Portsmouth away pre-match confabulation

Paul Gallagher believes there could be no stopping Leicester City if they can record back-to-back victories for the first time this season at Portsmouth on Saturday.

Gallagher said all the players were buzzing after the return of manager Nigel Pearson last week and their excellent 3-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday, and this week's trip to Fratton Park could not come soon enough.

City have failed to string together consecutive victories in the Championship this season, and the Blue Army have had to endure several false dawns as promising performances have been followed by disappointing showings.

However, Gallagher believes City can lay that hoodoo to rest on the south coast.

"I have heard a few people mention the lack of back-to-back victories this season but that has to change some time," said Gallagher, who scored two stunning goals in City's victory against the Eagles.

"Why can't it change this time?

"We just want the next game to come as quick as possible when you have had a win like that. All the players are buzzing and it is a good place to be at the moment.

"If we can go there and get a result, it could kick-start our season."

Gallagher believes that part of the problem before was that, while City had a large and talented squad, the starting line-up were struggling to gel as a team.

"We have a big squad with a lot of good players, but you can have as many good players as you want, at the end of the day you have to be a good team," he said.

"Hopefully, now we will start to be a good team."

Gallagher said the arrival of Pearson and his backroom team had lifted everyone within the camp, but said they would not underestimate Michael Appleton's Pompey.

"It has been fantastic," said Gallagher.

"We were disappointed when he left, but he is back now and everyone is thriving.

"We want to do well for him and for the club, the owners.

"But we will keep our feet on the ground and give Portsmouth the respect they deserve.

"Hopefully, we can go there, work as hard as them and then our quality will come through."

Just hope Gally can continue where he left off on Sunday.

I'd keep the same team.

Don't change an un-beaten team, so same team for me. I belive Nigel will keep the same team as well, I cannot see him messing about with a winning team. As for the match, I do think it will be tough, but these are the sort of games we have got to grind results out of.

Prediction: Portsmouth 1-2 Leicester [beckford, Nugent]

I didn't realise how heavily populated Hampshire is with City fans!!!

By the way I am going 3-1 City.

City always seem to do well at Fratton Park [Last season obviously excluded]

I know there is another family in Colden Common that are City fans, and a lad that used to come with us, but he's away at Uni now (aberystwyth).

I'm a Hampshire Fox too. Going down there from Alton on Sat with my Pompey supporting mate and his kid. It will be my 3 1/2 year old boys first Foxes game. Pray we get a win as this will be a game he will always remember (being his first). He is probably a bit young but it is as much for me as it is him as I don't get up to the KP much these days.

Although a member i have only got to KP stadium twice so far this season, unfortunately the last being the Millwall debacle. Hope your lad has a memorable day, and many more to come. We might not live in Leicester anymore but we have to spread the word, both my boys are city fans despite being born in Hants. 2--3 to the FOXES.
