Here comes the moan in

Recommended Posts

Gave up on the atmosphere years ago. The DRUM was the last straw. My problem were the 4000 odd city fans who left before the end of the game. My Qs is why? Are your lives so busy that you can not stay for couple of minutes to cheer off an excellent performance by the lads. Gally alone deserved 5 mins of my time for his great goals. Where are you going that is soooooooo important? (shops were closed, nothing on telly, Christmas lights had already bin turned on, there was no sale on LCFC Gnomes in the club shop)I'm sorry you live in Leicester, the traffic is not that bad. O.k if you were a Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs fan and you live outside the M25 I might forgive you the odd game.

I bet your the same group of fans that have a go at me for criticising the team at times on the terraces. Well I do, because I am passionate about the City. But what I also do is sing my head off, celebrate goals like a mad man and CHEER MY TEAM OFF! After a bloody good performance. Sometimes I even cheer them off after a shit performance because they are my team and I stick with them no matter what!

We won yesterday!

Blackpool, next week, you lot better sneak out with your heads lowered in shame if you walk out before that final whistle. I will be looking for you!

Agree. We stayed right to the end, despite having to drive to Bournemouth afterwards, then back to Winchester (200+ miles). Stay to the end, the tickets cost enough as it is.

Cheers mate. I had a date with Beyonce, car parked on double yellow, me dinner in the oven, a moaning wife and forget to set my Sky Planner for Strictly but I still stayed till the end...

... Oh yes I had to catch the 7.00pm flight to New Zealand.

We are what this club is all about.

I stayed to the end as well 12 pints of Stella is more than enough to keep you in your seat, and the Steward who was chasing me around the concourse at gone 6pm wasn't best pleased either. :giggle:

Oh dear... Probably gonna get shot for saying this but I actually had that thought during the game yesterday.. The atmosphere WAS shite until we scored.. Then it got much better. I put it down to nerves but I expected more singing. The kop seemed particularly quiet..

Still 10 times better than L1.

They may stand, they may pose, they may even do a decent poznan. But for the THIRD game running, they were shamefully outsung by the away fans, even when we were 3-0 up.

How does that even make sense? The kop get outsung by every single set of away fans to step foot in our stadium regardless of the score, so I have no idea how you can say that?

lol You seem to act like the Kop doesn't get outsung.

Our Kop is a complete and utter embarrassment for me. I agreed with that bloke who had the idea of the smaller Kop, well, I sort of agreed, we do have one but it's literally marginally better than the East Stand (NOT L1 I'm on about either). The standing's embarrassing, the noise is very, very rare. Too many people in there who go in because it's called "The Kop", I simply can't understand why anyone would go in a stand intended for atmosphere and not sing.

Sweet Lord some of you lot need a reality check.

So what if anyone leaves early?

How do you know they aint been singing, dancing cheering all game?

You want a medal for staying til the end??? No one gives a fcuk!

All this shite about The Kop V L1 bollox!

Grow Up!

The atmo at KP is NEVER gonna emulate Filbo END OF!

You cant put the away fans next to the Kop cos the Coppers dont want to have to escort em all the eway around the ground.

Where the away fans are is where they will stay.NO DEBATE

Jobber does his best to get an atmo going in L1....alot of folk respond to it...He's not paid by the club you know!!!

Kopites moan about the atmo

L1ers moan about The Kopites

Everyone else moans about each other, fcuk sake...even MAure who get 70k+ cant get an atmosphere going and they are one of the greatest clubs on earth!

Chill out!!

Ps L1ers are all cvnts!

You make your own attmosphere ie. there was 20 of us at the golf on Friday we sung non stop (well in between shots ) from 8am til 6pm voice was horse and no one else was sung who cares.

The point i'm trying to make is people enjoy thereselves in different ways so just join the like minded people and enjoy it regardless of what other people are doing.

In my opinion, the atmosphere will never change at the King Power, as it won't at most grounds that look like ours. I know all new grounds are built like an oval, but, the older grounds with seperate stands (Barnsley, Forest, Liverpool etc) are much better.

With these newer grounds nobody seems to create an atmosphere. Do Arsenal? Derby? No, yet, they still have good support home and away.

