What a frustrating player Gallagher is...

Giving the ball away, wimping out of tackles...

Then he pops up with two sensational goals!!

Second one was like an arrow...

Difference for me today was Nige. About ten minutes into the second half he was giving everyone a major bollocking, shouting instructions etc etc. I love to see that level of motivation in a manager when it's needed.

And the formation looked better....

think thisreport was written by a palace fan:

For the best part of an hour on Sunday, nothing seemed to have changed. Leicester City, as so often under their previous manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, looked nervous and disjointed, and were being put under increasing pressure by Dougie Freedman's Crystal Palace, a side assembled at a fraction of the cost.

Fifteen minutes and three goals later the Foxes were in total control, the match transformed by one quick counter-attack finished by Jermaine Beckford, and two wonderful long-distance strikes by Paul Gallagher. If Nigel Pearson is going to be this fortunate in his second spell as manager of the club  , Leicester's promotion to the Premier League may be assured.

After an energetic side by the home team, Palace more than held their own throughout the first half and into the second. They were caught out shortly before the hour when Paul Konchesky broke, and Richie Wellens played a clever pass inside the visitors penalty area for Beckford to score.

Chris Martin then missed two excellent chances for Crystal Palace before Gallagher first curled the ball beyond Speroni from 22 yards, and then fired an unstoppable drive past the goalkeeper from even further out to seal the win.

Thought we were fairly lucky to win all in all.

Difference was a brilliant save from Schmeichel and 2 great goals from Gallagher, the second of which was absolutely ridiculous.

Good win though. Zaha looked tricky for Palace.

WTF is everybody on? Palace were very poor today. I honestly don't know what game people were watching if they thought we didn't deserve the win.

Wow, very good.

All i'm saying (And I know we should move on and look forward) but we wouldn't have played like that under Sven.

Played very well, just looks like theres alot more togetherness, and dare I say it 'passion' amongst the players, Pearson has obviously instanly gave the team some belief and motivation.

It feels like it did a couple of years ago and I like it, after the last game I was complaining of not being excited, bothered or 'got in' to this season, i'm getting there after that, not getting to excited yet, but I feel the good times are coming back :fc:

UNBELIEVABLE TEKKERS!

Sit almost the opposite side of the ground to Gally's second, did it take a deflection? I hope not but I thought so at the time. First was sublime.

There was no deflection I was right behind it.

Was anyone else sitting in J2, able to hear Pearson shouting at the players? Holy shit!

He was VERY active on the side-line, giving loads of instructions. VERY good indeed

Defensively, fvcking sensational. Kasper made the best save I've ever seen, Mills and SSL throwing bodies on the line.

Going forward, Becks looked a bit brighter, bit more width but a lovely, quick flowing move opened them up, and Gallagher's goals were indescribable.

Happy days, pleased for Nigel.

People are being harsh saying we didn't deserve to win. 2nd half we were the better team without doubt. Palace created very little and 3 of the few quality moments in the match won us the game.

First half was very even and very very boring. The match reminded me of the Forest 3-0 under Nigel, complete bore fest for an hour, got the all important first goal and then Gally gets a screamer (2 this time) and we win 3-0. This was the 'winning football' Pearson was talking about - we didn't concede, we got the goals when it mattered and saw the game out very comfortably. We weren't particularly good but we will get better.

Beckford was again an absolute waste of space and until he scored I was serously thinking there were no positives to his game. But he did get the all important first goal, that's what he's here for. He makes it difficult to create chances for both himself and his teammates with his poor movement and pathetic 'attempts' to hold it up. But like I said, he got his goal, that's all that matters today.

You could tell the players were really up for it from the off (something you couldn't say about the Millwall game, for example) and although we looked short of ideas we kept going and once we scored the first goal I was confident we would win. All 3 were good goals, first a good team move and Gally's were obviously superb, much to the surprise of his critics (and everyone really) When his second went in people weren't so much celebrating as laughing their arses off.

Apart from 2 incredible once in a season goals and one incredible save it was a typical LCFC performance with a lot of sloppy passing and very little closing early down which put the defence under unnecessary pressure.

Not that i didn't enjoy it but there's a lot of going over the top after one win syndrome.

Great game , great goals Gallys goals were sensational, Beckfords was class excellent build up . There were a couple of moments where our defence were daydreaming in the second half but apart from that good performance great to see Nigel back AND on the edge of his technical area giving instructions and spuring them on. St Ledger had a very tidy game Konchesky was also tidy , good performance 100 times better than the Leeds game and it took a goal to get the crowd going but after that we were noisey for the remainder of the game great, atmosphere this afternoon. Now that's what i want for my money!!!

Now let's break into that top 6 and stay there. Bit pissed by the way.
