Jobyfox Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 I see that there is another rumour from Talk Sport (can’t open it at work so I don’t know what it says) with the headline: “Leicester confident of snatching Routledge from under Swansea’s nose”. Hmmm …. I guess we’d have to match their £2m bid. It is rumoured that we’ve offered £1.5m Forest apparently have offered £17 6s 3d and the use of a static caravan in Ingoldmells on alternate weekends in July

RedHux Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 This guy wazzes all over Routledge. He came second in the 'best eredivision player' thing they have. If we sign him it'll be something of a coup and a massive shock! Besides which, he has a video CV which is a winner in my book. (worth it just for the great football ADO seem able to play. from 4:42 for instance).

You wouldn't know you were in a caravan, it's got a proper kitchen and bedrooms and everything
Blinking Blue Owl Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 Yes and it still smells of a dark damp Forest .
Joe. Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 Ah bugger, I went away on holiday a week ago and expected this one done by now. Would be very disappointing to miss out on him.

Wherethefoxhat? Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 Leicester City remain hopeful of making Newcastle winger Wayne Routledge their EIGHTH signing of the summer, despite Swansea continuing their pursuit of the midfielder. Brendan Rodgers has admitted to making a number of bids to land the wide man, who helped QPR into the Premier League while on loan at Loftus Road last season, with Newcastle rumoured to have accepted the latest offer. But Sven Goran Eriksson has made waves in the transfer market in the last two months, securing the signatures of Paul Konchesky from Liverpool and Kasper Schmeichel from Leeds, among others, and wants to continue with the acquisition of Routledge. Leicester are now one of the favourites to win the Championship and that, combined with the fact that former England boss Sven is at the helm, could convince Routledge to move to Leicester's newly-named King Power Stadium.

HankMarvin Posted 19 July 2011 Author Posted 19 July 2011 Swans sweating on Routledge deal Swansea fans face a nail-biting wait to see if Wayne Routledge joins the club. The Swans had their £1.8million bid for the winger accepted by Newcastle on Monday. But Routledge, 26, cannot discuss personal terms until chairman Huw Jenkins is back from holiday tomorrow, with Nottingham Forest also keen to snap him up. Published 22:29 19/07/11
philce Posted 20 July 2011 Posted 20 July 2011 The plot thickens!!! Wayne Routledge is a wanted man after Nottingham Forest also have a bid accepted for the player This leaves Swansea City and Nottingham Forest to battle out for his services with Leicester City also hovering in the background with Brendan Rodgers worried that he may miss out due to a smaller wage budget than the Championship clubs. Speaking to the Western Mail, Rodgers said "He (Routledge) has to make his mind up about what he wants to do because I'm sure there are a host of clubs after him – but he would fit into our style. "We'll be in the market for certain types of players and pay certain salaries. "And you can see already that teams in the Championship are able to pay a lot more than us. That's the nature of it, so life goes on." The Swans bid - reported to be around £1.8m - was accepted the other day and personal terms are now under discussion with the club hoping that the lure of Premier League football may yet turn out to be the deciding factor.
