FrankieADZ Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Dont see what there problem is...I thought he was doing a grand job Just proves a point that Billy Davies was doing a good job and should have been offered more support by the Forest board.
MrSpaM Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Martin O' Neill to forest You must be having a laugh! He wouldnt touch us with a ten foot barge-pole, so what makes people think he'll go to a club in a much worse position with no money to spend at this stage of the season? Seriously wtf?!? It's not going to happen
surrifox Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Well I don't care what people say about Shooper Schteve, after his fantastic " Dutch" interview he became a comedy legend (if I could locate it you would see what I mean) . Hoovering up the millions from England and Forest simply for being a useless manager- priceless
MikeyT Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Steve McClaren claims a lack of ambition led him to take the decision to step down as Nottingham Forest manager. The former England boss quit the City Ground post on Sunday after seeing the Reds beaten 3-1 at home by Birmingham. That defeat, Forest's sixth of the season, proved to be the final straw as McClaren opted to walk away from a role he had held for less than four months. His arrival as Billy Davies' replacement over the summer was greeted with scepticism from some supporters, but he was expected to build on the foundations put down by his predecessor. McClaren encountered the same problems in the transfer market that had enraged Davies, though, with an apparent lack of backing from the club's board leaving him frustrated. In the end he decided his position had become untenable and waived his right to any severance pay by resigning. "I resigned - they don't share the ambition that I came for," said McClaren. An eventful evening on Trentside also saw owner Nigel Doughty announce his intention to step down as chairman at the end of the season. Having been the target of pre and post-match protests, he is prepared to stand aside. Doughty has pumped millions into the club during his decade at the helm, but concedes that his decision to appoint McClaren was not one of his better calls. "We should have been more thorough when we appointed Steve," he said. "I just felt it was a bad decision all round." Martin O'Neill is the early favourite to succeed McClaren, with the likes of Karl Robinson, Roy Keane and Alan Curbishley also believed to be in the running.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Think they will get Roy Keane. Forest have been poor but I do feel sorry for SM, never was going to repeat or better what Billy Davies did.

It's not going to happen Why not? I bet the club are close to his heart, and he is a legend there. We've all seen stranger things happen. He isn't a yes man, but if the club has no money, how did McLaren buy the likes of Miller and Derbyshire etc?

MON aint going there.. no way... cant see him wanting a championship battle job nowdays. the guy could walk in to most premier league clubs. and to a club with no money.. ( surely if they had money they would have backed SM more)
purpleronnie Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I find it odd that leicester fans care about him being sacked and actually like the fact McClaren has been fired, surely our fans would of prefered him to continue in the role and hopefully let them struggle all season?
m00nie Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 freind on FB is a forest fan, said Roy keane been spotted there today.. ive just sneaked few quid on him at 11/1 just in case...
somebum Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 A useless manager, increasingly deluded, way out of his depth.
Guest MattP Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 If MON does go there I'd actually cry. Can't happen surely.
Corky Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 "I resigned - they don't share the ambition that I came for," said McClaren. They also probably didn't expect to be 21st after ten games Steve.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 freind on FB is a forest fan, said Roy keane been spotted there today.. ive just sneaked few quid on him at 11/1 just in case... Not a bad shout M00nie. Apparently he was there watching the Forest v Leicester game. Maybe tapped up a few weeks ago to be waiting in the wings, a la Sousa/Pearson. i think they'll pick up after a new manager is brought in (Dave Jones for me). Hopefully that'll start against Cov.
Tielemans63 Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 As long as they don't get O'Neill. I'll go seriously emo if that happens.
RedHux Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Forest fans appear to be calling for the messianic like return of "The Scottish coach".
The Doctor Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 MacBeth - got to be better than McLaren. Personally I'd like agent Levein to take over - mostly so he can stop ****ing my national side up.
RedHux Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I'd be prepared to have a punt on Sean O'Driscoll but most reds are taking the opportunity to go a bit mental on the speculation front.
lcfcjim Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Forest fans appear to be calling for the messianic like return of "The Scottish coach". I was on LTLF earlier, briefly I may add, and there was speculation that he may return till the end of the season (assuming your talking about Davies)....
RedHux Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Oh there's speculation a plenty and apparently he's announced he's happy to come strutting back like the colossal twat that he is.
RedHux Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 *shudder* Although Probably not much worse then Roy Keane.
m00nie Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Kenny Burns and Garry Birtles as joint-manager. only couple weeks ago kb was sacked by them wasnt it... karl robinson now 1/2 on according to skybet,,
RedHux Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 He was indeed. For speaking his mind in the directors lounge, whilst going about his formerforestlegend duties. He was indeed. For speaking his mind in the directors lounge, whilst going about his formerforestlegend duties.
ajthefox Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 O'Driscoll would be a decent shout, or Jones if that fails.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 He wanted to sign Lloyd Dyer on loan, but wasn't allowed to by Doughty.