Plus, we seem to have little pockets singing. For instance, I'll sing in the Kop, but I am behind the goal, then they will be those Fosse Boys people (haven't heared them much, do they still go?), most people at the back of the Kop (near Fosse Boys I think) and L1.

And I don't think moving the Kop next to the away fans will work. In my opinion, you will get people wanting to stare and shout at the away fans instead of watching the match.

Think my favorite last night was the woman texting in saying she had to cover her ears because the music before the game was too loud, and sounded like a nightclub.

I mean seriously, we arnt living in the early ninties any more, at least the songs we are playing have some sort of connection to Leicester (Nero were signed to Formation Records, leicesters only decent record label, during their early years). People moaning about stuff like this need to get out more. NOBODY is going to sing songs before the game no matter what we play, so stop begging for the return of bloody Robbie Williams and Tina Turner.

I'm in SK2, and the atmosphere is sometimes shite, but it is difficult to hear L1, the reason being the away fans are facing us whilst L1 area generally facing them when they sing. Don't why we don't all sing 'When you're smiling', but quite honestly don't think most fans know the original tune, ends up being chanted in a monotone. Maybe Birch should lead a sing song of that tune for a couple of games, or maybe it should be played over the tannoy, the original I mean not Jersey Budds flat attempt.

of course the atmosphere would be better if we could stand. don't agree with this bollocks that it's not safe, make it season tickets or members only, anyone 'misbehaving' would get banned.

did you hear the bloke saying reduce prices to get more in? do the maths 24,000 at an average of say £ 30.00 equates to a gate income of £ 720,00. He suggested £15 for adults £10 for kids, so say an average of 12.50 makes 32,000 capacity income of 400,000, figures may be out, but owners won't be pleased!

by the way, never left early even when being thrashed.

I agreed with what Young said on that, great idea but that'd be a huge risk for the owners to take. I do think the prices need to come down to an amount we'd get at least 27k a game because this season's attendances are simply embarrassing. 22k v Derby for example, absolute shite, and the only reason it's like that are because of the stupid pricing category and the fact that on TV games, it doesn't even come down.

It appears our matchday prices are absolutely awful. I wouldn't know as I'm an STH, but I keep being told how expensive it is.

I think if there's any genuine care for the matchday experience at the club, then whoever's in charge needs to take a hit to improve it. It's a shame and it's extremely unlikely but that bloke was spot on, 10k empty seats per game, it's appalling.

Just annoys me how so many clubs would happily make a bit more money at the expense of a far better matchday experience.

Stoke?

And if you're saying Forest really have a better atmosphere than we do, get the hell out of here!

Oh really? Did you go to the game there this season?

For the first 80 minutes the home areas were like a morgue, apart from when they were booed off at half time, and when the A-block aimed a couple of racist jibes at us.

Even when they beat us 5-1 a couple of years back the atmosphere was nothing special.

Some of our fans really do need to lose their inferiority complex.

Main reason I always stay behind is when we were in the premiership. We were playing Arsenal and was losing 1-0, and my mate was like "come on, lets just go". I refused to go in injury time and then all of a sudden Craig Hignett comes scored an equaliser in injury time. After that, i've always stayed until the whistle. :scarf: :scarf:

Really enjoy the Kop, decent folk around me (sk1), can stand freely, good view and no groups of irritating kids. Sunday games are never going to be good, unless a derby or cup game eg Man City last season, same with Tuesday nights really. And of course the opposition numbers and performance on the pitch will dictate things sadly as it has been for many years, it's nothing new. Many fans who used to be in pen 1 and 2 an hour before and keeping it up through the game have long given up or resigned to the more family oriented areas of the ground.

Pompey on saturday we will be very good, people will be in here saying that and the players will be on twitter saying 'lcfc fans amazing support again' whereas Blackpool a week today will be church like. Thats just the way it is not just at Filbert way but at every ground these days.

Why people expect atmosphere's at you standard home games then get stressed out about them I'll never know.

And as for staying till the end, everyone has different circumstances, I've never once left early before in over 10 years, even the 6-1 at Pompey last season where our end went from 1,200 down to about 300 once the whistle blew. But on saturday I did, I had to be in Manchester for half 6 and had to leave as the board went up to beat the traffic to the M1. People loving showing the old 'loyal supporter card' again.
