ousefox Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Don't care if he managed forest or derby, Brian Clough was a fucking legend. Pathetic chants.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Its called football it creates that Atmosphere that rivallry matches come with.. If u cant handle it dont go simple... Sit at home and watch it on tele like the other 10000 that shuda been there today... Up the blues
Bugg Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Its called football it creates that Atmosphere that rivallry matches come with.. If u cant handle it dont go simple... Sit at home and watch it on tele like the other 10000 that shuda been there today... Up the blues Alright then, I'll come over to you and start singing songs about one of your dead relatives, it's only "banter" afterall. I'm all for creating the atmosphere, but I wouldn't like it if someone started asking where my dad is if he had died, I certainly wouldn't see it as "banter"
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Its called football it creates that Atmosphere that rivallry matches come with.. If u cant handle it dont go simple... Sit at home and watch it on tele like the other 10000 that shuda been there today... Up the blues I helped make plenty of atmosphere all match, none of which involved insulting the memory of one of the best managers this country ever produced. At least you didn't insult anyones intelligence by calling it 'banter' though. "Aha. Your dad's dead!"
jonno24 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 I think that anybody who participated in such chanting should look at themselves in the mirror and hang there heads in shame for today they have shown the worst of themselves. I was watching the match down my local with a mate who is a rams fan and he had a son who died of cancer at the age of 8 yet somehow when every goal went in i managed to control myself and not take the piss out of his dead son. Also anybody who is trying to condone this behaviour by using the excuse about the atmosphere and the passion of certain fans. They also need to have a serious thnk about what there defending and how they would feel if this kind of chant was aimed at them. I get the feeling that they would be outraged
Filberts Treat Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 This is a football match. Your gonna get chants like that. Don't take yourselves too serious. If offended u know where welford road is....
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Not offended, a bit embarrassed for some people. Don't see how it's singing for the team, nor does it show a glimmer of wit. Just don't understand it is all.
cardifflee Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 If you dont like the banter dont go simple anyone with a brain cell knows what gets sung at football get a life oh and daggers i go in l1 meet me there and call me that !!!!!
BoneDog Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 The songs about Clough are just wrong. By all means take the p*ss out of away fans or managers all you like but to sing a song like the Brian Clough one to the mans son is just demented. If I was stood next to anyone singing the songs I would definitely tut loudly whilst rolling my eyes followed by a shake of the head. I mean, what else can you do unless you want to run the risk of getting into a fist fight. I just hope that less and less people decide to join in with these songs until soonish they are no more. Very unsavoury.
shade Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 It's a football match mate, not a personality contest. Not a fan of the chants in question although I was in l1, thought it was good in there today, don't think I'm a cvnt though and there werent many cvnts around me, just a load of passionate football fans, but they are frowned upon these days. Shame really. 1 in 3 people is a cünt. are your mum or dad cünts? if not then you statistically, probably are?
Phube Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Don't care if he managed forest or derby, Brian Clough was a fucking legend. Pathetic chants. What he said... And how is it retaliation for the "Asian" chants? Was Cloughie Jnr. singing them...? Insult the other fans, their City if you must. But taking the piss out of dead family members, yeah good one! You can take the piss out of the dead welsh miners next time Cardiff come... hey it's "banter"!!
Fox92 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 This is a football match. Your gonna get chants like that. Don't take yourselves too serious. If offended u know where welford road is.... Singing songs about a dead person shouldn't happen at a football match. And because I don't like it, I should watch Rugby instead? No. I go to the football to support Leicester City FC, I'm not interested in winding opposition fans up, and I certainly don't like these songs belted around our home ground. What does it do for the club? How many other clubs sing this? But, no, it always seems to happen at our games, sung by our fans. Brian Clough is a legend, he's one of my footballing heroes. These songs shouldn't occur. Why don't people just get behind the team?
Raj Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 There has to be a line when it comes to banter. There was a time when "town ful of pakies' used to hack me off,now i just laugh at the knuckeldraggers. If you are a level headed person you will know that singing songs about a dead person is wrong. FULL STOP Singing songs about a footballing legend (there is no question he was, anyone who doubts it needs to question what they know about football) who' son is in the dugout is just dispicable. It probably like the folk who sing about Hillsboro, munich, heysel etc...
Webbo Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Whether Brian Clough was a legend or not is immaterial . Mocking someone because their dad is dead is sick and pathetic.
lcfc_sam_p Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Everyone saying what if someone sang that about your dad, if I was in his job and on his money I wouldn't care less to be honest
Webbo Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Everyone saying what if someone sang that about your dad, if I was in his job and on his money I wouldn't care less to be honest Doesn't make it right.
BlueSi13 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Everyone saying what if someone sang that about your dad, if I was in his job and on his money I wouldn't care less to be honest Bollocks, i could be as rich as Carlos Slim, but if i see some rat faced tosser pointing at me, laughing, and chanting stuff about one of my dead family members, a family member whom that person has never met, especially if that family member had achieved more in a day than the little runt will probably achieve in his/her entire life....i'd be rather upset and angry lets put it like that. Yesterday was a great day for our club and the atmosphere at times was brilliant, but why a certain number of our fans have to let our club down week after week makes me want to pull my hair out. Think.
acooling08 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Too young to really know much about Clough to be honest, but apparently he was a racist and a homophobic bully who won big honours for Forest and Derby.. sounds like a cvnt deserving of being mocked to me. I wouldn't join in with those songs though because it's very cruel for Nigel who I quite like.

Then you should have just stopped there before making such crash dumbass comments about something you know nothing about. I'll put it down to you being young.

acooling08 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 And your evidence for this is what ? Remember you dont know too much about him Didn't he ban John Fashanu from training with Forest when he came out as gay? From wiki. Clough's time at Forest saw him at odds with the late Justin Fashanu whose goals and then confidence dried up as he failed to fit in with the playing and lifestyle demands of Clough. When Clough discovered Fashanu's homosexuality he barred Fashanu from training with the side. Clough recounts a dressing down he gave Fashanu after hearing rumours that he was going to gay bars. "'Where do you go if you want a loaf of bread?' I asked him. 'A baker's, I suppose.' 'Where do you go if you want a leg of lamb?' 'A butcher's.' 'So why do you keep going to that bloody poofs' club?"
jonno24 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Didn't he ban John Fashanu from training with Forest when he came out as gay? From wiki. Ah that font of absolute truth I remember once we were signing Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink because he had seen the size of Daggers anus
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Banter is all well and good but singing about a mans dead father in such a way isn't funny. Brian Clough might have been a twat in many ways, but I doubt that'll carry much weight as an argument to his son. The Derby fans singing the Small Town in Asia songs are cvnts as well though, I'm not sure why so many cvnt fans think those songs are funny. derby fans are ***** anyway, but songs about his dad were unacceptable. there's banter, and then there's taking it too far

Small town in Asia song is banter and mildly amusing as it refers to our Asian population - that is not racist. Songs about cloughies dad are a tad too far. We can sing it to forest butto Cloughie junoir - that's too far.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Chants like these are not made by true supporters, but a hand full of sick scumbags, that belong in a zoo. There is a massive difference between banter, and insulting, insensitive, garbage like this.
