Was gutted about Englands limp display and avoided this thread as I thought LargeAl would be wanking all over Englands demise but there's no sign of any post match gloating?!

Good, as there's nothing more boring as England bashing from the rest of the U.K, particularly when it's from an ENGLISHMAN. (Wannabe Jock)

For the record, I am not small minded and will always cheer on Wales, Scotland and Ireland despite the fact they despise us. And therefore, despite the entire nation of Wales cheering on France today I hope the Welsh win next Saturday.

I have noticed the defeats without your WC players..are the replacements that much worse or just inexperienced?

Bit of both. Mainly inexperience and lots of players who haven't played together being thrown together not altogether successfully.

I've only just seen the result - I was passed out until about 11 this morning.

Nah, I'm getting pissed and watching tron.

I'm ****ing delighted that england are out, but out of parochism (that's the club version of patriotism right?) rather than patriotism, want the Tigers to finally pick up.

Hmmmm, parochialism, possibly.

And I could think of better things to do whilst getting pissed than watching Tron. But each to their own me old mucker.

Ugh. This again? Really?

Why is it City fans are allowed to want Forest and Derby to lose but the English end up crying into their Hovis and throwing round accusations of petty, small-mindedness when the Celtic nations take a bit of joy in England flopping?

Wales - England might be a nothing fixture in the football because, frankly, Wales are no threat; but Wales - England and Scotland - England are huge rivalries in rugby, it's just a bit of banter, a bit of a laugh.

Ask Sparky if he's ever wanted Wales to win a match!! It's a two-way deal and, as long as it's just the sport, I don't have a problem with it! I've got loads of English friends, I've now lived in England for more than half my life and I'm happy here - I don't "despise" you in any 'real' context, it's just sport.

:appl: to Wales who were the better team. Just a bit depressing to go out with such a performance.

The French were awesome against a lacklustre and frankly clueless English team.

The two semi finals are shaping up to be crackers.

Sounds like I should have got up early for the Wales - Ireland game and gone back to bed for the England game.

Has Johnson fallen on his sword yet?

Was a stupid decision to make him manager - in football terms it would be the same as making Beckham the manager of England's football team.

However, his record of wins from games played, are higher than the three previous England managers. I agree that he was a risk, but who was out there.

What worries me, if he does choose to go, is that Cocker's name is bound to be in the frame. I will not be happy. :nono: :nono: :nono:

Know the players will be disappointed to lose but not sure it was a drastic enough to jump off ferries.

BBC say one of the England players was reported for jumping off one.

:dunno:

Cockers won't even be in the frame, there's a number of other English / British coaches ahead of him.

I think the RFU have to go external if they're ever going to progress, though. You have the personnel to piece together a very good, expansive, attacking side with a lot of young, talented players. What you need is a neutral coach who doesn't have the English ethos of heavy forwards-based, set-piece orientated, kicking rugby and whom has no bias or loyalty to the old guard.

You need to go Southern Hemisphere. Graham Henry would be a massive coup if you could land him but failing that, a Scott Johnson or Pat Howard would do wonders. That is if you could ever convince an Aussie to manage England.

And it was Manu Tuilangi.

He did it and swam to shore, it wasn't a suicide attempt lol.

Bloody hell yesterdays game was an edge of your seat game, solid defensive effort and we had no right to win at all. David Pocock was outstanding.

Wholeheartedly agree. I really hope Wales win today because they deserve to be in the final more than any other team in the tournament. I support England and wish they could have been playing Wales today, but since they are no longer in the competition I will be supporting another home nation today.

Good luck boys!

I feel physically sick, I am so angry. How can you have a half French, half Irish ref when you're playing France and you've just put Ireland out?

One of the worst decisions I've ever seen. Disgusting.

Sorry Finn, I disagree. It was probably more wreckless than intentional but he did not release him until his legs were above his head. To the law, that is a spear tackle. a definite yellow and possibly red.

Alain Roland is a good professional ref. a bit harsh to say he would be biased.

Wales can still win this.
