When you take pride in defeat, you know you're shit.

This. Typically Scottish, brave, gallant etc etc

Got beat.

We're coming all over you, Ireland.

Keep it to the rugby, dirt ball

1 player possibly ruled out of the quarter finals?

Oh well, better than a whole team I spose.

lol.

Carter out of the rest of the tournament with a groin injury.

Feel for him but at least he won't have tobe on the pitch when Ireland beat the ABs in the final.

Wales are playing significantly better than us. I hope we get knocked out by France 'cos Finners will be really fvcking annoying if they get the chance to murder us.

England are shit.

Scotland are very, very shit.

That is all.

I agree. Seen lots of poor showings by "big" teams and yet they've still won. Often undeservedly. I'm looking at you South Africa.

Having said that... France v England. Neither team deserves to be a World Cup semi-finalist but one of them will be.

On a brighter note I overheard an idiot (qualified by what I am about to tell you) say, "if we had the players, we could win the world cup."

Well duh! "The players" being, at this point in time, Kiwis.

Our experience just might carry us through the final here, we have been there and done it in recent years and that's a massive thing, Wales or Ireland in a world cup semi final and its totally new to them in recent years, they will probably shit themselves at the thought of getting to a WC final.

What bollocks. It's just a game against England (if you even beat a French side with far more quality if they show up.)

You have played shockingly so far. You can stick your head in the sand and pretend I'm just being biased but Eire and ourselves are playing confident, strong rugby - you really aren't. If you get through to the final it'll be because someone finally stuck a rocket up Wilko's arse or crowbarred him out the side when Johnno wasnt looking.

It's not bollocks though is it? We are a bit similar to the Germans in footy, we were absolute shite last world cup but we somehow got through to the final, the Jocks should of beat us on saturday but deep deep down they knew along with us they were going to end with the usual "brave Scots go down in glorious defeat" - it always happens.

No doubt in a semi-final we'll have a severe mental edge over whoever we are playing, you can pretend it's "just another game" if you want but in reality it isn't. Big game experience is absolutely everything in these tournaments. The rugby lot are mentally like the cricketers rather than the footballers fortunately.

You were boring as hell in the last WC. You were dull, negative, the rugby equivelant of watching Stoke. But like Stoke you were tough, rugged, hard to beat and slowly ticking over points.

So far in this WC you've been the worst I've seen you play in ages. Both the Scots and the Argies should have put you to the sword.

A better side will unless you improve massively.

Rugby is nigh on always ugly, really.

Northern Hemisphere yes, some of the stuff south of the equator is very easy on the eye though.

Speak for yourself. Ireland, Wales and France play some fantastic running rugby. Of course we don't quite have players of Sonny Bill or Quade Cooper's calibre but the intent is there.

How you can possibly suggest the likes of O'Driscoll, Bowe, Shane W, James Hook, Vincent Clerc or Trinh Duc 'play ugly' is beyond me.

Watch the Celtic League or watch Toulouse, Scarlets or Munster play in Europe. Sorry mate but the North know how to play exciting rugby.

Just nobody told the English. (I must add, out of fairness, at their best the Tigers are an exception.)

I watch a bit of the mangers league and I;'d certainly agree its far more entertaining than the English one where I struggle to stay awake for a whole game. Still don't think its anywhere near the excitement and quality of the Super 14 though, it's on a different planet to anything up here.

That's why I fancy England though, if it does come down to a WC semi final between England/Wales/Ireland it will probably end up being a nervy, cagey affair that going to be dominated by forwards rather than free flowing backs, hence why I see England as having a big advantage should it get there.

On a side note Sonny Bill Williams is one of my fave sportsman on the planet, I hope he carries on with his boxing as he could give it a good 4 year crack after he has finished rugby, got some talent in the ring as well as on a rugby field.
