Kilworthfox Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 It is widely thought by those ITK that we're favourites to sign him but then as we all know, anything can happen between now and him signing. I do not see what Forest offers which is something that Leicester can not??? Surely Leicester as the club stands has more cash for wages, & on paper a better squad to gain promotion. Unless there is a relationship with McLaren or whom ever which i am unaware???
thybluefox Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 We never actually had a bid in for him did we...so 40 pages and us expecting him to sign was based pretty much off Fourth_Officials twitter?
DC1010 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Don't think we need to get a winger if we get yakubu and maynard, and play the three up front with gallagher/nugent, like sven likes. Even though, few wingers we could look at for season-long loans; Vladimír Weiss, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Victor Anichebe(more of CF), Nabil El Zhar, Gabriel Obertan, Danny Rose. Gilles Sunu and Ryo Miyaichi, love us to get ryo but can see him getting first team football for arsenal this season.
Tommy G Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Why is wolly with a brolly suddenly sucking off all our potential signings
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Get Obertan in!!! Or we could go for Bertrand on loan?
Jon the Hat Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Perhaps what Forest offered was in fact... A transfer fee followed by a contract? And we offered.. nothing?
Babylon Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Perhaps what Forest offered was in fact... A transfer fee followed by a contract? And we offered.. nothing? Exactly. Stringer / Tanner have more often than not been rather skeptical about how interested Sven actually was in him.
sdb Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Strange how people have gone from foaming at the mouth over the prospect of him coming here, to not really caring about him now he's set to go to a rival!! Let's get Kebe.
Will1981 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Get Obertan in!!! Or we could go for Bertrand on loan? you must be joking Obertan is useless.
FoxesFan123 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Obertan is useless! He will be out the Man Utd exit door very soon playing for a second/third division French team soon. Routledge will be good for Forest, he's won the championship past two seasons with Newcastle and QPR, facts like that can't be ignored! However, I don't think we need a winger as such if we play with 3 up, once we sign yak/Maynard of course.

Let's get Kebe. Well im slightly gutted we didnt sign him and only hope we sign someone as good if not better. Im starting to look around at other NPC teams... looking at our strength going forward we are far from walking this league and IMO lucky to get top 6. As it currently stands. But there is still another 2 and a half weeks until the season starts.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 This is news to me! RT @mark_s25: @nufcfans news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot…? Carver says @WayneRoutledge was already a Swansea ... http://tmi.me/diX2v
absolutelegend Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 you must be joking Obertan is useless. Agree! Awful. Kebe looked class last season, as did Routledge. Either or please Svenny!

Surely Leicester as the club stands has more cash for wages, & on paper a better squad to gain promotion. Unless there is a relationship with McLaren or whom ever which i am unaware??? I know this is going to sound arrogant, but i think if sven really wanted Routledge, we would get him, certainly over f****t, or most other clubs in our division. Wasn`t it said the other week, that it was actually Routledge`s agent that came to us, and was pushing for us to sign him? I think Svens priorities lie elsewhere at the moment, and he wasn`t really too fussed about Routledge. I must admit though,i would like us to bring in another winger myself. The Kebe shout earlier, was the one i would have gone for, before routledge, to be honest.

I think Routledge is a good player, & Kebe, I'd be happy to see either or both in our squad. There is a limit to our budget, & Sven has his priorities, maybe WR or any winger is not a top priority, seeing as Danns can play on the right of midfield, maybe Dyer & Gally will play left?
Lambert09 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Potentially adding the money to the Yak/Maynard/ Heskey cause ?

RedHux Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 I think those saying Sven hasn't really chased this one with any great enthusiasm are probably about right. His transfer fee's definitely within your budget and if Mills can command 20k the wages wouldn't be an issue either. Perhaps as many have said he sees better places in your squad to spend the money on.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 I won't believe this until hes officially signed for Forest.
Dabizas Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 If he goes forest we did not want him, just thinking that we can offer more than them not just financially

Playing them out of position would show we are not serious about pushing for top 2 and not good enough in this area. Dyer just isnt good enough fullstop.

WR would have been a luxury signing for us, nice to have but not going to make or break our team right now. Sven needs to land a striker first, and if we're playing 433 then Routledge isn't a must have with the players we have in our squad. Don't get me wrong, I'd still be stoked if he came here, but he's not the be all and end all.
Bert Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 This thread might as well be closed. He won't be coming here.
topharry123 Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 This thread might as well be closed. He won't be coming here. Unfortunately looks like your right. If we were serious about it, think we would have done a lot more to get him. Would be nice but every day that goes by chances seem to be getting slimmer and less talk about him joining Leciester is mentioned.
