funkyrobot Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 The peregrine falcon is the fastest animal on the planet. Just though I'd throw that in. Faster than Howard? I don't think so!
AKCJ Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 I'm not going to lie, I sat there looking at it for a good 5 minutes o.o
Rocket-Ron Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Who do you think will be the first to complain on here when it kills it's first pigeon during a game??
m00nie Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 remember doing a stadium tour and the lady was talking about it and yeah she said its for the pigeons
AKCJ Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 remember doing a stadium tour and the lady was talking about it and yeah she said its for the pigeons If you're serious then that is amazing. The owners are doing everything to win this league, even keeping a pigeon from shitting on the pitch. Excellent.
The Doctor Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Why has it been dubbed Yakubu - it was flying around a lot without doing anything - a definite Elvis Hammond.

acooling08 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 If it's been bought in for the Pigeons then that's fvcking brilliant!! If it nails a Pigeon I'll be watching that rather than the game
The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Shows how much I know about birds. I thought it was a pigeon. Same here, then I got berated as my mate said it was a dove
boring_jester Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Shows how much I know about birds. I thought it was a pigeon. Me to. I was thinking anyone watching that pigeon when were winning is a bit special, while at the same time i was pointing at it with a big cheesy smile on my face
Rincewind Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Anyone say what I said to the bloke next to me in the pub? 'I bet he has a birds-eye view.'
GH1 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 We should make the most of this, I know it's a bit of fun but if this was man city there'd be thousands next game jumping up and down wearing falcon T shirts. Better than copying the poznan.
Karljohn Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 My missus was more interested in the bird for ten minutes than the game, Kasper nearly twatted it with the ball once, and he was offside a couple of times but otherwise a great show!
S-win Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 If you're serious then that is amazing. The owners are doing everything to win this league, even keeping a pigeon from shitting on the pitch. Excellent.
acooling08 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 How could anyone think it was a pigeon? Much larger and had the distinctive hooked beak and talons for hunting. I don't know why, I have always loved birds of prey. Eagles, ospreys, kites, hawks, falcons <3. These birds are what the Raptors evolved into.
EnglishOxide Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 If you're serious then that is amazing. The owners are doing everything to win this league, even keeping a pigeon from shitting on the pitch. Excellent. I was speaking to a groundsman yesterday, and he said it just showed up 3 weeks ago. They had no knowledge of it being brought in specificially. It just showed up, and they haven't seen a pigeon since

It just showed up, and they haven't seen a pigeon since Funny how no-one gives a toss about pigeons. Spare a thought for our little feathered friends. Probably nested happily for years in the rafters, followed the cub through thick and thin, now being torn wing from wing by a vicious raptor
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Can I ask a pronunciation question? Peregrine FOLL-con or Peregrine FAHL-con I vote (2). No. 1 is the correct answer, although the second appears to have become acceptable.
cambridgefox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Crap stat no1 We should get a Hobby(bird of prey) latin name Falco Subbuteo,so football themed!
C.J Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 I'm sure one went missing from Rutland water a couple of months ago.
demon_dog Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Has Thracian not been told about this? I can see his report now - " Our latest signing is the high flying speedy predator we have been waiting to see. Not only is he a speedy winger, but is also good at diving, in fact the more I see ,it seems as if he has a killer instinct. The opposition will be terrified whenever he decides to glide over the pitch in a Falconesce style, in fact they seem to become Pigeon toed and run hither thither in disarray at the thought of trying to stop him"
Izzet is God Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I thought he had a terrible game....spent most of it ball watching and the deadly hunting instinct just wasn't there for me....it's a good job we had the other 11 on the pitch
Uncle Phil Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Crap stat no1 We should get a Hobby(bird of prey) latin name Falco Subbuteo,so football themed! The game Subbuteo got it's name from that bird, because they couldn't call it the Hobby or something? Or is that what you were getting at...
