Quote of the night "JJB Sports and Currys Digital has been smashed up and looted, but Waterstones next door remains untouched".

Why dont they just send in the army?

I imagine be cause it is the police that have the major amount of training in these things. Realistically the army doesn't have the equipment or skills to deal with this thing - unless your suggesting a shoot on sight policy?

There is something to be said for a dictatorship you know!

Did you go and see Lee Evans at De Mont' by any chance?

Because the majority of the army is out in Afghanistan killing shepherds and arguably re-establishing the drugs trade (I'm sure I heard stats a couple of months ago saying that the heroin trade in Afghanistan is at record high levels after the Taliban had near enough destroyed it).

Sending in the army wouldn't be as disastrous as some suggest, they are intensively trained in riot control in war zones.

I wouldn't rule it out if this continues, though not with live ammunition obviously.

Get the baton rounds ready.

They'd soon go running.

Booooo it's all about the live ammo.

The bullets would bounce off all the trainers and 42" plasmas anyway.

What would the army be equipped with??

Rubber bullets? The police have that covered.

Water canons? Apparently there are 6 in Northern Ireland and they are needed there because its marching season.

Colston Hall in Bristol - must be subconscious as I can't recall the joke?

Ha... he did a joke about going in there and thinking it had been robbed, until he was told it always looked like that.

Then he did about 5 minutes of jokes about the clothes being seconds, like gloves with 6 fingers and track suit bottoms with hoods on.

Park a tank outside JD, that should stop the looting.

Army fire engines.... they can spray the crowds, and if they get set on fire they can put it out themselves.

So he did - what did you do, nick the pages as he tossed them off the table?

Few Apache gunships hovering overhead would work a charm.

He'd need a good throw to reach the back row!! ha. It's about the only part of the set I can actually remember!
