MikeyT Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2411827,00.html As a 'thank-you' for the fantastic support Sven-Goran Eriksson's team will receive at Saturday's npower Championship opener at Coventry City, we're buying every one of the 6,173 travelling members of the Blue Army a drink at next week's visit of Reading. Simply retain your ticket stub from today's game at the Ricoh Arena, bring it to the home game against Reading on Saturday August 13 and we'll swap it for a pre-match Singha Beer or a soft drink of your choice! The offer will be available between 12.00noon and 2.00pm on Saturday August 13, when the Foxes get their home league campaign underway against Brian McDermott's Royals (kick-off 3.00pm).
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Like how they post it today when most people won't check the OS until after the game when they have already chucked away there ticket.
I am Rod Hull Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 I`d say nowt, then go around picking the tickets up..
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 I have 4 tickets. Might buy a ticket for the game for the 4 free pints.
Topman Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Again, the owners knows how to sweet up the fans, I'm definately going there early get my free drinks and watch the Thai boxing, which other club would look after their fans like we do! LCFC

LCFC I didn't realise the Muay-Thai boxing is at the Reading game. I briefly saw a glimpse of the trailer and assumed it was pay per view. Any idea what time this kicks off as I really want to see it?

Alexikokopops Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Smart. Really smart business. Exactly. Get people out the pubs a bit earlier with the offer of a free drink, thus meaning they'll have to buy a few more in the ground then they usually would. All the while they're looking like saints. TEXTBOOK. Edit: This is assuming we don't have a contract with a catering company where they pay us a fixed sum but keep the takings from food/drink.
Alexikokopops Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 You've been rumbled Top, he's onto you. I work in marketing, we like to come up with things like this.
Bert Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 The thing that makes ms laugh is that the offer is on from 12-2. I'm sure the turnstiles don't open until half one?
Messi Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Surely they will open the turnstiles earlier next week Bert? Doubt they will squeezing the thai boxing in before a 3 kick off.

Topman Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 You got me there, I actually can get away with being the owners, since I'm Chinese anyway, but I'm better looking than top
CosbehFox Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 I work in marketing, we like to come up with things like this. How would you rate the Chairmen's message on the PR-a-scale?
ramboacdc Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 I work in marketing, we like to come up with things like this. lots of companies do it. its why paddy power is a loved bookies by the customers but hated in the industry cuz we always give back to the customers and promote ourselves.
Thracian Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Call it blatant PR but it's a gesture they didn't have to make and one that I thought was thoroughly earned by the Blue Army today because they were bloody magnificent. Being in the Coventry section gave me the chance to see em front on and it was a sight to behold, especially at the end. After years of insincere promises from Mandaric about all sorts of things I'd sooner have the "Just Do It" attitude of our current owners. At the very least it shows they're in touch with the fans and have some genuine enthusiasm and determination to make our club talked about.

It's a free drink & it'll potentially cost someone a few quid. Best owners we've ever had I'd say.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Great PR from the Thais but similarly something that they didn't have to do. It's re-assuring to see them making such an effort with the supporters when thinking about their commitment to the club. They seem to genuinely want to build a genuine rapport with us, in contrast to Mandaric who only ever did things to boost his own ego or to re-assert the sacrifices that he had made or money he had lost. Picked up an extra stub outside but it was an under 16 one, take it I won't get an extra beer with that?!
Mickey O'Neil Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 . Being in the Coventry section gave me the chance to see em front on and it was a sight to behold... You cheeky chappie you! Didn't take any photos by any chance did you?
FoxesAreBlue Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 I always keep the ticket stub as a kind of souveneer (god knows how that's spelt) given that I rarely bother with programmes etc so I won't be trading it in for a beer - I don't think my bloody ocd would cope with having a ticket missing from the games I've been to! EDIT brill gesture though
