Corky Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Being at Trent Bridge on the day we won the 4th Test in 2005 was pretty special. I was at the second day, when Freddie completed his hundred and we had Australia 99-5 at the close.
Simmo86 Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 I was at the second day, when Freddie completed his hundred and we had Australia 99-5 at the close. I really thought we were going to blow it, we only needed about 120 odd to win (off the top of my head) and proceeded to watch Warney tear us a new one until Gilo and Hoggy saw us through. Going to stick my 2005 Ashes DVD on now
Fox92 Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Only ever been to football grounds (because I don't like other sports), watching Leicester. Been to 41 different grounds (obviously been to most of them more than once), but my favourite is Anfield.
Finnegan Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Everybody ready for a predictable post? Did love Camp Nou, though. And am a little disappointed I missed the opportunity to go to the races in Hong Kong. Won't make that mistake again if I get to go back.
Got Any Uncle Ben's? Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Not really been to anywhere good compared to others on this thread. But sitting on Centre Court at Wimbledon this year was pretty special.
purpleronnie Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 I've been lucky enough to visit some of the best stadiums in the world, have to say nothing beats the american stadiums for design and epic scale. My favourites just happen to be in texas where I used to work:- My favourite was kyle field And the new cowboys stadium was like something from a futuristic movie:- They make the new wembley with all its blandness and lack of atmosphere pale into insignificance. Outside of texas my faves would be seattles and pittsburgh:-

ajthefox Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Not really been to any significant stadiums apart from Wembley and the Emirates. I'm an architecture student so I love looking at this kind of stuff though.
Tielemans63 Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Australia v England at the MCG on boxing day 2010 was a pretty amazing experience. I've also been to see El Classico at the Bernebeu in 2007 when Real won 4-1 - unbelievable atmosphere.
Finnegan Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 I could literally not sit at the edges of the stands at Kyle Field. I would seriously shit myself.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 This time last year I was on the way out to Australia for the ashes series and it got me wondering what's the finest sporting arena you have been to? It's a toss up for me between the MGM Grand Garden Arena for atmosphere when Hatton fought Mayweather but I think the SCG is probably the greatest sports venue I have been present at, magnificent setting. When I was in Australia in 2005/06 a friend who worked at the SCG got us tickets for the New Year test. We had to fly home and couldn't take them <_<
Lamby Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 I liked White Hart Lane tbh, FA Cup 3rd round last seaon, first time I've been to a Premiership ground and I was just amazed by it

MrFox781 Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 http://v7.lscache8.c.bigcache.googleapis.com/static.panoramio.com/photos/original/15097538.jpg Went to watch Benfica vs Arsenal this summer whilse on holiday and honestly it was amazed by the atmosphere created compares to the KP stadium.
Lamby Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Amazed by what? Try going to grounds such as Exeter and Peterborough then go to one like WHL, its amazing in every aspect..apart from the climb to the top tier
Simmo86 Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Try going to grounds such as Exeter and Peterborough then go to one like WHL, its amazing in every aspect..apart from the climb to the top tier I'd take the Moyes End Terrace at Posh everyday over being stuck in that corner at WHL
Guest MattP Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 That Texas A&N Stadium looks amazing, I've been to Wisconsins college football stadium but that looks twice as big!
purpleronnie Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Try going to grounds such as Exeter and Peterborough then go to one like WHL, its amazing in every aspect..apart from the climb to the top tier But surely your home ground is pretty close to the size of WHL? You make it sound like its this incredibly massive stadium, instead of a medium sized premiership stadium. But hey you were amazed. I wouldn't go to wembley you'll pee your pants.

purpleronnie Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 I've been, twice and no I didn't So you were amazed by WHL but not by wembley?...maybe were more alike than I thought.
Narborough_fox Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Quite stunning. Top teir, 5 or 6 rows from the back. Just jaw-dropping.
