THEFATBASTARD Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 The forest chairman is going,This weekend is going in my diary, when Im old and the nurse is changing my nappy and wiping my ass...I shall remember this weekend and smile...
FuriousFox46 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 We should fly a banner over the City Groun that reads "Agent Rob Kelly, mission accomplished. Love Leicester x" Same day, Derby do theirs
Callabinho Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 MON or Dave Jones, MON isn't a bad shout at all. Hopefully their a sinking ship!
Salieri Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Disappointed as McClown hadn't quite taken them as low as he could have. Dave Jones would be a very good appointment for them. As long as they don't get MON.... <_<
HitchinFox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 I'd love Peter Taylor to take the reins. That would also mean that Junior Lewis would be assistant. Brilliant. Can't wait.
wellyfox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Disappointed as McClown hadn't quite taken them as low as he could have. Dave Jones would be a very good appointment for them. As long as they don't get MON.... <_< Fvck off peter taylor is the only man to finish the job
bluebeau Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Ian Dowie would be a great guy for the job, but then again David Pleat is now out of work!!!
accessory Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 The only way the siuation at Forest could get any funnier is if the board announce Rob Kelly will be promoted to fill the vacancy as manager.
Happy Fox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 STEVE McClaren walked away from Nottingham Forest after seeing his requests to sign four different loan players rejected over the past week. The former England boss quit his role at the City Ground after only 111 days, after becoming frustrated at what he regarded as a lack of backing in the transfer market. While, on a dramatic evening, chairman Nigel Doughty then announced that he would step down from his role at the end of the season, although he will retain his financial backing of the club. "I resigned," said McClaren. "The club do not share the ambition I came here for." McClaren, who has agreed to leave without a payoff, is understood to have lined up moves for two wingers, in the form of Wolves' Michael Kightly and Leicester's Lloyd Dyer, as well as two further potential signings, in the wake of the 5-1 hammering at Burnley. But he decided the job was not the one he had been sold, after seeing his latest efforts to bolster his City Ground squad blocked. And, amid an hour-long meeting with Doughty and chief executive Mark Arthur, after Birmingham had hit three goals in 12 minutes to subject Forest to a third straight home defeat, McClaren tended his resignation. McClaren had previously voiced his frustration at seeing the 'financial parameters' within which he is expected to work change dramatically, during the ten games he was in charge. Having seen the club pursue – and fail to sign – the likes of Jermaine Beckford, Max Gradel, Nicky Maynard, Wayne Routledge and Wes Verhoek before the transfer window slammed shut, McClaren had reacted angrily and warned that the club lacked the strength in depth to challenge in the Championship. But the club is determined to adhere to the financial fair play rules that could be introduced as early as next season and refused to gamble by stretching the club's wage bill further. "I feel sorry for Steve McClaren, he has been made promises that have been broken," said Forest legend Kenny Burns. "There are only two people higher than the manager at the club and they have let him down badly. "I am not really surprised, at seeing this. The players he was promised have not materialised." Garry Birtles echoed those sentiments, saying: "McClaren was clearly told something else when he had his interview and I don't blame him for walking. "It is unacceptable. Billy Davies will be laughing himself to sleep. If there is no money available, why didn't the chairman just say so, instead of pulling the wool over people's eyes?"
Guest shearfox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Peter Taylor or Megson pleaseeeeeeeee. Both could do the job well, and get Forest to where they belong, Iain Dowie would be a good shout as well.
He's not bald Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Radio Nottingham is worth a listen. The headlines are a car crash..pretty ironic!
ajthefox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 To be fair to the guy, it's kind of admirable that he's quit so early on because of the board's lack of ambition when he could've stayed on and possibly cashed in a bumper check. Hilarious none the less though
LestaFox92 Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 Aslong as they don't get MON and beat us at home this is by far the best day of 2011 yet
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 2 October 2011 Posted 2 October 2011 im gutted for those tree hugging bankers - NOT
ozleicester Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 He tried to sign Lloyd? I mustve missed that one. Hope they do get MON, perhaps then our negative, history dwelling fans can let him go and look to the future.
Kitchandro Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I'm all for looking to the future (in fact I dream that we might have a better team than MON's in the next 10 years and that we'll win the FA Cup) but I would be devastated if he went to them. It would tarnish his God status for me if he did well there. Though if he took them down he'd be even more of a hero! I can't see him going there, he's a proud guy and wants a proper job. He deserves a crack at one of the major clubs, replace Wenger when he's sacked or even Fergie when he retires.
CKB Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Like a few have said MON would only go there due to his history with them, i can't see it though also he would want backing majorly which it seems the Forest board struggle to do with there managers! I can see Dave Jones going there myself
Stay Positive Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I might go for the job myself. I'm sure I could carry on the marvellous work.
Fox92 Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I rekon Martin O' Neill will take the job. He is a legend at Nottingham Forest after all. And fair play if he does take it, the footballing world is a better place with Martin in it. Forest should never have got rid of Billy Davies though. Top manager at this level, and a better manager than McLaren.
