Ian Stringer someone killed him!! Total shambles on keeping fans updated with transfer deadline and radio Leicester total shite too!

Just what you'd expect from local BBC.

Radio 5 not much better tbh... mainly interested in Premierleague

Remember when he was everyone's source?

Then Twitter became big, and the 90%+ success rate of Fourth_Official etc made Stringer obsolete + there's no need to tune in to a crap radio show

You understood that?

And what ever you want to say about R5L it's much better than talksport - listened to that for 5 hours earlier (signal for R5L was atrocious) and about 4.5 of those hours were used to talk about Joe Cole and that, incase you didn't hear when we mentioned 5 seconds ago, he's gone to some french club on loan.

The prat from the mercury Rob Tanner hasn't shone himself in glory writing kebe in talks in a report done this afternoon! Had he bothered to check he would have read reading issued no business this morning for outgoings! Which was in their press and eurosport, Tanners gone to shit!

This was the same guy who said on the eve of the new season "Wellens Expected To Be Captain" and he wasn't.

That said, he's a mile better than Blanderson.

Back to Stringer, I personally don't like him but in comparison to Nev "Errr" Foulger, he's a commentating genius.

1. Stringer got everything right today

2. He didn't Tweet or announce anything superfluous to what he knew

3. He speaks as a fan

4. He acts as a fan (he stood with us in the terraces pre-season at Kettering, and persuaded the club to help him travel to Austria and Sweden)

5. He's honest, hard working, and friendly

He puts up with a heck of a lot from the fans and deserves a break.

Don't see anything wrong with what he did today. He put in the time, waiting around at the stadium on the chance that something might happen. Then when the whole Beckford situation arose, he spent time trying to get a decent interview etc instead of wasting time tweeting.

I'm happy with that tbh. Good lad!

I'll stick my neck out. I like him. He chats shite sometimes. But he's a true City fan and he's better than Nev Foulger and that old lot.

What was wrong with Nev???

Must admit, Stringer has grown on me, even if his commentating could improve (Ie - talk a bit more about the football sometimes, rather then hairstyles).

Nev wasn't a trained commentator but did a good job for many years.

Stringer is much better than Barber and Young better than some of the summarisers from the past. Not mentioning any names.

I put most of the hatred aimed at Stringer on the site down to jealously

He is at the club knowing whats going on "most" of the time and then there is us, sat at a laptop at midnight fretting about the Beckford deal

Granted at times he is annoying, but hey aint we all

Im happy we have someone close to the club that tweets and keeps us, the fans up to date as best he can

This.

He'd have got a tonne of shite if he'd been tweeting rumours that didn't come true.

Listening to some of the other local BBC commentators makes you realise how good Mr Stringer is. He's a fan like us and this commentary reflects the high's and low's as we feel them. Love his enthusiasm for our club. Best we have had.

The Stringer/Young combo is alaways worth a listen
