Jon the Hat Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 We will only see MON in management again at a top 6 prem club with an open chequebook.
Corky Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 O'Neill wants a bigger job than Forest, I'm sure a couple of Premiership managers will go soon and he'll be more interested in something like that.
Guest Bilo Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 We will only see MON in management again at a top 6 prem club with an open chequebook. Probably right to be honest. If AFI couldn't tempt him here when it was a straight fight between him and Sven, Forest in their current situation have zero hope.
Happy Fox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Wasn't their talk of this Irish Consortium (Magners)? taking over Forest paving the way for MON to take over? or was that simply bullshitt.
Guest Bilo Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Not sure how true that was. RedHux is a-lurking however, he may be able to fill us in.
RedHux Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 ltlf is broken.. Anyway, the Irish thing was a big pile of nonsense that started at Vitalforest, as many big piles of nonsense do. Doughty's only stepped down as chairman but he's still the owner and will no doubt spend his cash more freely now he has no say in where it goes.
Matt Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 MON - 6/1 Stuart Pearce - 8/1 Roy Keane - 8/1 Alan Curbishley - 8/1 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - 10/1 Dave Jones - 10/1 Nigel Clough - 10/1 Lee Clark - 14/1 Derek McInnes - 14/1 Karl Robinson - 16/1 Brian Laws - 16/1 Sean O'Driscoll - 18/1 Paul Ince - 20/1 Iain Dowie 25/1 Kevin Blackwell - 33/1 Walter Smith - 33/1 Sky Bet. Really can't see MON going there, I personally reckon he'll be Wenger replacement at some point this season, Tempted to bet on that at 16/1, It'd break my heart MON going to Arsenal though. Tell you someone i've not see anyone mention until i've seen the odds and it wouldn't be a bad appointment for Forest at all - Dave Jones, out of work and a good manager.
RedHux Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Dave Jones would never come to Forest. The club's had to publicly apologise to him about certain sections of our crowd associating him with activities he's been completely cleared of. No chance of MON. Psycho would be a disaster. In fact the only one that fits our remit of spending bugger all whilst passing it about like Barca is Sean O'Driscoll. He'd be a popular choice too I reckon.
HEGGSY Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 If MON took over as manager I would feel quite sad Dont worry he won't (hopefully)
Happy Fox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Florist should change their name to FFP it is all they keep on bleating about
leicesterseddon Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Sky bet have got that all wrong. There really is no chance that MON would join Forest, let alone at this moment in time. As others have said, I fully expect a rather underwhelming (and inexpensive) appointment.
Father Ted Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 I reckon Roy Keane for several reasons. He's an ex player. Fans favourite. Desperate for a job and would know the club well. Fortunately, he's a shit manager
RedHux Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 He is indeed shit, and he tends to spend money like water.
Yojoe36 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 He quit, what a pussyhole, he quit. What a pussyhole, he quit. :chant:
Happy Fox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 What are the odds on Mandy taking over and Bringing the Ginger Mourinho with him
Guest Bilo Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Glad it's not just me who thinks Roy Keane is a shocking manager. It's genuinely astonishing that he plied his trade under two of the greatest managers in the history of English football, but has managed to learn the square root of fvck all in the process.
Libertine Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 I thought MON left Aston Villa due to the lack of investment? If so why join forest? He spent a fair deal at Villa. Was more down to the Milner sale over his head I believe. Jones would be good for them. He liked his loans at Cardiff though, so he might not be up for Forest's tight fisted board.
Ozwin Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Stuart Pearce would be a maginificant capture for Forest
Foxes1 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Looks like one Forest fan is unhappy that he's gone
FoxyPV Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Feel for him. Never really got going and was hamstrung by the board in regards to signings. Good luck to him wherever he ends up. Forest however
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Really hope O'Neill doesn't go there. Doubt he will, but I don't want it.
Guest shearfox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 O'Neill likes to have complete control with regards to all transfers whether incoming or outgoing, this just doesn't really happen these days and I doubt Forest would give him the resources and guarantees he would want.
Happy Fox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 In the unlikely event that MON takes over Florist would we be angry or pissed off ? or will a situation develop likewise when Clough senior went from Dierby to Florist?

The same Roy Keane who took over a side bottom of the Championship, without a point in 4 games, and led them to a title? Quite a few current bosses would love that on their CV. Forest could do a lot worse. He was seen at the game against us, so may already have been lined up as insurance if it didn't work out with Shteve.
