panky and our gang Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Moral compass ? I suppose it's ok if you want to carry one but don't try to shove your own morals down every one else's neck . Brain washing and pc are not too far removed from each other . I hate all religion for instance and find teaching kids such nonsense as morally wrong and evil and as such would never go into a church / Mosque to hear the absolute offensive shite that gets spouted there , but I support their absolute right for them to say such rot .

I don't get your point, your saying what is taught at school is bad, to be honest religious education is very heavily diluted on the religious front. ANd going to church or mosque or footy game are obviously different scenario's.....how does this compare panky!!
Guest MattP Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 If you think 'manning up' and 'taking it' is the way to deal with the holocaust then there's something very, very wrong with you That's not what I said is it? Why do you always do this? I said that's what people did, it didn't make it right, 80% of people who stood in pen one went because they wanted to wind up the opposition by any means neccessary. Nice to see the usual lot on here jump to the most ridiculous conclusions possible again, of course every single person who engages in a risqe chant at the football wants the return of gas chambers and the slave trade just before we go to our KKK meet. I'm surprised some of you lot can get out of bed without having a stroke.

I'm surprised some of you lot can get out of bed without having a stroke. When I remember back to pen 1 I cringe at some of the stuff we used to sing, it was funny granted but some of it was outrageous. I remember one second half V Tottenham and it was just 45 minutes of singing about the Holocaust. Back then you just had to man up and take it, people dont do that anymore, they are ashamed by nothing and offended by everything nowadays. ' Your words. I think it's a great thing that people are challanging this these days, whereas you simply see it as people being offended by everything and not manning up and accepting it. I'm not trying to be smart or clever - that is exactly what I infer from your post. If that's not what you meant then you need to read your content before you post
Babylon Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Moral compass ? I suppose it's ok if you want to carry one but don't try to shove your own morals down every one else's neck . Brain washing and pc are not too far removed from each other. It's not about brain washing or being "PC", it's about being a decent person. Singing about Nottingham being a shit hole or Derby shagging seep is one thing. Singing about someones dead father, a towns gay or Asian population is something else, it goes beyond a bit of ribbing because it's suggesting that the death of someone is funny, or that there is something wrong with Asians and a large Asian population etc. I hate all religion for instance and find teaching kids such nonsense as morally wrong and evil and as such would never go into a church / Mosque to hear the absolute offensive shite that gets spouted there , but I support their absolute right for them to say such rot . So essentially you are claiming freedom of speech and that you can say whatever you want to whomever you want. Would you walk up to Nigel Clough and make a joke about the death off his father to his face. Or go up to a gay person and tell them you have a problem with them? I suggest you wouldn't actually do it to their face on your own, because you would either be shit scared, or something inside would say it's not really the right thing to do. Maybe I'm wrong and you would, but if you wouldn't perhaps you shouldn't do it just because you're in a group of morons at the football, it's no excuse. If you actually think these things are fine then somewhere along the line you've been seriously failed by your parents.
Guest MattP Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 That what I meant, back then you did just have to "man up" - that's the way football fans were. I didn't say it was right. I agree it should be challenged now, I just think we have probably gone too far the other way now and totally killed it dead. At least some of it was original back then mind, id rather hear something offensive thats funny than stuff like L1's "you gay bastards" the other week.
panky and our gang Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Sorry babylon that is not what i meant . Do you think it is ok to tell someone they live in a shit hole then ? or implying that anyone from Derby commits bestiality with sheep is ok ? My point was that shit happens . You will not stop the morons shouting abuse at homosexuals or Asians it is what they do and unfortunately football grounds are a magnet for them , as churches are a magnet for the deluded . Personally I just ignore them and enjoy the game I certainly will not allow them to wind me up .
I am Rod Hull Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Does anyone remember a pedo sex scandal at a kids home in Middlesbrough about 20 years ago. They came to Filbo and we sang "whats it like to shag your kids".... They laughed.... About a year later a similar thing happened in Leicester and the away fans (cant remember who) sang "whats it like to shag your kids".... We laughed.... Oh the irony....
Guest MattP Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Every single set of fans in Scotland sing "who shagged all the bhoys, Celtic Bhoys club" and "Glasgow Celtic peadophiles" at Septic.
Babylon Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Do you think it is ok to tell someone they live in a shit hole then ? or implying that anyone from Derby commits bestiality with sheep is ok? Yes, there is a clear distinction for me between those kinds of lines and the others mentioned. You might be implying they do because of their nickname, but clearly they don't sleep with sheep. Whilst crude and more distasteful, it falls in line with them calling us bin dippers because we're the foxes. The "shit hole" line is just designed to annoy the opposition fans, again it's not really in the same ball park as singing about the death of someone or suggesting there is something wrong with Asians, or Gays etc.
acooling08 Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 A topic about brian clough leads to racism and pc brigade in FoxesTalk shocker!
Dr The Singh Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 A topic about brian clough leads to racism and pc brigade in FoxesTalk shocker! It's what I love about FOxestalk....we could be talking about the death of Bambi's mother and eventually that would lead to a discussion involving racism, pcism, and not to add pooon!
Babylon Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 A topic about brian clough leads to racism and pc brigade in FoxesTalk shocker! It's lead to it because it directly linked to it via the same morons who sang homophobic songs against Brighton, and the same goes for away fans who chant race related stuff to us, are you one of those morons? There is nothing "PC" about the discussion, it's about not being a complete and utter numpty who's lack of IQ leads them to believe singing about someones dead dad ( who happens to be sat 100m away) is hunky dory. I'm all for witty stuff whether it's crude or not, and people can swear to their hearts content, but there are lines where it goes from crude to just plain wrong.
Schlupp Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I don't like to see chants like this,Even thou Brian managed both of our rivals Derby and Forest he's argueably the best manager that ever lived.
Babylon Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Additionally, were SK4 REALLY singing "she said no Sven"? ... the hell!? Yeah they were, there is a group at the back who's mission in life seems to be to get as pissed as possible before kick off and then generally sing shite most of the match. I think they were singing derby songs at one point, they usually abuse most of the players as well... although they couldn't say much on Sat. Lovely bunch.
RonnieTodger Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I can't believe this is even being discussed. It's disgusting, Brian is a legend of the game regardless of who he managed.

Guest MattP Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 What were the Clough songs out of interest? Were they even witty or just braindead Brighton game style nonsense?
Bugg Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 What were the Clough songs out of interest? Were they even witty or just braindead Brighton game style nonsense? They were the normal "He's fat he's round he's six feet underground" chants. But the most brainless and moronic one was "nigel, where's your dad, nigel, nigel, where's your dad" people eh

Corky Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I really have never understood the "she said no, Sven" chants. And the fact that our "fans" have copied Notts Forest in singing that makes it even less comprehensible.
Maybes Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 These couple of chants were indeed coming from L1 on Saturday. Fortunately they managed to be drown owned by a chorus of boo's from a number of people. Braindead idiots.
