Fox92 Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Didn't see a ratings thread. Kasper - 7 - Solid really but nothing much to do. Oakley - 6 Mills - 6.5 Ball - 5 - At fault for the goal, he played a stupid ball and was then beaten for pace. Konchesky - 7 Gallagher - 7 - Involved. Neat header for the goal. Johnson - 6 - Obviously is carrying weight. Came into the second half, neat passing. Moussa - 6 Dyer - 6 Schlupp - 8 - Fantastic all round. Brilliant header in particular. Waghorn - 5 - Should have scored.
paddy Agyemang Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Schully for a starting place if he scores like he has tonight well played to the lad
sorrelite Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Watched this down the side with the Rotherham fans to get a better view. Kasper was confident and took some good high balls and good quick distribution 7 Oakley quietly effective 6 Mills seemed off the pace and woeful passing 5 Ball didn't inspire confidence 5.5 Konchesky got forward to some effect but defending not so good 5 Johnson looked like some old stroller in front of the back 4 and made little impression 5 Dyer worked hard and closed down and made some good runs 6.5 Moussa was excellent, moved well, tackled, pressurised all over midfield 8 Gallagher ran the midfield, scored. made 2 goals but went Hollywood too many times 7.5 Schlupp looked dangerous in the first half; speed and skill and killed them with clinical finishing 9 Waghorn tried hard but woefully under confident 5 Subs N/A All over when they came on. Half time music - Undertones, Clash, Sham 69, Skids 9
David Guiza Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Kasper - 7 - Same kind of display as Saturday with a cracking save to a header in the first half Oakley - 6 - pretty solid Mills - 6 - don't think he was helped by Ball who looked very much off the pace but not his best performance. Ball - 5 - Very off the pace but recovered and look more competent later on, although they barely threatened second half. Konchesky - 7 - solid again Gallagher - 7 - Seemed to be lost until he scored but got a goal and a nice ball cor Schlupps second Johnson - 6 - Some good passing but can't say I noticed him too much. Moussa - 6 - Ditto Dyer - 6 - Usual Dyer performance and still has no final ball when he got in decent positions. Schlupp - 8 - Proper Strikers hat-trick, great anticipation for the 3rd. Waghorn - 5 - So low on confidence and really should have scored.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Kasper - 7 - Solid really but nothing much to do. Oakley - 6 Mills - 6.5 Ball - 5 - Did nothing, not fit at all Konchesky - 7 Gallagher - 6 - decent but didnt do anything special. (missed the goal aswell since i was getting a drink) Johnson - 5 - not fit at all still Moussa - 6 Dyer - 6 Schlupp - 9- Fantastic all round. gave defence trouble. START HIM ON SATURDAY :scarf: Waghorn - 5 - Should have scored. 1st half we was poor but after svens bollocking we controlled the game
Sods Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Bit harsh on Johnson, only player showing for the ball first half, with attacking midfielders of Moussa, Gallagher, Dyer he had to sit in front of the back four. Second half started well then fitness came into place as he lost the ball. The talent is there! Ball was out of position, was at fault for first goal giving the ball away, but distribution from all the back four wasn't great due to the midfield or forwards not showing for the ball. Different team second half, I thought Gally was fantastic at the heart of every attack in the middle of the park. Was also fantastic to see Schlupp taking his man on, getting balls into box and getting the goals he deserved. Waghorn should have scored but was pissed me off most was why he wasnt at the end of Schlupps ball moments later! Get to the next chance!
Father Ted Posted 9 August 2011 Posted 9 August 2011 Schmeichel 7 - apart from the goal couldn't do much. Pulled off a wonder save at 1-0 I think to keep us in it. Oakley 6.5 - solid enough. No danger came down his side. Ball 5 - not great, at fault for the goal. Loves hoof ball. Le Fondre spanked him first half. Mills 6 - Average. Some bad passing. Konchesky 6 - Good attacking support but was a weak link in the air. Johnson 6 - Didn't notice him much at all. Moussa 7 - Good game imo. Gallagher 8 - Top performance and pushing for a start on Saturday. Schlupp 10 - Perfect debut. Waghorn 7 - Put his shift in but with no end product. Seems to try TOO hard. Dyer 6 - Didn't even know he was there tbh.
