A message for the 'fans'

Our fans need to realize something, yes on Saturday at 3 o'clock many of us may have to pay what seems an unreasonable amount of money to go and watch our beloved Leicester, however at 3 o'clock 11 human beings take to the field, their not football robots. I can remember when I used to be a competitive swimmer, our coach was a bitch, she had her favorites and always criticized people, it effected the way I performed, I was turning in poor times and getting fed up, but then along came our new coach, she was excellent, got behind every one and offered an arm when you needed it, Subsequently my times shot straight back up, and I was back performing at a high level! The thing is, football is no different, those 11 players need us, take stoke for example they are not the prettiest side in the Premier league and for a while were punching above their weight. But their fans never stop singing and it drives them to do well for them! We have to do the same! when Richie misplaces a pass he probably thinks he has already done it in his head, because he knows straight away that he will get bood! they are not crap players, the way we treat them is crap, we need to get behind them, as soon as we are under the cosh the moaners come out, shouting you're shit so and so, and imagine how that player would feel if they heard that.....we are terrible, and we need to change. Imagine on Tuesday if those players come out to a wall of noise, when 20 odd thousand people sing you're name, it will effect you! So on Tuesday get behind the lads! ****ing sing you're bastard lungs out, if you're going to pay the money then make it a good experience, don't sit there call the players shit and then ring Youngy up at the end of the game telling him how crap the atmosphere is. We do our part the players will do theirs, STOP CALLING THEM SHIT AND GET BEHIND THEM!!!!!!!

I see Hayley Gallagher taking shit of some Leicester fans on Twitter now.

So thats the players, players wives, management, owners, each other and even the local commentary team that our fans have slagged off.

Pearson said there was some 'dillusions of grandure'. He's absolutely spot on. Since Sven dropped Weale for Ricardo, the atmosphere and attitude at the stadium has become more negative with each game regardless of win, loss or draw. My last home game was against Palace and despite a resounding win, all people wanted to talk about was Kaspers save, Beckfords miss and a bunch of rubbish passes from Mills.

This bullshit about paying our money so we can say what we want is a load of shit. If I gave a tramp £20, I wouldnt be justified in screaming abuse at him for an hour because I dont like his life choices.

If you support a team, the clue is in the word. Booing isnt supporting. All it does is breed negativity. I know they're not playing well at the minute and I know the games are mostly shit. But it aint ever gonna get any better if the majority of the fans behave like they are.

I've been guilty of it in the past but looking from a distance, you can see the hypocracy of every single person in the stadium that abused the players today.

Ask yourself this question, if your boss came into you every day of the week and said, 'I pay your wages so i'm going to give you shit for a couple of hours', would you want to work for them?

Trying to compare giving a tramp twenty quid and paying a player twenty thousand quid a week is errant nonsense. And if I do not do my job properly then YES I do expect my boss to give me shit for a couple of hours in fact I would expect the sack. Stop trying to defend the undefendable you need to get to more games before coming on here calling us the real fans.

I hate us having big bucks to spend tho! When it first happened the thais coming in it was so exciting! Finally our team that has struggled but entertained us or years has now got lots of money to spend and big name manager at the helm! But bringing us to the present day it hasnt helped us 1 bit! What dya reckon? Just hope pearson can get us turned round and on the up bring in a few hungry quality players and give it a real go ! If we dont make the top 6 so be it! Just giving it a go. Players playing for the club/fans and giving the fans some entertainment/passion/fight. Then fans will be leave the ground happy and upbeat! Looking forward to the next outing! But at the minute. Fans are turning up expecting the worst !

This is delusions of failure - is this the real Leicester fan talking

I have to agree with this, the money does seem to have infiltrated every aspect of this club, including the fans, just to get something clear:

MONEY DOES NOT GUARANTEE SUCCESS!!!!

Look at QPR, the "Richest club in the world" for a while they took 3-4 years of heavy investment to get it right, and even now they are in the relegation zone.

Ignore how much we have paid for a player, if we had paid 100K for Matt Mills would his passing be any better, or would he get sent off less? No, so why do we constantly use his price tag to slag him off. As an example most of the fans loved Michael Morrison, he wasn't perfect he made mistakes, but because he was cheap and tried hard we didn't mind.

If I went to work and consistently put in half arsed shifts, without getting the job done, I'd expect to be down the job centre come Monday morning.

