Larry_LCFC Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Can't see anything other than a Leicester defeat I'm afraid. No real attacking options on the bench other than Schlupp. Beckford needs to do something this game otherwise the fans morons will start turning on him soon. Anyone bad mouthing beckford this early in should just get mauled by a bear.
Fox92 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Anyone bad mouthing beckford this early in should just get mauled by a bear. Bit harse Emnes for them playing? Sadly, yes.
GH1 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Danns should be starting IMO. But in Sven we trust
Matt Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Carl Ikeme in goal for Middlesborough? City there are NO excuses whatsoever tonight. You better win. Teamtalk - Done.
MikeyT Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Boro team for those interested. Middlesbrough 13. Carl Ikeme 29. Tony McMahon 4. Matthew Bates 14. Rhys Williams 2. Justin Hoyte 17. Barry Robson 10. Nicky Bailey 38. Faris Haroun 3. Joe Bennett 9. Marvin Emnes 7. Scott McDonald Subs: 5. Merouane Zemmama 8. Kevin Thomson 18. Julio Arca 26. Alex Nimely 6. Stephen McManus
Rincewind Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Just had the recording of last season V Boro. A hat-trick and a Weale PENALTY SAVE. Was I dreaming? Where's that pin? I thought Weale NEVER saved a penalty in his life.
SPF07 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Anyone else concerned by the distinct lack of width week in week out. As for tonight, the four most central of central midfielders with very little pace. At least when we play Fernandes or Danns they have the energy levels to get wide when possible. Not saying this wont work in some games but worried offensively and defensively with this formation. Little creativity and if teams are tactically aware they will get at us down the wings. Also, everyone keeps banging on about Johnson being an attacking threat. If so, why on Sunday and possibly tonight did he take the 'defensive' midfield role?
MikeyT Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 no keeper on the bench for them? Apparently not. I mean i copied this directly from the Boro website so presuming it's correct.
Salieri Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 We shouldn't fear anyone in this league with the players we have. That's not arrogance it's fact. There's been signs of improvements lately now let's step up and take all 3 points. 6th by the end of the evening.

Also, everyone keeps banging on about Johnson being an attacking threat. If so, why on Sunday and possibly tonight did he take the 'defensive' midfield role? Because of his passing ability and the way he drives forward. He played the holding role but not in the same way as someone like Makelele.
ballso Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Apparently not. I mean i copied this directly from the Boro website so presuming it's correct. let's hope old ikeme get's a knock then!
Rincewind Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 I'm sure Sven has picked the team aftter studying Boro. He has had a few days to think about it.

Fox92 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Ikeme is obviously playing behind a good Middlesborough defence. In my opinion, we should be shooting all the time and testing Ikeme, because in the games he did play, we all know he looked dodgy so the players must have an idea - the ones that played with him anyway. Just had the recording of last season V Boro. A hat-trick and a Weale PENALTY SAVE. Was I dreaming? Where's that pin? I thought Weale NEVER saved a penalty in his life. To be fair, it was a very poor penalty. But a save is a save.
Anish Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Stringer talking about Hoilet playing for Boro! It's Hoyte!!
Dan Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Stringer talking about Hoilet playing for Boro! It's Hoyte!! I thought that. He looked very good at the weekend, Hoyte.
Guest shearfox Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Ikeme in goal just shoot guaranteed to score..
Guest BlueBrett Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Sounds like they're all over us at the minute. I still think we'll win but then I always do.
StanSP Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Hating the way Young is saying 'Emnes'. Making it sound like 'M&S'. Young just said 'Bamba is 6ft 5 but when he jumps he's 5ft 8'. Almost as good as Stringer's 'peeling a carrot with a hammer' comment sometime last season.
