fox ache Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 What's childish about it? You could argue all chants are childish, I don't sing stuff when I'm at a restaurant and at the cinema. When I was 5 I didn't swear like that. Grown men have been doing it ever since I first went to Filbo. Sorry but I don't see how it makes us look stupid at all. No idea what you're talking about. You could argue the poznan looks stupid, or when we sing other clubs' anthems, but what's stupid about a couple of swear words to put the goalkeeper off? It's just quintissential football fan behaviour. Ridiculous statement about Hart and Butland, since when were football fans supposed to be complimentary/about opposition players? Not everyone with a beard is actually a gypo you know. Totally agree with ya mate......... Plus , how can we drop it when we hold the world record for keeping the aaarrrrrrggghhhh going for up to10 minutes,
davieG Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Disagree. It's part of our fan culture, we've done it for years and it's one of the things we should keep. I don't care if 'it's long gone from every other club', that's all the more reason to keep it. Why are you afraid of us being unique? That's a good thing. I use to hate this as we carried it on well past it's sell by date but it's now become integral and yes unique to LCFC, I liken it to the anti-hero in films it's our own anti-chant. So I don't mind it now. Wiki Anti-hero. In fiction, an antihero is a protagonist who lacks the attributes of an archetypal hero, (such as idealism and courage or being morally good), and possesses the attributes of an archetypal villain instead, (such as using criminal methods or working for mercenary goals), blurring the line between hero and villain. Antiheroes are not as fabulous as traditional heroes. They may be corrupt, oppressive, etc., or may merely have no unusual qualities whatsoever. They are not villains but not necessarily heroes. They may do bad things but are not evil. They may fight villains, but not for the reason of justice, or if it is for the cause of justice will take an "ends justify the means" stance. Their actions are motivated by their own personal desires, such as revenge. For example, an antihero may steal, vandalize, and perform other "bad" acts but may do so for a good cause or even an unexamined motivation.

Besides, it actually did put the keeper off at QPR 3 years ago Agreed, we can never drop that one! I love it when you're sat near the families and see a bunch of dads immediately shield their children's ears as the keeper takes the run-up. Also funny when listening to RL and if there's a lull, Stringer quickly realises he needs to say something to mask the obvious profanity so sometimes gets in a bit of a panic and starts talking (more) rubbish
Wem ber lee Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 When I think of Birmingham city fc, the following comes to mind, Barry Fry and the Autowindscreens trophy. This makes them tinpot and their opinions invalid.

Itsthejoeker Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Unique? Our fans were singing it to Joe Hart in the FA Cup and today to Butland, 2 England keepers who are hardly shit. It is childish and Filbert doesn't help matters by getting people to do it, if you have been to any Prem games in the last few years then you will see how stupid we'll look up there. Each to their own, you carry on being a 5 year old if you wish. Ah, just spotted you were listening on the radio and not there, oh well maybe you can keep doing it in your kitchen on a Saturday afternoon and won't feel embarrassed, me I'll miss that part out when at the games. OHHHHHH YOU'RE PRETTY GOOD AHHHHHHHH Doesn't quite have the same affect does it
PAULCFC Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Remember when we played spurs in the cup,Paul Robinson gave the kop the thumbs up for it!
Alexikokopops Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Lincoln City also do "you're shit aaaaaaaah", or at least they did when I used to go about 10 years ago. Also, reading that Birmingham thread I noticed this: Size of club has nothing to do with the fans that turn up. 5k Leicester fans came today because coming to Birmingham is like a cup final, a big day out. That shows a small time attitude. Whereas will I go to Leicester? Probably not. Because playing the likes of Leicester isn't an eye-catching tie for a club like Birmingham. It's all about expectations. Magnificently ignoring the fact we generally have a good away following, that this game has come on the back of five victories, we had a chance of going top of the league (duly taken) AND it's very local. I'm really hoping that's tongue in cheek because otherwise it's pretty embarrassing. Then again, the same poster describes them as the "4th most successful team of the decade"
jonthefox Posted 22 October 2012 Author Posted 22 October 2012 Not much going on with Brighton, but found this anyway. They don't seem too confident. http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?261407-Leicester-City-v-BHA-Score-Predictor/page2
MattyLCFC Posted 26 October 2012 Posted 26 October 2012 Palace don't seemt o confident either, suppose looding dougie can contribute towards that http://www.cpfc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=236990 http://www.cpfc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=236880 They seem to think out attack is good (correct). But they also seem to think Whitbred and Morgan, thats right, Morgan is a weak link. Think this guy will get a surprise then! "Their attack is the best in the league IMO. That De Laet is good too. I agree that Whitbread, Morgan and Konchesky are their weak links. Oh and Schmiechel is only were he is because of his name."

They are in for a shock if they think he's our weak link. I'd say the only potential "weak link" which isn't really weak is at RB and LB
MattyLCFC Posted 26 October 2012 Posted 26 October 2012 Whitbread, Morgan AND Konchesky are our weak links? Well, we have conceded too many, especially at home, a massive 2. and we have only kept 5 clean sheets so far, more than every other team in the league... they could be right
LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 26 October 2012 Posted 26 October 2012 "Leicester 2 (Nugent 16 & Danns 86)Palace 0 23,645" that guy has lost already ahaha
Corky Posted 26 October 2012 Posted 26 October 2012 Schmeichel is only at Leicester, a second-tier club, because of his name. That's the same as Peter, multiple title-winning, cup-winning, treble-winning, European Championship-winning player. Blimey Kasper, your name and relations get you so far mate.
jonthefox Posted 26 October 2012 Author Posted 26 October 2012 So nice to focus on the trivia of a football match against the league leaders rather that the rivers of bullshit flowing elsewhere. Thank you ROB for reminding us that we are a football club who are 4th in the league and not a bloody soap opera. So: Leicester 2 (Fuctacs, Waghorn) - 3 Palace (Murray (p), Delaney, Moritz) Att:24,000 Futacs

Any forum that thinks Waghorn will socre or Futacs and Danns play aswell as criticising our defence really doesn't know much about football
