Nick Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Breaking News SSN There was talk of him managing the reserve team at United.................
Darkon84 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I heard he was going to manage the Reserve Team as well. Good luck to the guy, an absolute legend!
leicesterisme Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Absolute legend, more footballers need to have a look at how he has handled his career.
Corky Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Great player, kept himself to himself off the pitch. One of the best I've seen.
sdb Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Easily one of the best players i've ever seen, and one of the best English ever. Personally think he lost it a good few years ago now, bar a few moments here and there, but a legend of the game for sure. Amazing YouTube vid on the Guardian Footy page atm.
shailen Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Englands best player of last 20 years! Beckham has always stole the limelight but scholes has been the xavi of every team he has played for...run the midfield excellently, amazing passing ability!
Kent Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Can still boss a midfield. Fair play for being a one-club man though.
Jon the Hat Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Respect for his ability and the attitude and professionalism which he applied throughout his career. What a record.
shailen Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Can still boss a midfield. Fair play for being a one-club man though. Tbh he couldnt have gone to a better team then man utd. But i understand what you mean. The barca coach said if he would take anyone from utd it would be scholes.

The barca coach said if he would take anyone from utd it would be scholes. Yeah that's what I meant, he could go to a lot of clubs (PL clubs too) and probably still be quality. That's why I respect him for deciding to end it at Man Utd rather than go another club for a year or two.
purpleronnie Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Can still boss a midfield. Fair play for being a one-club man though. Easy when that club is man utd though.
Finnegan Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Says a lot that Xavi got all gushy and awestruck when compared to him. Top player.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Wish he'd have kept going for England longer than he did, absolutely brilliant player in his prime.
Libertine Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Wish he'd have kept going for England longer than he did, absolutely brilliant player in his prime. He probably would if whatever gimp was in charge at the time didn't keep playing him on the left.
Austin Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I was always under the impression he was going to have a final season at Oldham? .. Maybe someone made that up. Great player.
Jimothy Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I was always under the impression he was going to have a final season at Oldham? .. Maybe someone made that up. Great player. I'd heard that too. Was beginng to think I'd made it up!
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Superb career, and Zidane's recognition shows what a player he is. Shame to see him leave the game, delight to watch. Also Its a shame he retired from international football as early as he did, mistake IMO. Could have made a lot more appearances if it wern't for injuries/suspensions. Refreshing to see some loyalty.
