KIRBYFOX93 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Personally i thought he was our man o the match no silly mistakes, a brilliant goal bound tackle and an all round comanding pressence at the back and good distribution including 2 or 3 long passes very impressed. Think we are seein the five mil we paye for him however he must be consistant. Up the blues

cc_star Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Cardiff played with 1 upfront who was injured, who's replacement was injured & who's replacement again was injured If he didn't look at least reasonable something would be massively wrong Saying that, there was a couple of times Cardiff had a man unmarked in the box as Mills & Bamba were both drawn to the ball like a moth to a flame. He's also king of the hoof & makes Hobbs look like a cultured continental player. So there's still a hell of a way to go before we get the flags out & become contenders for the title like we all hope. But it was an improvement which again is another positive step & that's a good thing.
nuttytimmy Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 By far his best performance to date and, yes, there were a few mistakes. But a clean sheet is a clean sheet and I like the look of Mills and Bamba at the back (and I have been a harsh critic up to now)
Fox92 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 I thought Mills was better yesterday. I thought he was the man of the match, and looked like the Mills we all knew at Reading. Only thing that worries me, the game was on television and as the Reading fans said, he always looks better on tv. Does he though? If he plays like he did yesterday all season, he will be fantastic for us and will take some beating.
Tommy G Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Puts in a solid performance and people still moan. No wonder his confidence is rock bottom. Same old moaners, they will always have something to critic.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Mills had a superb game against Cardiff imo. Up the Foxes
GGBluebird Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Mills was the best center half i have seen this year against Cardiff. Maybe even the best iv seen at the new stadium. But from a Cardiff fans point of view and the last 2 games, i would have thought St Ledger looks better than Bamba

Funny that you prefered St. Ledger to Bamba too, not many people will agree with you! :L
unreachable Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Mills had a superb game against Cardiff imo. Up the Foxes I should hope he did against two dwarf strikers and one injured one. Admittedly, he "looked" good and hope he can keep taller more physical strikers at bay.

Yes he needs consistancy and we're going to see that in forthcoming games, but you can only play whats in front of you and Mills was solid in the defence.
blueharmie Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 he had a great game. looked solid and worth that price tag on yesterdays performance, guy needs to be given a break.
Charl91 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Very good game. Now let's see him do this not on tv

Bugg Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Very good game. Now let's see him do this not on tv Luckily we're playing against Derby on TV too so we should expect to see another outstanding performance

Matt Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Taking nothing away from him, because he was good yesterday I seem to remember when we signed him and a couple of Reading fans came on saying he wasn't all he was cracked up to be, but whenever he plays on TV he seems to have a stormer of a game, everyone just put it down to them being abit bitter, however some of the performances we've seen from him so far this season it could be argued they have a point, although i'm still giving Mills time and hoping he comes good/carries on where he left off against Cardiff. As I said taking nothing away from him just think it's something to bear in mind from the reports Reading fans gave of him.

I doubt St Ledger would've dealt with Mackail-Smith with the ease Bamba did.
connor_19 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 I do think Mills had a good game defensively, just think his ball distribution was poor! I remember him lumpin the ball up front 3 or 4 times just into space and not into strikers feet
Maybes Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Him and Bamba have been quality in the last 3 games. Mills vs Cardiff and Bamba vs Barnsley and Brighton. Forming a nice partnership.

Was speaking to bamba yesterday, he seemed very happy not only in his partnership with mills, but the back five as a whole. They were beginning to know each others games now.
