It doesn't necessarily mean Sven's told them to just defend. This. Even top 4 Prem teams will be under the cosh for the last 10-15 mins of any game where there's only one or two goals in it.

shen Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Mills has been an animal so far, just which he'd play it short a touch more. Nothing against playing it long but he does it 90% of the time. Indeed, the whole move for the disallowed goal was started by him. When we do that, King can make his great runs in behind their defence.

Lost the ball in a dangerous position on a couple of occasions and had a poor pop from the edge of the area when King had made a brilliant run into a completely free position. Danns/Kings partnership obviously still needs working on. That said, he takes up good positions in our attacking play, tracked back well when Davies ran down our right and of course, the fine shot for Vassell's goal. Shen if you dont mind me commenting... Danns deffo gave the ball away a few times.. But I get the feeling he's got a lot more in his locker when his peckers up! And the shot leading to the second goal was like an arrow. Superb half from city...keep attacking them IMO...

cc_star Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 I've spoken up in favour of Wellens, but... can Wellens & Johnson be injured every week, Fernandes & Danns are zipping around with pace & it's that that Derby haven't been able to live with... Still, just like last season at their place Derby have hardly put a tackle in in the 1st half, so there's plenty of room for them to improve.

Absolutely agree. Maybe it's down to Abe sitting deep and doing the sensible thing (even he has made som excellent forward runs, notably for Vassell's goal). We just look very mobile with Danns, Abe, Fernandes and the front two, with King finding spaces all the time.
