Ashley Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Plans are in place, for the 'Kop' and the Family Stand to be swapped around. However the only stumbling block is that should the 'Kop' and Family Stand swap, the family stand has 680 seats less than the 'Kop'. I do realise this is another thread about the 'Kop' and Family Stand, just thought I'd let you all know. Foxes Trust, Lisa etc might be able to post more information on this!

Plus the police cells are under the away end and L Block I think. Then again, our ground is exactly the same layout as Pride Park and the away fans sit where are kop is...
m00nie Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 this may be why they have now changed the childrens football schemes to a1/a2 c1/c2 rather than the family stand.. move them over to allow more space.. thing is they have left it too late now, needed to be done before a seaason as people wouldnt want to move during a season
m00nie Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Well im not moving... from where?? where are you now?? if your in the kop but got your same seat oppositie end would it make any difference?? wouldnt you prefer the kop next to the away fans to hopefully sing intime with l1 which should in effect make the noise seem louder, thus getting more people involved also..

If its called the family stand then people will know it will be full of kids and if they try and stand in there, they will get many many more complaints..... If its called the Kop then people will be a lot more relaxed in what they say how often they stand and it will just be more relaxed in general. Sure there can be kids in the Kop but isnt there a rule where no swearing is allowed in the family stand? ( been years since i went in it )

( been years since i went in it ) there wasnt a rule of that when i spent a whole season in it in the prem.
JoeyB Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 are you sure about this? because from what i was told yesterday, with the redevelopment of the shop, they have placed a tunnel into the family end, so that during the game if they want they can walk into the shop to buy merchandise etc. there is also a table football for half time and sweets that they hope kids will buy at half time..... i don't think they will have built that if there gonna swap it round........ unless its done for next season......

Obviously not everyone will move but I'm pretty sure there's a lot of families who sit in the family stand because they don't want to be in the kop because of language etc etc
