PAULCFC Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 How ironic is the las bit on the post before"wear a belt"
iancognito Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Marginally better than Crawley away! All to play for, we will be obvious underdogs so no pressure. We ran them close twice in the league last season too, especially at their place and that was even when Sousa was still here! We could go one better this time, even though they're clearly a better side now than they were early last season. The scoreline was close down here but they could have had 5 on the night, we were terrible. They were by far and away the best passing team in the league last year, they've got the new O'Neill in charge without a doubt and Carrow Road is a hard place to get a result.
davelcfc100 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Thought to myself before the game as long as its not Norwich or everton I'm not fussed

Jagdinho Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 People who go on about what prices Norwich are gonna do. (ii) Competition Proper Immediately after the draw is known, the Club playing at home shall decide on the prices of admission, subject to a minimum price of £10.00 for all spectators other than concessions. The away Club‟s spectators can only be charged more than the home Club‟s spectators if mutually agreed by both Clubs This wasn't that same rules as last year!
Simmo86 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 We'll give them a decent game, no doubt about that. Won't be the walkover some people are expecting We'll give them a decent game, no doubt about that. Won't be the walkover some people are expecting
Leicester_Loyal Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Stop moaning people, its a pretty shit draw, lets be honest, but lets go there in thousands, sing our hearts out and hope we can pull off a win. Pull it off and we're in the last 8 and one match away from a semi final at Wembley. Lets have a bit of positivity, I believe we can do it. If MK Dons beat them 4-0, we can beat them.
Kitchandro Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Is it hell. We could have been drawn at Stoke, one of the London or Merseyside clubs, or a tinpot shed where we'd have had 800 tickets maximum. Or we could have spent days wondering what date and time the kick-off would be moved to. Instead we've got another decent Saturday awayday at a venue where many of us won't have been for a while. Norwich have had a decent season in the top flight, but they're not likely to take cups too seriously (hence their hiding AT HOME to Franchise) and will field a weakened side. Meanwhile, we're in the midst of our best winning run of the season, with key players (Beckford, Mills, St Ledger) finally starting to find form. Add Morgan, Delfouneso and maybe others to the mix and this will be far from the walkover some canaries may be expecting. Pearson managed Hull to victory last season and will fancy chances of a repeat. This has the makings of another Charlton 05, though it may also turn out to be another Blackburn 05. But if we catch them on an off day (as Franchise did), progress is possible. Fair point about Stoke (though I'd still say that's about on a par, not worse) but I'd much prefer the other possibilities you mention.
Ultra Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Stoke is a horrible town with no decent pubs, loathsome plastic fans and an equally despicable team. Norwich on the other hand, is a quality day out, loads of pubs, a loyal and sensible fanbase and some fairly decent players (except for Grant Holt). I know where I'd feel more comfortable. Our allocation of 4000 also lessens the possibility we'll be swamped with day-trippers who don't give a monkey's about the result, like the last time we went to Stamford Bridge.
He's not bald Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Could see this coming! Have to do the Journey to the "Tractor Shaggers" frequently and it's rubbish, rubbish ground, ignorant fans (who think they are better than they are). Would have preferred to have gone out in a blaze of glory against a real premiership team but I think it will be with a whimper against some farmers/cooks/scarecrows on a lucky streak!

Stoke I agree with. Any of the London or Merseyside clubs would have been more interesting (and let's face it, we'd probably have been about as likely to win there as at Carrow Road). And a tinpot shed would definitely be better!

Doub't their will be many day trippers, unless fox travel make the price of the bus cheaper than the ticket itself.....and as i recall the midweek game in west London wasn't so bad.Didn't you go to Cov 3 seasons ago or peterborough in L1?Anyway get a belt.
Dan Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 If it's over £20 then I'll wave it goodbye. It would be a joke for us to pay £25+ and Burnley only £15.

HitchinFox Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Rubbish draw. Disappointed. But not sure why people automatically think we'll lose? We've got more than a chance against them. Tough game for sure, but I'm confident about being able to defend against their threat. Holt and Morison? Championship strikers. They've done well this season but it's mainly because their gaffer is by far their most potent threat. Got an annoying nack of getting his plans right against teams. Probably the next Man Utd manager. Hopefully he won't spent too much time studying us! Crawley away would have been a dream - just so we could have been the ones to shut that twat Alan Williams up. He went on ITV earlier today saying: "On our day, Crawley can beat any team in the world at home, and I mean any team". Yeah, righto Alan.
flowwolf Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Allow me to sprinkle some reality dust in the air. Neither Norwich or us are going to win the F.A cup so save your money and buy your missus something instead.

Neither Norwich or us are going to win the F.A cup so save your money and buy your missus something instead. Never really understand this point of view when you consider that in the past 10 years the final has twice featured teams from outside the top division. A bit of luck in the draw, one or two unexpected results, and you're there at Wembley for final day. Granted neither Millwall nor Cardiff actually won the thing but once you've got to the final it's essentially up for grabs regardless of the opposition.
Bert Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 It's 35 miles away, it's not that near. 30 minutes on a train is fine with me.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Winnable we are on a good cup run confidence is high and anything can happen in the cup i'll be going and the missus can have a present some other time!