Guest Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Kasper - 7 couple of decent saves early on not much chance with the goal. Oakley - 6 Out of position but filled in Mills - 7 Not a great performance but his defensive assistance was a mess, covering for Ball must have been a nightmare Ball - 3 Terrible, perhaps he's just not fit but I wouldn't count on it. Konchesky - 7 good going forward, okay in defence but clearly had concerns with Ball's positioning Gallagher - 9 Class above the others, great goal and some fantastic linking play. He's in for vassell in my opinion. Johnson - 6 Looks like he'll be decent for us but he's not fit. Moussa - 6 lacked confidence but looked good in the second half, didn't really know his role. Dyer - 7 one of the better players last night but too central most of the time. He's a good passer ( I didn't say crosser) Schlupp - 8 - Not sure what he was doing for the first 30 mins, didn't know his role. After our first was a danger whenever he had the ball in their half. Natural goalscorer Waghorn - 4.5 lacks confidence and skill. should have bagged a couple easily didn't.
tartanowl Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 How did Adam le Fondre (number 10 striker) play? There are very strong rumours going about that he will be our latest signing. We've been linked with him for a long time.
danny. Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 were we playing 4-3-3 or 4-4-2? cant tell from the way people are grouping ratings
andog Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 How did Adam le Fondre (number 10 striker) play? There are very strong rumours going about that he will be our latest signing. We've been linked with him for a long time. Didn't really stand out for me, had a few ambitious attempts, only time he really threatened was in his involvement with the own goal. We dominated possession last night, Rotherham didn't see a lot of the ball, and when they did they looked 'rushed' on the ball. Not a lot to report, I still think he's got the quality just didn't get a major chance to show it last night

The worry I have is whether he'll be able to make the step up when/if we get promoted.
Bezzanator89 Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Wow, Ball is getting a battering in the ratings.
kingfox Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Ball is shit he hasn't played for two years, not good enough and a pointless signing. We really didn't need him to be fair.
Fox92 Posted 10 August 2011 Author Posted 10 August 2011 Wow, Ball is getting a battering in the ratings. He looked very poor. He gave the ball away numerous times (one time led to the Mills own goal) and he was also beaten for pace easily as well (especially for the goal). I don't see what he offers, and in my opinion, Bruno Berner is more steady. Don't think Le Fondre is good enough for a higher division. I maybe wrong, but he didn't stand out that much.
Dan Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Kasper - 7 Oakley - 7 Mills - 6 Ball - 5 Konchesky - 6 Moussa - 7 Dyer - 5 Johnson - 6 Waghorn - 5 Gallagher - 8 Schlupp - 9
MGLCFC Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 I thought Oakley was very good last night - he knows he's not in Sven's plans yet played out of position and was very professional in what he did.
FazzaF Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Ball is getting a pasting in this week's ratings Hopefully he will gain match fitness soon
Scow Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 I thought Oakley was very good last night - he knows he's not in Sven's plans yet played out of position and was very professional in what he did. I completely agree with this. Defended competently and used the ball very well – even got forward to good effect on a few occasions. Apart from Schlupp, I thought he was our best player.
sdb Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Ball is shit he hasn't played for two years, not good enough and a pointless signing. We really didn't need him to be fair. Wow. That's some pretty bold statements. Bold and most likely, incorrect.
Guest Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Wow. That's some pretty bold statements. Bold and most likely, incorrect. I think there's a better chance they are correct> Ball WAS shit last night
wakeyfox01 Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Nothing like going over the top and writing a player off after one game eh?
Jaspa Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 I only saw the highlights, but listned in. From what I saw Ball looked huge, well off standard. But I think he has got quality lurking underneath some of them rolls o'flab, and when he gets fit again he will be a very good experienced head in the team. Great back up, and could teach a few kids in the club who are thinking it could be glum future that they still have good futures if they fight. Best of luck to him
Guest Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Nothing like going over the top and writing a player off after one game eh? Come on - 2 games. If you were there you'd be writing the fatboy off too. He was just a slow roly poly who wasn't where he should be and didn't do what he should do. Hope he loses 2 stone, gains a yard or two of speed and remembers how to play.
