AjcW Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Are there more kids addicted to his ishit than there are to narcotics ? Top bloke... If that's aimed at my post I think kid is highly out of place!
BlueSi13 Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Genius, his list of achievements and innovations not just with Apple are utterly staggering and his conduct during his entire career is an inspiration to any professional, not just those in technical industries. I recommend the biography (not surprisingly the number 1 seller on Amazon right now) and the book "The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs" great reading I also hope Apple can move on stronger after the dust settles from this shock, as it has been clear to me at least that they have somewhat stagnated as a company the past 12-18 months despite the record profits. No doubt SJ's illness and the uncertainty and re-organising associated with this had a big deal to do with it. RIP Steve Jobs
21st Century Fox Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 Aka being so thick and unable to think for yourself that you are dragged to an apple shop by a ghost like figure who tells you to buy the products because if you don't you might die....... God I hate people that can't think for themselves and then blame people who can(I.e. The marketing men and advertisers with actual brains) for the fact they have just bought something they probably don't need! Stupid zombie no brain *****!! Grrrrrrrrr makes me so so so angry! I mean seriously the people on here and other sites who have said Steve has basically robbed people blind are exactly the same people who watch and advert for something shiny and new and then go out and stockpile it before realising they now can't afford to pay their rent/child support/bar tabs.... Utter wastes of oxygen!! Its not just about wanting a product through good marketing its about building a society thats based on the want and consumption of material goods. The inherent need to be apart of this society by consuming and elevating through society by what you own.
I am Rod Hull Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 If that's aimed at my post I think kid is highly out of place! It was aimed at the "ijunkies"....

The inherent need to be apart of this society by consuming and elevating through society by what you own. Completely understand that, I'm currently studying that exact thing(in fact that is pretty much word for word one of the lecture slides ) However the fact remains, there's a group of people who buy the product because they don't have the ability to think for themselves... And then there's people who buy the product for reasons such as quality and life span and ability to do the job required of it.... And come a situation like this, the only group that bitches are those that lack the ability to think for themselves, because they read an article that says "jobs has been robbing you blind for years you clueless bastards" or something like that, and, following suit, because they can't think for themselves, they let the article think for them and go on to rant and moan! It's one hilarious deluded circle of life! It was aimed at the "ijunkies".... Fair Enough.

It's one hilarious deluded circle of life! Fair Enough. True. Weirdly I had quite a few lectures on Steve Jobs himself. I think the people who can't see what he's brought to our daily lives beyond a few gadgets should probably take a look into how he popularised the mouse and GUI. This is really nice, an interactive list of Steve Job's patents... http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/08/24/technology/steve-jobs-patents.html

Wow, you are a great judge of people. I admire your analytical skills there. No, Bad parenting is a kiddy fashion trap. I take it you don't have children then

Zingari Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 I have 3 teenage daughters and there isn't a single Apple product in our house. Not even a delicious Aunt Bessie’s apple pie ? Only £1 at Iceland, and it will be ample for all 3 of them
z-layrex Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 Kind of knew it was only a matter time, the survival rates with pancreatic cancer are very low. But on the bright side, he was very accepting and positive about his mortality, and he did fantastic things with his short life. We all have to go sometime. Heart goes out to all his family & friends.
potter3 Posted 7 October 2011 Posted 7 October 2011 I have 3 teenage daughters and there isn't a single Apple product in our house. Er, wd?

acooling08 Posted 8 October 2011 Posted 8 October 2011 I think it's safe to say that the core of Apple has been shaken.
MPH Posted 12 October 2011 Posted 12 October 2011 I think it's safe to say that the core of Apple has been shaken. What with Steve Jobs' death and the problems besetting blackberry and their email system recently its official............ Apple and Blackberry crumble!
