Jace Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Does this mean Beckford, Gally and SSL have earned first team places? I hope Bamba will continue to start

bjblyth Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Any chance of an iPhone friendly link to the goals?
Collymore Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 What you drinking mate? did you even go to the game? WUM
Jace Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Apparently Beckfords toe punt goal into the back of the net was meant to be his first touch to control the ball he admitted in the post match interview

lcfcsnow Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Does this mean Beckford, Gally and SSL have earned first team places? I hope Bamba will continue to start SSL had a good game, can't see Bamba getting in unless Mills is injured as he was limping for the last 10-15 minutes. Beckford was awful throughout, the miss just after his goal was unbelievable, but still offered more than Howard who showed once again he has nothing to offer at this level after coming on.
sphericalfox Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Apparently Beckfords toe punt goal into the back of the net was meant to be his first touch to control the ball he admitted in the post match interview Well, if his first goal was by accident, let's have few more accidents Jermaine!
HoustonFox Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Great result, in Nige we trust. What was Beckford's reaction like when he was subbed off?
Jace Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Great result, in Nige we trust. What was Beckford's reaction like when he was subbed off? took him awhile to react...
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Great result, in Nige we trust. What was Beckford's reaction like when he was subbed off? Apparently he went to trap a ball in frustration but ended up kicking it 30 metres into the directors box and knocked Top off his seat
MPH Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Apart from 2 incredible once in a season goals and one incredible save it was a typical LCFC performance with a lot of sloppy passing and very little closing early down which put the defence under unnecessary pressure. Not that i didn't enjoy it but there's a lot of going over the top after one win syndrome. i seriously hope you are joking.... but if not.... you miserable old git! What did you expect for a first game with a new formation and new coaches? and 3-0 isnt good enough for you?

vandamman Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Loving Jamie's call on the phone in 'you know what I like about schmeichal? *pause*..his silky blond hair!' Went mad in the underpass back towards the city centre, you would have thought we had won the world cup! Great result, bring on the next one.
Jace Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Maynard scored twice again today away to Millwall something for Jermaine to worry about?
Three Legged Fox Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 A friend of a friend at work stood to collect £14,000 off an accumulator if Palace won today, Leicester v Palace being the last game in the run. He even thought I wouldn't mind if had City lost, being so close to the season of doom and all that. Wrong!. Great win.
ScouseFox Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Becks clapped all 4 sides of the ground as he trotted off with a smile on his face. Did his job today. But haters gon' hate and all that.
davieG Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 i seriously hope you are joking.... but if not.... you miserable old git! What did you expect for a first game with a new formation and new coaches? and 3-0 isnt good enough for you? Not miserable just realistic for large parts of the game we weren't in it and I did enjoy it but I'm not going over board and I doubt Pearson is. Of course it was a good result and certainly good enough to get 3 points but some of the comments are way over the top just like they were when we beat Derby with a better performance. But it's one game and up until Gallagher's two goals could have gone either way. Take away those 2 goals and the save and it was a pretty ordinary performance.

I am making alot of jokes bout him on this page but tbh I don't hate him at all think with the right manager and support he could be a great striker here

SeCrEt FoX Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Did any one else spot Pearson heading thin air today up to his old tricks again.

Thanks mate, good to know he went off with his head held high. He must be doing something right in training to even start as I don't think NP, CS and SW would have picked him on reputation alone.
Captain... Posted 20 November 2011 Posted 20 November 2011 Great result, avergae performance, poor opponents. We could have had quite a few more goals, Kings header in the first half, Beckford had a free header too (i couldn't see but he might have been pushed) and Beckford through on goal in the second half. There is still a lot of work for Nigel to do, but a great first goal quick one touch passing, and 2 crackers from Gallagher made me happy. The performance was ok, a lot more energy than what I've seen recently but still missing something, we were overrun in midfield a bit and didn't utilise Dyer as much as we should have done. Defensively solid but a great defensive header from King in the first saved what would have been a Palace tap in. Too many long balls/long passes and giving the ball away too much. Beckford I don't think likes the ball pumped up to him, did his best under the high balls, but not his strength, I also think he will get better the more he plays and develops an understanding with the rest of the team. He tried quite a few quick lay offs that the intended target didn't read. He is clearly got talent and he seemed to put in a lot more effort today, lost the ball a couple of times but made an attempt to win it back. Did well to intercept the ball and carry it in to the box how he didn't score I have no idea. I'm glad he got a good reception when he was subbed because his faults today were not through effort and attitude. Pearson has some work to do and my only criticism of him today is why bring on Howard? Surely at that stage of the match comfortably 3-0 up give a player he has never seen before like Danns or Abe a run out either for King or Wellens, maybe change the formation to a 4-3-3 Schlupp, Gally and Dyer up top with King Wellens and Abe/Danns in the middle. He already knows all he needs to about Howard and we didn't need his impact as the game had already been won. Edit: It was also good to see we didn't just sit back whne we had the lead, we soaked up the pressure after we scored, great save from Kasper, and then went back on the attack.