I am getting so bored of this argument too, it is not a job, it is playing sport, in a job you are given simple tasks which you need to complete that are within your skillset, or trained up to improve your skill set, so that you can complete more difficult/complex tasks.

Sport is different, and relies on so many factors, including your mental and physical state, and of course the opposition.

And of course mugs like us paying £27.00 to watch shit like the Barnsley game

Yup, it is expensive, simple solution, don't go. The only reason prices are that high is because fans pay it, fans being loyal and paying whatever they have to to watch a match has been exploited, and not at Leicester in particular, but all across the country, in Spain you can watch Valencia for 20 euros, 3rd best team in the country, except against Barca and Real you can turn up 20 minutes before kick off and buy a ticket, it's great. I do resent having to pay so match to watch players not put any effort in. Don't waste your money, it could be argued that if all the negative fans that get on people's backs didn't go the atmosphere would be better. I think the attendance on Tuesday will be interesting.

What I am saying is when you are there, you might as well try and have fun, my issue with some fans is that they enjoy moaning and complaining and getting on player's backs and using their price tag and wages as something to beat them with. In reality that is out of their control, the agents negotiate the best fee and wage possible not the players and they are not going to turn round and say, no that is too much, I am not worth 5 million. After you have spent your money, you are at the game, have a bit of fun, start a bit of banter (of the non racist kind obviously) have a laugh. Make the best of a bad situation, it is what we used to do, I don't think we ever booed when we got relegated under Little, I seem remember the atmosphere to be good fun, and when we did win it was oh so sweet, but even when we lost we were always in good voice and good spirits.

Yeah it's really sad, I bet Wellens cries all the way home then gets out a recent wage slip to cheer himself up, truth is most of the players on that pitch don't care about Leicester City and do you really think it bothers them if some overweight plumber from Birstall calls them names for a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon?

It's sad that we no longer have hungry passionate players, however I will still go down there week in week out and if I want to express my opinion I dam well will, I'm not going to applaud apathy and cheer incompetence even if you want to! :@

Unfortunately I can't make the forest game tomorrow, but if I was... Irrespective of result or how they played I'd applaud them! No need to

kick them when their down.

We have this poisonous atmosphere down at the KP at the mo which is helping no-one. I'm getting fed up of hearing whose been playing s**t and who needs to go, I just want them playing like they have some pride they want to salvage!

To be honest I don't give a monkeys about promotion this season either, if we don't get it and the Thais see fit to sack NP at the end of the season than I will probably reconsider renewing my season ticket.. The club needs stability, last time we did this sort of chopping and changing we went down!

I still don't get this argument, let's put it another way, they get paid whether they play well or not, so maybe money is not a motivating factor, even with a healthy win bonus they will still take home a good wage if the lose. So what are they playing for? They don't seem to be playing for each other, or for the manager, which is strange in the case of Wellens King and Gally as they played well for him before.

So what else could they be playing for? The fans, is it any surprise that the our best player is the one that gets the least stick from the fans, Kasper, and our worst players get the most stick (it's a bit chicken and egg, but it is related). We could have jumped on Kasper for some of his mistakes, and he has made some, but we don't. Whereas those that have played well for us in the past (Wellens and King) and this season (Gally) get slaughtered at every opportunity. Gallagher has scored 6 goals, I think, this season including 2 beauties against Palace, which he credited the fans with giving him the confidence to try that (of course this was interpretted as a dig at the fans). In subsequent games the fans have been on his back and others and has he been scoring long rangers? No.

Maybe not, maybe the players don't give a shit about the fans, it could be argued that the got amazing support against Forest, but didn't turn up to play, but we started poorly in that match, but the fans didn't get on their backs and we got back in to the game dominated the second half and should have won. We didn't but that's football.

I honestly believe that the players will play for the fans if given better support.

If this is the only reason the players are not putting in the effort, then I ask all the fans that attended the MON years to ask for the owners to knock down the current facilities and ask for a rebuild of Filbert St and go back to living of crowds of 14-21k but having a fantastic Pen 1 and 2, worth massive points every season i'm sure.

This works both ways, if the players look like they care they may get some support, give us something to cheer, a bit of effort, a tackle Anything would do, Kapser doesn't get stick, because he looks like it hurts him when things are going wrong, but on saturday wellens mills king etc, all just turned away and walked back to the centre circle, they just don't care.

