Pompey might sing it in protest but it would be funny if our lot could get in there first with this lol

To the tune of Yellow submarine.

Wonder whether Nige is gonna put Sol Bamba straight back into the team?

No I said they were great under Bloomfield. Poor after. Do you disagree?

Agree as I said in the Get Rid of Wellens topic

I would think that the majority of people on here only experienced the Filbert St atmosphere during the relatively successful Lttle reign which followed one of the lowest periods in our history and MON reign which was our most significant success for nigh on 20 years and will not know that it was often just as bad as the KP stadium in the lean years.

If you compare our time at the KP, which has been mostly unsuccessful whilst at best being uninspiring and at worst appalling with the Brian Hamilton/Pleat times the atmosphere is not that different.

Many a time I've stood in a half empty morgue like atmosphere at Filbert St during the McLintock, Hamilton and Pleat reigns, there needs to be an element of sustained good play, results and commitment from the team to convince fans that the team is not only worth fighting for but also worth spending time, money and effort to attend.

Continued failure to perform deadens the soul and cripples the motivation to maintain a lively and vocal support.

Is mattock any good anymore? Does anyone know?

I personally always thought he was hugely overrated to be honest...

He was over-rated. Massively. But for some reason nothing was going to take him off the fast-track at Leicester.

We tried to use him as an attacking full-back but he never had anything like Sheehan's ability to deliver a fast, accurate and dangerous final ball.

Mattock was even moved back in the Academy because he wasn't as good as Ryan Beswick in attack - not by a distance.

Mattock had a good engine and was a determined tackler but that was it. He didn't even read the game particularly well, had no great aerial presence in defence and was altogether forgettable.

Indeed a market friend who went to school with him didn't even rate him much as a school player but I don't now about that. But he sure wouldn't have got in my youth team never mind lacing the boots of Richie Norman in City's first team.

Result today? One-one. Pearson will do extremely well to win given the limited tactical options he has just now, particularly in relation to genuinely fast counter attack.

Dyer could well be key.

Why? StLedger all but guaranteed his place in the team with his performance last week.

My sister and new boyfriend are going - they live down there - can some one look after her please- she'll probably be drunk, or on the way, and won't know any of the newer songs, or players' names!

I'm on the ferry from Ryde to Portsmouth and there's not many Portsmouth fans. Probably seen more City fans.

Portsmouth 1 City 2 (Collymore, Heskey)

Nice one

Nigel Pearson has named an unchanged starting 11 from City’s last game. City starting 11: Schmeichel, Konchesky, Mills, St Ledger, Peltier, Dyer, King, Wellens, Gallagher, Beckford, Nugent

Bamba is a much better player than anyone on the pitch. he should be in. Win or lose the last match.

You could really only replace SSL or Mills. Both played well last time so changing it would be unfair. Plus, chopping and changing the team is a sure fire way to failure. Just ask SGE.
