fleckneymike Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Chants like these are not made by true supporters, but a hand full of sick scumbags, that belong in a zoo. There is a massive difference between banter, and insulting, insensitive, garbage like this. I'd disagree. These people are supporters. Sadly what the lack in wit and ingenuity they make up for in passion!
thybluefox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Small town in Asia song is banter and mildly amusing as it refers to our Asian population - that is not racist. Songs about cloughies dad are a tad too far. We can sing it to forest butto Cloughie junoir - that's too far. That song isn't racist? How isn't it? They're singing it because they're trying to be derogatory about our large Asian population.
Guest Bilo Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Too young to really know much about Clough to be honest, but apparently he was a racist and a homophobic bully who won big honours for Forest and Derby.. sounds like a cvnt deserving of being mocked to me. I wouldn't join in with those songs though because it's very cruel for Nigel who I quite like. Clough was no racist, he had numerous black players on his books including the first black player to play for England in Viv Anderson as well as being chairman of the Anti-Nazi League. He was however virulently homophobic and his disgraceful treatment of Justin Fashanu shows this. He was also an alcoholic and had become something of a liability by the time of his retirement as a result.

I do hate to be an apologist... but I believe 90% of people born pre-1960 have some homophobic tendencies... Let alone a person in Football, still only ONE openly gay footballer in 150 years... Hmmm?

I think in many ways Clough was 'of his time' rather than anything else, his man management approach wouldn't much work in these days either.

Of course its racist you fool You think if folk sang"town full of niggRs" to Supporters of Highfield rangers or something its not racist?

Kitchandro Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Probably is out of order against Derby cos his son is the manager. No problem with singing it to Forest fans though.

cardifflee Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 if after a 4-0 win all you can do is rush home and post shite like this you really do need to go and watch the egg chasers your not gonna stop it so deal with it
Ambitious Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Nah that is going too far. He was an excellent manager, shame he never came to us .
Corky Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Probably is out of order against Derby cos his son is the manager. No problem with singing it to Forest fans though. Didn't Nigel spend a large part of his career at Forest?
Kitchandro Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Didn't Nigel spend a large part of his career at Forest? Yeh but he's not there now. He wouldn't be there to hear it.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Where's your Dad?? Quite. I lost my parents when I was very young. If anyone disrespected their memory to this day, and in the future, I would kill them. FACT. Some people have no souls.
panky and our gang Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Well i heard some thing even more pathetic at the match . Some whiny voice twat announced over the speakers that swearing / bad language would not be tolerated any where in the ground and any doing so would be ejected from the ground . Well I have news for you Mr announcer , you had better get a lot more stewards and police in next time because as far as I am aware SHIT is a very naughty word . So next time at least fifteen thousand plus fans shout at the opposing keeper aaaaaaaah your SHIT wahhhhh it is going to be a mother of all chucking out competition . :crylaugh: :crylaugh:
Salieri Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Well at least this thread has exposed some of the lowlife on here. Anyone who thinks this sort of chant is funny/acceptable is clearly devioid of any degree of humanity. It's not just 'banter', it's sick.

Oh no, people on Foxestalk think I'm a lowlife Brian Clough was a twat. I only respect who I feel deserves it, alive or not. That doesnt mean I don't care for anyone and have no humanity.

Kitchandro Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 I think you're missing the point. Think what you may about Clough senior, why abuse his son (who has lost his dad)? Like I said that's probably a bit uncalled for, but it's a different story when it's against Forest and similar chants are sung. Especially after their reaction to the Clive Clarke incident. Anyway, saying people are 'devoid of any degree of humanity' for something like this is OTT just because they don't care if Nigel Clough's feelings are hurt. Saying it's harsh and insensitive is fair enough.

Kitchandro Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 So, two wrongs make a right? Yes? I didn't say that. I just mean they can hardly complain. And frankly I don't care what they think.
Salieri Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 I didn't say that. I just mean they can hardly complain. And frankly I don't care what they think. And neither do I. Some of the chants they have come out with are equally braindead. The chant was personal towards Nigel Clough, not the Derby fans.
Bert Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 It's a football match mate, not a personality contest. Not a fan of the chants in question although I was in l1, thought it was good in there today, don't think I'm a cvnt though and there werent many cvnts around me, just a load of passionate football fans, but they are frowned upon these days. Shame really. Yeah I know. The way I see it, I'd hate it if them songs were bring dung about my dad, so what right do I have to sing them, as well it being a pretty sad thing to do.
volpeazzurro Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Being from a certain era, I used to actually look forward to Clough senior appearing on the television as he was certainly a character who, regardless of upsetting the FA heirachy (or anyone else for that matter), said what he thought. His comments invariably included big doses of truth which made some people squirm. 'Ole big ead' was usually right and I for one agreed with quite a bit of his footballing philosophies, some of which Martin O'Neil brought to Leicester. He was a class act as a footballer and a hugely successful manager. I too feel sorry for Nigel having to put up with such crap. Afterall, theres banter and theres banter. I found his book a funny, informative and very entertaining read albeit I think he did offer the opinion that the only good things to come out of Leicester were woolly jumpers! Cheers.
