Seen width isn't everything and when it is needed Danns and Fernandes seem more than willing to provide and closing down from the front has gone from not possible to very effective and seems to give us plenty of impetus.

Like I say, at home against teams that sit deeper and dig in, I think that formation is too narrow. If we were to sign a classy winger who can deliver the ball, however, a regular 4-4-2 could be the way to go. The major difference today for me is having a man on the shoulder of the defender. Against Reading Nugent was having to come deep and Reading were able to play so high up the pitch.

kingfox Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Very good performance so far. Nugent looks very good again today, lively and has help which is a bonus. Danns and Fernandes were the pick of the first half, Wellens pulling the strings well in the defensive of the midfield. Defence looks calm and assured, Mills looking better still too much hoof ball though, Pantsil looking consistent. All about our closing down and neat passing, were also making Forest rush crosses which seems to be frustrating them. Hopefully we can keep this up and nick another goal, it's certainly there today.

It's not hard because so far this season we've been awful, even against Coventry although we won the game, but this is the best we've played so far I think, dunno if it's a dodgy Forest defence making us look good but we look very strong attacking. Vassell making the difference? I think so.

We are being helped by a poor Forest so far but we look very solid and are dominating so far. Is this the same team that lost two games in a row?
