StanSP Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Reading top of the league. Will be a pretty good day for Southampton tomorrow if they can beat their rivals and return to the top.
Corky Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Hope Southampton win it, to do the double over the champions would be an achievement.
Fox92 Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Good result for us, we can still make the playoffs( as daft as that may sound) I know we haven't looked like producing it, but we might as well cheer up until it is mathematically impossible give the players some encouragement yes I know it works both ways but you know what I mean, anyway lets hope we beat Donny tomorrow. I think it is still possible. If Brighton loose (currently loosing at Burnley), and we beat Doncaster, we will be 4 points off of Brighton...
Brown Fox Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Hate Reading with a passion but the silver lining is if they go up we won't have to play them next season! Bastards always beat us.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Thought Leeds did good throughout most of the game because they only had 10 men, Reading deserved the win and I hope they win it, can't stand Southampton
Matt Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Reading have really missed their star player/best defender in the league Matt Mills ain't they?! And i'm taking the mick out of myself there aswell as many of our fans because I did (From what i'd saw of him) claim he was 'one of the best defenders in the league' when he was signing.
Happy Fox Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 I think it is still possible. If Brighton loose (currently loosing at Burnley), and we beat Doncaster, we will be 4 points off of Brighton... I know what you mean I hope the players do us proud for the remaining 6 games whatever will be will be.

You certainly weren't alone in thinking that. Leicester's biggest waste of money ever?
leicesterisme Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 He would do a job in our midfield though in my opinion. Gets stuck in, gets his body in the way of everything. Yeah, that is true. Just a horrible player, but I suppose that is the kind of player you need in this division.
Corky Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 He would do a job in our midfield though in my opinion. Gets stuck in, gets his body in the way of everything. Did nothing Danns doesn't and Danns has more quality on the ball.
Happy Fox Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Is Lee Bowyer still around? wouldn't mind that nasty piece of work here we certainly do need that bite in the centre of the park.
Matt Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Just another thing to 'throw into the fire', we clearly havn't been good enough all season, so if by some miracle we did make the playoffs fair enough they'll be changes and we'll strengthen in the summer but do people really think we'd be strong enough in the Premiership? Thats if of course we a; Make the playoffs and b; Win the playoffs - We won't do either imo, but just want get views from people who still think we can make the playoffs as to what happens then because if we havn't been good enough all season in the Championship we won't be anywhere near good enough in the Premiership, we'll have to basically rebuild and buy a whole new team barr one or two players and that in itself is a recipe for disaster. Too little too late for me.

Corky Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Of course we wouldn't be good enough. A positive though would be that we'd go up after a storming run that might last for a few games in the Premier League, but really we're a way off the quality required.

Too little too late for me. If we did in the unlikely event get promotion we would need a complete overhaul, only a couple of players could I see doing the business: Kasper, Konch, Beckford, Nugent and St Ledger, than the younger players Marshall, Drinkwater the rest we would need to heavily strengthen the team to stand any chance of survival this is all hypothetical of course.

Exactly which is another reason why I believe we should give up on the season, ok do aswell as we can, finish as high as we can but really I think all these people wanting us to make the playoffs and still go up are really not seeing the potential dangers it has. The position we are in, we should just play it out, have another go in the summer at strengthening, sort ourselves out and go again next season. Pointless rushing it now the position we are in and the weak team we have.
marko Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Hate Reading with a passion but the silver lining is if they go up we won't have to play them next season! Bastards always beat us. I was thinking this, but as much as I hate West Ham, I think i'd rather they went up automatically as they'd be more of a threat next season.
Corky Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 If West Ham don't go up I'm sure Allardyce will go, and they'd be an attractive option for many managers. I'd expect them to be a threat again, probably with a better manager.
Asha Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Can't stand Reading. But they're going up and makes me sick.

I too don't think were good enough, but I also don't think, should we somehow manage to get promoted, we'd do as bad as a lot of people are making out. There are some poor teams in the prem currently (Wigan,Wolves, Blackburn, Bolton, QPR...) and look at our Norwich result. Recently we've been abysmal away, but got a result there. Yes , we prob would struggle, but talk of being bottom with a new record points low some have suggested is, imo way off the mark.
Guest shearfox Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Blackpool winning not great but Brighton losing is good, win tomorrow only 4 points from playoffs...
Fox92 Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Mark Noble has scored a fantastic goal. Barnsley 0-3 West Ham with 35 mins played. They could get 5, easy.
Vardinhio Posted 6 April 2012 Posted 6 April 2012 Barnsley are playing absolutely awful, their team looks full of league 2 players.
