bald reynard Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Is anyone else disgusted by the club's arrangements, announced on Monday, for this seasons Membership Scheme ? I (and a few friends) have been Members ever since the Scheme started. We live some distance away and simply can not get to enough matches to make Season Tickets worthwhile. The Membership Scheme has been great - and ideal for us - but the new arrangements are a real 'kick in the teeth' for loyal fans like us. For those that don't know, the new Scheme has restricted MembershipTickets to certain parts of the ground and have removed the (small) discount that Members received on tickets. We have always sat in Blocks H, J or K of the East Stand (near friends with Season Tickets) - we can no longer do that. The areas available to Members, now seem to be those that they can't sell other Tickets for. The loss of the discount means that there is no advantage to being a Member - the Scheme is simply a way of selling blocks of ticket (5's or 10's), in areas that are difficult to fill. We will be writing to Susan Whelan (the new Chief Exec) to put these points and I urge other ex-Members who are upset about the new arrangements, to do the same.

Christoph Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 get over it, just pay full price like everyone else. 20 quid a pop, lets say its you and your son which is 15 quid, 35 quid for a day out plus food and petrol, your looking at 45-50 quid for a day out. Not everyone can afford a 50 quid day out
cc_star Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 get over it, just pay full price like everyone else. What a ridiculous thing to say season tickets get a larger discount, memberships could get a small discount and turn up on the door you pay face value, removing the small discount removes the incentive to block purchase tickets and if members don't block purchase and go to one or two less games as a result then the club will have lost out
Filthy Fox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 20 quid a pop, lets say its you and your son which is 15 quid, 35 quid for a day out plus food and petrol, your looking at 45-50 quid for a day out. Not everyone can afford a 50 quid day out yeh we all wish it was cheaper but at the end of the day leicester charge the same as any other championship team and expect rises when we hit premiership.
ozleicester Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Good Luck speaking to the chief exec, hopefully they will recognise the value of Members.
thybluefox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 yeh we all wish it was cheaper but at the end of the day leicester charge the same as any other championship team and expect rises when we hit premiership. You, sunshine, have completely missed the point.

Maybes Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Fair enough they've put seating restrictions in place and I get your point in regards to that matter. However with the new membership (basically a mini season ticket) you are getting a much greater discount that you would have got before?!

On the OS news article on the new scheme says: 'Membership represents up to a 15% discount on match day prices, with Members also receiving priority when booking away tickets, cup tickets and pre-season games as well as a 5% discount in the Club Megastore.' So I don't really get what you're on about with the prices - however, I do understand your frustration at the constraints on where you sit. Obviously the club are trying to free up tickets in more expensive areas of the stadium. To be honest, I think Members should get a good discount on 10-ticket packages...but a 15% discount on only commiting to 2 Platinum games or 2 Platinum games and 3 Gold games (Membership 5) seems pretty generous to be honest.

Dylan Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Or get a season ticket which is very cheap..only cost me £126 I'm sure the average under-18's ST is around £200 odd now, which is a lot to pay atm, considering I'd have to find the money myself rather than parents. Added to that, I'd have to find someone else willing to commit to a ST too, and I don't really know much Leicester Fans from school etc due to them all being glory hunters. And the Adult ones are way too much for others I know who support City to pay at once. Went to most home games last year by just getting a ticket before hand which wasn't too bad. Bit disappointed they've made under 18 prices different across the ground, which was the same last year... So looks like ill be having to sit in the corner seats to save money.. Will be considering these memberships, and hopefully have enough saved up by xmas for a 2nd half ST

Bryn Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 So we're to add members to the list of things Foxestalk members have nothing but contempt for?
Webbo Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Right, first time I've had a membership, just got a few questions. a) How do I know which are gold fixtures and which are platinum? b) How early do I have to let them know if I want to go to a match and do I have to pick up my ticket on the match day? c) Do I get to pick my seat (within the area) with the 'just the ticket scheme?
thybluefox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 nobody asked you tom... , wtf, are you stalking me or do you actually know who I am?
