Mike the Metal Ed Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 What about the one when we signed Jimmy Nielsen, Carl Cort and Shaun Newton? That was pretty special, too.
Danno Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 THE. BEST. EVER. Wouldnt really say it was the best ever in terms of signings, yes Beckford is a good signing but i wanted 2 really.
Ozwin Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Wouldnt really say it was the best ever in terms of signings, yes Beckford is a good signing but i wanted 2 really. I'm sorry, did I imagine the other 10 or so players we'd signed this summer or something?
Kitchandro Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Shouldn't we be reflecting at the end of the season when we know how the players have performed? For excitement though, it has been the best ever, if that's what you mean. I really hope we merge the Maynard threads and put them in the classic section.
Danno Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 I'm sorry, did I imagine the other 10 or so players we'd signed this summer or something? we still have shite wingers, though.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Annoyed that it took all day to finally announce Beckford, was hoping we could of got Kebe aswell. I can expect us loaning another striker since we couldn't get Jelavic
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Annoyed that it took all day to finally announce Beckford, was hoping we could of got Kebe aswell. I can expect us loaning another striker since we couldn't get Jelavic A winger, I reckon.
Jaspa Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Happy, but not chuffed. We've needed a quality winger or two for ages and we havnt got one. This should get sorted with loans, but sooner rather than later. I think we shouldve got a backup keeper in too, because Weale isn't good enough to walm the bench. Would love to still have Ricardo over him. Beckford came to me as abit of an anticlimax, given the '8.5M' fees and the whole Nicky Maynard obsession of the past eight years. But looking at it on a level, he's a prolific borderline-Premier striker, who can definatly do the bizz at this level and is much improved from his time in the Prem. We need two wingers pronto tho. If we havnt got them in two weeks after the Prem teams have announced their 25's, I'm going to be very pissed off. Overall great window, hope it's better next year hehehe
topharry123 Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 The most exciting yet the most frustrating ever, especially the last couple of weeks! Kind of glad it's over, but really looking forward now to firstly seeing who we bring in on loan, and secondly how Beckford gets on!
Guest Col city fan Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 See how many signings west ham have made.. And some twerps on here pre season said they'd have no money!! lol I think we needed another player or two to really compete to be honest.. But it's good to get a proven goalscorer
Dicko Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Given the players that we've signed, including a Premiership-class striker on deadline day, it's good to see that our fans can still look for the negatives! Leicester fans
MC Prussian Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 We've signed 12 players up until yesterday, 13 if you include the new deal for Tunchev. There's healthy competition in all departments now, all it takes is a few more wins to get us back on track. Extraordinary. EDIT: There might still be one or two loan deals coming up, so...
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 It's been the most exciting in my time following city that's for sure. Being able to pick up so many players with (good) prem experience has given us alot to be optimistic about.
Blueasafox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Given the players that we've signed, including a Premiership-class striker on deadline day, it's good to see that our fans can still look for the negatives! Leicester fans THIS........
VinceNoir Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 It's been really exciting this summer! Linked with loads of players and sealing some good signings. The Maynard saga dragged out, but it was still exciting to see the amount of money we were capable of offering, which shows that these are good times for the club, financially. The one thing that has annoyed me about all of this transfer speculation are the "I fink we shud of signed Fryatt i does, he is world class. Sven out" like topics, which are really lame. Other than that, an exciting summer! We've got a great squad. Bring on the season

Leicester fans I don't disagree with you dicko... We've made some good signings as I said in the pre season. However, I did want to see us sign a pacey winger as I believe this is where the team has fallen short so far. Shame we couldn't get Kebe but there you go...
MGLCFC Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 When the loan market opens I can see others moving out on loan Howard Moussa Oakley + a few more youngsters I don't know what has happened with Moreno as he just seems happy to take the money and not play. I still think Sven will bring in another striker and winger on loan - maybe Fuller from Stoke now they have signed Crouch and Jerome and hopefully Townsend from Spurs, whilst Vincente is a free agent and Sven might try to take him from under the noses of Brighton like he did with Danns from Rangers.

Fuller is crocked so won't be moving anywhere for a while.
Nunny Fox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Im happy with the business Sven has done, some really good signings, he knows we need a winger so i think he must have a few lined up for loans when PL squads come out. Compared to this time last year i think our SQUAD is infinitely better with depth all over the pitch. Lets just remember we are LCFC in the championship where any of 10 teams could realistically go up I dint expect players like Kebe/Maynard to clamber at the chance of joining us. Very positive window in my opinion.
tyneside fox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Think we have made some cracking signings over the summer and the Beckford signing IMO was the icing on the cake for me, quality player . Would like to see a few loan signings come in, a goalie and a pacy winger would be good.
Jimbo Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 I'm very happy with the signings we've made, it has been the most productive transfer period for us in many years. Gone are the days of bringing in players like Andy Johnson, Josh Low and Carl Cort. But at the risk of sounding like a typical negative Leicester fan, we really did need at least 1 winger. Someone with pace and trickery and can put in a good cross. Someone to drag his opposing player back into their own half and stop opposing fullbacks getting forward and allow ours to do the opposite, because in the opening games so far this season it seems to me this has been a major problem for us. Oh well, the loan window opens soon, let the fun begin all over again
OLD norfox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 This has been the best transferwindow for decades. Look at who's arrived : Kaspar Peltier Mills STL Paintsil Konch Ball Danns Gelson Johnson Nugent Beckford How many of them will play 1.teamfootball ? I guess a lot of them
