can some one actually tell me what mon has achieved anywhere else, and dont say he won the spl title cause i could win with celtic

Considering he has only managed Celtic & Villa since leaving us what point are you trying to make? Consecutive top 6 finishes in the prem not good enough for you? Cup finals including a European Competition not good enough? You must be a difficult person to please.

we all thought Sven was to good for us though lol in fact tbh i think Svens probley got a better CV than Martin tbh i think he was to used to international managment

an exceptional CV doesn't guarentee succsess.

i'm not sure if i'd want MON to come back. i mean it excites me massivley to imagine him replicating his past city achievements but i wouldn't want him, for arguments sake, to possibly not do very well and to tarnish his very positive reputation in football. i don't like the thought of people starting to have a negative view on the person who shaped one of the best parts in our clubs history if he does maybe come back and doesn't get it quite right. think of the amount of pressure he'd be under to deliver after the majority of seasons that have gone by since he left which have been mostly gloomy and nothing compared to what he accomplished. atleast if it's someone like dave jones or mark hughes then they can come here, have the similar amount expectation on their shoulders but if they fail where many have before, over whatever period of time, then they can come and go and thats that. i'd love martin to return but i can't help but worry!

When you consider Rudkin and Stowell can motivate this lot to beat Burnley and give West Ham a run for their money I don't see how MON could fail, we have a good squad, better than most in the Championship and I can't think of many better managers to motivate players than MON. The man has never failed in any job he has taken he is an astute tactician and excellent motivator, if you want any further proof just look at what happens to clubs when he leaves. There is no way he could fail to the point where he loses any of his legend status. I am not saying he would get us promoted but he would galvanise the team and get us playing at the level we should be.

To take Celtic to Uefa cup final is some achievement, top 6 finish for Villa plus league cup final, FA cup semi final, brought downing, young and Milner, all 3 full England international and playing for the top 4 teams in englad!

Going to be a long day today. MON is ironing his best track suit. Top is polishing his hat. Birch is flagellating due to his slip up. Keane is walking his dog in the fecking rain. Stringer is on the phone again and walsho is furiously still making tea whilst searching for a fag!'

Happy days.

This is the exactly the point with MON.

Now, I considere myself a pretty good judge on football matters (:giggle:) and generally speaking I an old enough to know when I am being bullshitted, so this is how I see it.

There is plenty of the season left, we are one win off a playoff spot and we have some very good players.

We may be unbalanced but the new manager will have funds to address that issue in january.

This year the Championship lacks much in the way of class, our record is mediocre yet we are still very well placed.

Southampton are doing superbly but the only club that can match our squad strength is West Ham.

Despite all the pr bullshit about how tough it is in this league it is my view that given the above, any decent manager would get us promoted and I would fully expect a Top 2 finish if MON was in charge.

Like Tony Mowbray and Neil Lennon have done?

I think this is all a test. Martin is a man of principal and I think he may have said to Tap 'I'll be interested so long as you say nothing about it at all'. If Tap passes the test, then Martin knows he can trust him as a chairman, and he will say 'I'll take the job'.

Now ain't that the most fantastic story you ever heard?

Andrew Neville will be watching over him, making sure he keeps his mouth shut.

Relive it people, relive.

Scenes at 0:37.

Other video's from O'Neills era on that guys channell too.

God I can barely watch this. Remember the feeling of sickness to this day! We were SO close. Come home Martin, we love you! "Together, we will win the cup. Together, marching to Europe!!!!".

He is my muse, it's true. But a lot of people here would say that too

I always find myself drawn in to a strange hypnotic gaze when i see him. Its a little disturbing to be honest. Anyway, back to the matter at hand....

MON, Hughes, Davies or OGS (as I stuck some cash on him)...Make it so!

I fear for this forum if he's appointed.

If we appoint anyone else the Samaritans phone-line will no doubt see a lot of action, while if we do appoint him Mark'll need to appoint a couple o'thousand extra mods to keep this place from crashing under the weight of millions of duplicate topics along the lines of:

MON'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! scarf.gifscarf.gifscarf.gifscarf.gifscarf.gif

can some one actually tell me what mon has achieved anywhere else, and dont say he won the spl title cause i could win with celtic

Which is of course why since he left Rangers have dominated, like they did for a while before he turned up?

dave jones on talksport at the moment, when asked about leicester, "have you been interviewed " he paused then said "lets just wait and see " obviously he has and wants the job.
