Webbo Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 We all chipped in for a banner before the league one season, I can't find the thread. There were a few problems if iIrc.
The Padster Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I can see the sentiment behind this but surely it would be better to do it when they have actually acheived something? ie; promotion, and maybe Premiership stability?
Alexikokopops Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I can see the sentiment behind this but surely it would be better to do it when they have actually acheived something? ie; promotion, and maybe Premiership stability? And when we actually know the terms of this money that they're throwing our way.
turkish14 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I see there is a few negative post today, what I will say is stop thinking about the money spent on players a la birmingham as one poster stated, as that's to be expected right? Milan spent 10 mill right? Not since the prem days have we spent this kind of money and all because the owners want prem football doesn't mean they are obliged to spend there own millions.. Also can anyone tell me if the birmingham owners have done as much off the field as our owners have done in the short space of time they have been here. Whatever the reasons or gains ultimately it's an exciting time to be a city fan and that's down mainly to the owners.

Pearson took us to 5th with no money and instead of a banner he got told to fcuk off...... Like a few have said, lets actually wait until we have achieved something and we actually know this money isnt being financed against the clubs assets first.
Yojoe36 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I'd so laugh if next week we go bankrupt and go into liquidation Oh wait no I wouldn't
wattolcfc Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 screw the negativity, these are exciting times and supporting this idea would make the owners see that we appreciate everything they're doing (and they may even support the manager even more then). You can get £2 from me
MrLuke Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Being a Graphic Designer and having designed the FoxesTalk iPhone icons I'd be happy to put my design-o-cap on and come up with a few designs. and I'll contribute a big shiny pound too.
MrLuke Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Hmmm, i used the word design a fair few times there. Design!
MrLuke Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I'll give you a quid not to make one. call it £2 and we have a deal
ozleicester Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I think if everyone who wants to chip in... were to chip in to a foxestalk fund, one of our genius designers here could design a fabulous email that we could send on behalf of the site.... And the site makes some (im sure much welcomed) money.
Nath Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Even if we get a few banners... For fosse boys or the owners or just for Leicester in general. We need to make it atmospheric and intimidating. Make it a ground to be proud of. I'm sure even if we put the idea forward to the club, they would help/contribute too as they keep saying they want the fans to be happy.
Stevosevic Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Maybe, if possible, Susan Whelan is the person to contact. She seems like she is open to listening to the fans and wants to improve matchdays.

smudger63 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I dont know, some of us are never happy are we, moan when we don`t spend money, and then moan when we do! Maybe we should invite mandaric back, no danger of him spending too much. Then we can go back to summers, bringing in the Michael Lameys of the football world, even if it means being nothing more than a mid table championship club. We don`t know for sure where the moneys coming from, but for me, there`s no point in worrying about something i have no control over, so i`m happy to climb onto the same optimistic bus as the new owners, Trust them, and back them all the way, and go with their current ambitious plans for our club, because you know what, they want the same for my club as i do. These are exciting times for our club, there are no guarantees of how things are going to turn out, there never is, but for the first time in the many, many years, that i`ve been going down the city, we`ve got a board that are willing to give it a real go. At this point in time, the new owners have been first class, and done nothing but good for the city, so I for one am happy to say thank you to them...

As soon as you want to do anything apart from sit down, buy a programme and clap along in a sensible way you wont find much help from inside this football club. When they talk about improving the matchday experience for supporters that stops when it comes to L1, fosse boys etc....
Nath Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 But there's new people around, maybe they will be different... ...Probably not though
Guest MattP Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 But there's new people around, maybe they will be different... ...Probably not though Considering they have promoted Kev Barclay I dont think we are going to see any relaxation in the implementation of stadium laws.
Nath Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Might be a good things he been promoted... Atleast he is out the way of the fans!
Fosse Boy Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Not being funny but this idea seems a bit weird to me. Can think of dozens of other people connected to the club more worthy of having a banner made about them (Weller, Lineker, Rowley, Shilton, Banks...) rather than just some bloke whose birthday card we fell out of.
Nath Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Why not a banner for all or a few of them? I can just see there being lots of problems with it though
