RedHux Posted 12 October 2011 Posted 12 October 2011 Frank Clark will be their new chairman Correct. Frank Clark has today accepted Nigel Doughty's invitation to succeed him as the new Chairman of Nottingham Forest with immediate effect.Mr Clark has the unique distinction of not only having played for the club - and won League Championship and European Cup winners' medals - but also to have enjoyed great success as manager of The Reds. He succeeded Brian Clough as manager in 1993 and in his first season in charge guided the club to an immediate Premier League return. Forest finished third in their first season back in the top flight and the following campaign reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup. Since retiring from club management he has been Vice-Chairman of the League Managers Association for more than a decade, keeping him in tune with the modern-day game. He has lived in the Nottingham area for 20 years and regularly attends games at The City Ground. His first task will be to appoint a new Reds manager.
Happy Fox Posted 12 October 2011 Posted 12 October 2011 Correct. What are your thoughts on his appointment, is it far too sentimental?
RedHux Posted 12 October 2011 Posted 12 October 2011 I'm happy enough with it. A Forest man, knows his football and a master stroke as a buffer between the fans and Doughty. I hope he's not too sentimental when it comes to appointing a manager.
RedHux Posted 12 October 2011 Posted 12 October 2011 I'd forgotten about these Maybe one day someone will satirise you lot before long.
leicesterseddon Posted 12 October 2011 Posted 12 October 2011 Cotterill doesn't work in the football industry. He works in the anti-football industry. Seriously, if my club were on the verge of appointing him I'd be approaching suicide. I'll never forget the way they set up against us when they came to Leicester last season...just dreadful, dreadful football. Two banks of four, strikers doing nothing, closing down hard, bullying the other side off the ball, everyone in the team over 6'3 and built like an outhouse, try to nick a goal from a corner or something and go home.
RedHux Posted 12 October 2011 Posted 12 October 2011 He is the worst of the current crop of hopefuls. He makes Keane look like Mourinho.
Corky Posted 13 October 2011 Posted 13 October 2011 I'd forgotten about these Maybe one day someone will satirise you lot before long. Give us a chance, we've only been around for 127 years.

HEGGSY Posted 14 October 2011 Posted 14 October 2011 Just been on the forest forums they're not happy lol
davieG Posted 14 October 2011 Posted 14 October 2011 When are SSN gonna finally shut up about this Rooney ruling! 24h of the exact same cack ... nearly Footy fans are only interested in anything to do with Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man C and when we're desperate for a fix they'll throw in a bit of Spurs (Harry) for our enjoyment.
I am Rod Hull Posted 14 October 2011 Posted 14 October 2011 Footy fans are only interested in anything to do with Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man C and when we're desperate for a fix they'll throw in a bit of Spurs (Harry) for our enjoyment. Indeed.... I remember when Rooney scored that over head kick and they had Lou Macari sitting outside Old Trafford at 7am the next day in the pouring rain under an umbrella, asking him if it was the best goal ever seen there...
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 October 2011 Posted 14 October 2011 I think Cotterill is shit, but unlike other shit managers like Taylor, Levein, even McLaren, he comes across as a knob head. Talks a lot of garbage and always says how his side was done out of the points, etc.
Corky Posted 14 October 2011 Posted 14 October 2011 More strife for the PoorOldPompey fans. How much more can they take? Can't see the majority of Forest fans being happy (with much at all).
Bugg Posted 14 October 2011 Posted 14 October 2011 Insert inappropriate takeaway gag here There was one in the mirror (I think it was them) for the Brighton game in which the headline was "Yuki Foxes Take-away" I reckon that holds the crown for the most inappropriate take-away gag
RedHux Posted 14 October 2011 Posted 14 October 2011 Well, I hope they come in throw a bit of cash around and appoint their own man as it seemsCotterill is now official. I feel all those years of mocking you lot for being long ball merchants are coming back to royally bite me in the arse.

Fox92 Posted 14 October 2011 Posted 14 October 2011 Expect a 0-1 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest then.
