You know your stuff Gaelic, how far do you think Eggington can go?

Hard to say , others on here are better judges but if he can get more power in his hands he could maybe be a European challenger not sure he will make world level ever , he ticks a lot of boxes but for me I still think he was fighting a finished fighter and it's not a great bout to judge him on

it's down to the lad now , if he dedicates his life to the game he could have a bright future at European level and British level but that's it's for me

Thing is Gaelic, it really doesn't surprise me anymore which is a sad state of affairs for the sport.

Yeah fair comment. Still only 23 though so plenty of time on his side I guess. Definitely one to look out for I reckon. I enjoyed watching him box but get your point about Gavin tbf.

Regarding Eggington, I know he's not at the level yet but I think if he can have a decent year or two id like to see him in a bit of a tear up with that Chris Algieri from New York.

Both love a war without being out and out KO specialists, still doubt Eggington can reach that level but just one id love to watch

I wasn't surprised I was actually listening out for it , but surely someone is bothered because it's becoming embarrassing

AJ v Klitch?

Surely this is too soon for AJ? It'll make him a millionaire but can he win?

Can't see this happening now WBA want a shit old load of cash to sanction it , Wlad will get the vacant fight and wba once again pull stage strings

Anyone catch Lyon Woodstocks win again last night? Always looking impressive with his skills.

Louis Norman from Shepshed lost on a close split decision to Don Broadhurst which could have gone either way.

Sam Bowen from Ibstock smashed his way to 8-0 on the Gavin Eggington undercard just before it went live. Another one for the future.

Lyon and Sam could both go on to be very good fighters. Lyon maybe even world level with the correct matchmaking. Leicester boxing seems to be on it way up!

Leon , ya I saw him in Corby last year was maybe his 4th fight ? He has a nice lot of skills but once he rounds off he will sharpen those skills , tough kid and the physical attributes to be very good , I believe has been sparing with terry Flanagan And doing not so bad I hear ,  world level is a huge shout , win an area title in a big home gig and then he can go from there , what I like about him is he has made a few stoppages. I believe he was born in london and is an arsenal fan but raised in Beaumont Leys ??

Sam Bowen for me is possibly the best of them two (different weights so doesn't matter to anyone what I think lol ) he was classy amateur and he has serious craft skills , he will be close to being a British champion and I genuinly believe he could go on to have a very good career , I can see him fighting for a belt soon they can't get lads to fight him and he will soon be knocking on the door of a British title fight

the county has some serious talent coming through , people need to get behind these lads , buying tickets direct off the lads is important because promoters push ticket sellers , sell tickets and you get fast tracked onto the good cards

Good to have another local fight fan on the thread keep us posted on the lads

BREAKING NEWS: Former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko suffered an injury and will not fight on Dec. 10, be it against IBF titleholder Anthony Joshua in England or somebody else on that date in Germany for the vacant WBA title, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN on Monday. The specific nature of the injury is unclear, but one source said it was a calf injury. However, the Klitschko and Joshua camps remain in talks to put together the fight for the first part of 2017. Klitschko was awaiting notification from the WBA on whether it would sanction a fight with Joshua on Dec. 10 -- most thought it wouldn't -- but now it doesn't matter what the organization decides. The decision has been delayed for several days.

I understand injuries happen and i'd rather see 100% fit boxers with no excuses (Take note Mr Haye - You don't go into the ring without an injury, lose, then blame the injury) but it ain't half frustrating.

I think it's almost sad that AJ v Klitch may well happen. Klitch has been around for donkeys ages at the top level but I think AJ only needs to hit him with one really good punch to get his legs wobbling.

The gravy train will roll on but I'd like to see AJ put in with some really good heavy weight. Someone who has a chance of beating him. Only then will we know if he's the real deal.

I don't think it will happen... Hearne will continue pitching him against rubbish, or ageing fighters, to gain income in some argument that 'it's building AJ up,.....gaining experience' etc...

Personally, I think it's time he had a proper fight. And I don't mean David Price.

Well this one is off now anyway - until March April apparently due to a minor Klitch injury - which I'm guessing is tactical. Be interesting come Dec 10th who ends up on the bill.

I just hope Wlad hangs them up now, I've loved watching him over the years and the thought of him being beaten up aged 41/42 by guys who wouldn't have lived with him in his prime isn't a good one, save that for racists and rapists like Ali and Tyson.

Price obviously has a punchers chance against anyone but he could also get seriously hurt fighting AJ.

If there is a belt on the line you can't fault him for fighting Wlad. Same with Charles Martin, when it's for a strap it really doesn't matter who is across the ring from you it's a chance to become World Champion, you're the same World Champion in the history books if you knock Charles Martin over in the second round or beat Muhammad Ali by a SD.

Besides I think you're doing him a bit of a disservice while old he is still probably the most technical heavy weight in the division and would hopefully give AJ something to think about, it's still a big step up for Joshua, I'd expect Joshua to win purely off the back of the Fury fight as Wlad looked done then and while all this pissing about has been occurring a whole calendar year has ticked by now and Wlad is even older, but still, it's the sort of step he needs to take before embarking on the really big fights which you would imagine would be something along of the lines of Parker/Haye/Ruiz (Fury if he gets his head sorted) and end up with the biggest fight in the division for years against Wilder if both manage to overcome what will hopefully be the bigger tests.

This is ideal world like, it's boxing so we could be stuck with shit fights for a few more years lol

De Gale Jack, now there is an interesting prospect for January.
