Is this no different to the attitude of the looters who think "**** it, I don't care about anyone else's property, livelihoods, or personal safety, as long as I'm alright and my friends are alright"? The image of Britain is important, not to the rest of the world, but to us living here. As l44ry makes the point further up, our society is only ever held together by loose threads. If the rule of law is seen to break down and is believed to have broken down in the eyes of the country, then we should expect more looting and rioting, not just in the places affected last night but beyond.

I'm an Admin on that site abd Acooling is one of the highest donators and posters. I sort of agree with Acooling, this is ghetto violence and oppportunism by majority black youths. I also agree with Nick, the police are institutionally pre disposed to arresting ethnics, even in our lovely city where the South asian based indian community inparticular have the lowest crime commitng rates. My personal experience have been quite horrific at some of the police's actions. Although there maybe some hell bent anger for these youths against the police, but all this 'we have been deprived, no opportunities' doesn't wash with me, my folks and myself have had probably the same opportunities but people from my background have excelled and have driven themselves to prosperity!! It's just about scum causing havoc in our major cities, I hate martial law but if it's the only way to restore order then theres no choice. I feel sorry for the idnependant shop owners and hard workers affected by this.