I dont get to many home games because I live in the Wirral, but took my 4 yr old lad to the game, right behind goal family enc. He's been to a couple of home and plenty of away games. He was as bemused as I was, at the level of booing. "Are we booing the red team daddy?" he asked at half time. I didnt have the heart to tell him otherwise, as I was too ashamed to, and it would turn him into a bitter blue at a very early stage of his development! The performance on Saturday (Schmeichel excepted) was abysmal, and I'll probably comment on that separately. But to boo your own team, particularly at half time, is such a counter productive thing to do, that it beggars belief.

I accept that I dont attend all the games and the booing from some is pent up frustration from the last two months home performances. But regardless of that, I cannot see the point, we should always get behind our team and support them!

At the end of the game Schmeichel, who is let's face it, our only true premiership player, turned round and applauded the people at the family enclosure, as if to somehow acknowledge the substandard performance. He got a tremendous ovation from the fans. If we could somehow bottle his enthusiasm and commitment and re distribute it to some of the other players we would maybe get somewhere, but we cant. Even less so, his ability. The sad truth of the matter is that a great deal of the players we have are simply not good enough for upper Championship level, let alone Prem status.

It does work both ways, but we can't control what happens on the pitch, we can control what happens in the stands, and if we can motivate them we should be doing everything we can to do so. It is frustrating when you see a lack of effort on the pitch, and when they look like they don't care, but then you get people slating Wellens for shouting at people on the pitch. Some players can't win.

And he was the only player to walk the length of the pitch to aplaud the fans from the family end to the kop and got an ovation rom us all. Booing is stupid and he restores my faith there are players who care.

I think we have these "Get behind the Boys,Your team needs you' messages a little too often over the years!!!

Me tends to think it may not be the fans fault after all,as it is a tad TOO frequent!!!

It is not for the last two home performances it is a culmination of a good two seasons gone down the gutter and where we find ourselves at the moment when we should be doing so much better given the investment,

:yesyes: You are right Raj.

Simple concept- If we played well more often there wouldn't be booing. Unless we get bored of playing well and not needing to boo and decide to complain after a great result.

Could you imagine that- we beat Derby 4-0 and the team leave the pitch to a chrous of boos? :D

This is in no way a criticism of Schmichel, who i think is awesome, fantastic, and a great bloke as well as top keeper ....

He has been involved in football his whole life and saw first hand how to handle fans, team mates, directors etc from a true pro, his dad.

So I'm sure he hasn't got a PR advisor, and doesn't need one - he wins fans round by being himself.

I just wish that he had got a PR person or mentor, and that he could give NP their name and number .... because, for me, one of the big reasons NP has lost alot of fans backing is his attitude to the media - the media are the conduit for his message to the fans and by not gibing a toss about the media he is giving that impression to the fans. It's fine when you're winning league one, but when you're struggling then you need the fans patience and you need them on-side.

Posted

The rationale behind this woeful excuse of a reply is disconcertingly absent. Would you care to respond to individual points I made with why you think they contributed to the 'single stupidest post' you have ever seen? If not, why post this cowardly jibe instead?

Frankly I stopped reading at "

you really are entirely expendable", assuming you were referring to the moaning / complaining fans. If we whittled the club's fanbase down to just the people who will get behind the team regardless of performances / results, then it would be finished in no time. Hardly any fans in attendance at the games, hardly anyone watching us on TV, hardly anyone buying merchandise etc

I have been going down the city since 1958 when my dad first took me , and the one thing that has never changed about the Leicester fans is they will put up with anything except lack of effort. All the years of disappointment and under achievement never took away the magic of a untalented team that if nothing else gave it's all.

We were always the underdogs but had bags of fighting spirit that lifted the fans win or lose. And what do we have now ? the absolute opposite of every thing this club stood for in the past. The one thing City fans will not put up with is a player who could not give a toss about the club the manager or the fans and sees us as just a cash cow. The problem we have now is that is exactly the attitude of the greater part of our team. So if the only way I can let them know that their lack of effort is unacceptable is to boo them then that is exactly what I will do and continue to do until l they get the massage or fvck off.

This is simple and I can't understand the bollox on here or the issue for our players, look like you at least care ffs and show a little bit of passion, nobody near me on Saturday jeered Schemichael when he came over at the end of the game! :banghead:

Well if they don't start performing better soon they wont have any fans, after 40 years of support (home and away) I'm getting mighty peed off, not going to see us play Florist tomorrow night for the first time since we played them at home on 24th September 1977, that's how angry I am!
