acooling08 Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Insanity. If I earned that much money, I would honestly give away at least £1'000'000 a year to charity.
Samilktray Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 How do you know he doesn't give any of his pay to charity?
Finnegan Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Mental. Would love to know what the average person in Cameroon earns.
StanSP Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Mental. Would love to know what the average person in Cameroon earns. Some info here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country#Minimum_wages_by_country
AyewJoking Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 dont hate the player, hate the game. Imagine how many tramps Balotelli could feed with that.
Fox92 Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 That money is insane, and at the end of the day it is only a game. Yes, I love the game, I love watching the greatest managers and the greatest players, but it is a game. A footballer isn't going to save anyone's life, perform major surgery or fly a plane full of passengers across the sea. However, if someone offers you that sort of money, you are not going to turn it down. If I earned that much money, I would honestly give away at least £1'000'000 a year to charity. Yeah of course you would...
Stevosevic Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Fair play to him. He's developed skills that the market will pay silly money for.
Guest shearfox Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Fair play to him. He's developed skills that the market will pay silly money for. Still got the ability to play at the top level but just wants the money...
Guest Bilo Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Apparently the average wage in Cameroon equates to about £900 a year. In other words, the amount Eto'o would take between 20 and 30 minutes to earn. Insanity.
Charl91 Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Still got the ability to play at the top level but just wants the money... Who wouldn't want that much money?

MrFox781 Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 He's worked hard to get there. But I would rather play for a big club and win the big trophies rather then earn that much
Charl91 Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 He's worked hard to get there. But I would rather play for a big club and win the big trophies rather then earn that much Maybe, but some football players aren't actually that interested in football (look at Owen for example, he's happy to pick up his pay-check, 'cus he cares more about horse racing). To quote Assou-Ekotto "If I play football with my friends back in France, I can love football," he says. "But if I come to England, where I knew nobody and I didn't speak English … why did I come here? For a job. A career is only 10, 15 years. It's only a job. Yes, it's a good, good job and I don't say that I hate football but it's not my passion. If you got offered a massive pay rise in your job to move, you'd take it, right? Most people would. It's hard to understand from our point of view, but we're looking at it from our view as fans, not players.
DB11 Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 He's worked hard to get there. But I would rather play for a big club and win the big trophies rather then earn that much No you wouldn't. Not when you've already played for a big club and won trophies. One last paycheck to set him up for life, and there's nothing wrong with that. He's worked hard to earn it; he'll be making the club a fortune in merchandise and shirt sales.

I'd easily give half of my wages away.
ScouseFox Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 He's already won everything there is to win a club level. If I'd won what he's won and was thinking about my career coming to an end, I'd be well up for earning over two grand an hour.
