family stand are the new Kop the majority of them joined in with the poznan and they've all got scarves and the enthusiasm is great the kop needs to get a grip it's on it's last legs as it is if they don't get behind support more i don't think it will ever get back to how it was

What is your problem with the Kop? the majority of your posts unjustly criticise it

I sit in the Kop myself and the majority of it joined in today.

lcfcstu - I'm gonna stop short of calling you an lcfcstu-pid twat (see what I did there...) because I kind of get what you're trying to say. But jesus christ, the atmosphere has clearly been much better since everyone's started singing this and everyone enjoys it, so why not just lighten the **** up and enjoy it?! If you're that dead set against it then just stand in silence with your arms crossed whilst it's being sung, but don't come on here pissing on everyone's positivity - there's really no need for it.

I'm not against the Kop, but i only heard it once and that was when everyone else was silent.

And you fooking hate the chant as well lol that's saying something :P

What do you suggest then?
That everyone carries on the traditional songs- WYS, Iwan Is A Welshman, Score Leicester Score, When You're Tired and Weary, We're Leicester City We Rule Supreme, bertie Mee Said To Bill Shankley, Bring On The Sunderland There's more variety in there than there was in 90 mins today. And I'm only 25, I don't even know the old stuff. One lad In know quite well, was asking me after Boxing Day what the 'hark now hear the Leicester sing' song was about. Now, I wasn't around then either. But I knew about it. Cos I learnt the history of the club.

I wonder how many of you posting on here could actually write each lyric word for word to the above songs I've mentioned? Without Googling them.

Haha I'm not that keen on the song, no (although it is growing on me game by game as it does sound pretty awesome over the radio). But I will never have a go at anything that improves the atmosphere, and this definitely has improved the atmosphere

Pretty sure I've heard other clubs singing them songs before with their teams name instead of Leicester.

You are very much correct in that belief.

Total side point and I'm sure others wonder, but St Pauli and Young Boys, can someone explain why they sing in English? lol

Like the fact we did the "we love you chant" rather than the pozan straight after Gallys 2nd goal. Made a nice change. Although the poznan did follow shortly after :)

Are you trying to impress me by saying how your parents told a few chants from back in the older days?

How can we 'carry on' chants that we hardly sing?

Have you just been dumped or something, cause your being a bit of a mardy arse.

My mums a bible basher and dads a Man Utd fan, so no, I can't say they knew/know those songs. Shine Jesus Shine maybe. If you were in L block today you'd have heard maybe two or three of the chants mentioned. Certainly WYS, Bring on The Sunderland and We're leicester City'

I'm more than happy actaully, she's out in Loughbrough and the lads are coming over to get on it thanks.

Bar WYS, loads of team sing their own version's of those songs!

Jesus Christ in fact every bloody team shares the same songbook just insert Derby, Port Vale or Morecambe into the same tune!

I really really don't get your problem with it, unless to create a reaction on here!

Some people need to stop living in the past and realise times and football has changed.

Football is now a family sport with a family environment so singing the classics about 'getting your head kicked in' or 'tiptoeing through the Trent end with a sawn of shot gun' isn't very family oriented lol

Not sure if anyone else has said this already, but did any one else see Matt Mills ( ) at the final whistle clapping to the crowd then twirling his hand? Now say the players don't care about the fans/atmosphere.

Yes it has. I'm not denying that. That's my point though. Don't you find it really sad that the atmosphere improves over a song that has no relation to our club whatsoever? I'd be bloody esctatic if our whole ground was able to sing WYS instead of this shite.

Everyone being the 20-30 14 years olds around you and the 5 year olds in the family stand?

And believe it or not, this is exactly what I do

If everyone back in the day went in with your attitude we wouldn't have any songs. What connection did WYS have to Leicester when it started? People just took it and carried it on.

'We Love You' will probably fizzle out in a couple of months/years but now just be grateful that we have some sort of atmosphere at home!

Now you're older than me so I'll listen to you and take your points. I wouldn't say loads of teams. Certainly Forest sing 'keep the red flag flying high' I've never heard Iwan is a welshman, (cant be arsed to keep using punctuation) Score *whoever* score, bertie mee,

Its not about creating a reaction. I hate the song/chant or whatever. What would be best admittedley would be to shut up and let it die a natural and quick death

I don't know. But Leicester fans older than me sang it during my formative years so I copied.

Exactly, it was a song with no connection to Leicester but someone started singing it at a game and it caught on. Nobody went '**** it I ent singing this shit cos it's got no connection to Leicester'

All songs have to start somewhere, as someone pointed out further up football is a totally different game now, songs like this are going to be more the norm, so either go with the flow and enjoy or go to every home game and be bitter at whats being sung!

I know what I'd choose

Iwan is a welshman and when your tired and weary both got sung in the kop today, admittedly not by enough people to make it heard though.

You`ll never walk alone, used to be sung by every clubs fans in the 70`s and 80`s, even though it was started at Liverpool.

Fans have always copied each others songs, even back to when i first started going down, in the early 70s.

It would be better if we sung a bigger variety of songs though, i will give you that.

One of the problems with the kop, is that although there are alot in there that want to sing, theres also alot that go in there because it`s cheaper, and have no real interest in the singing.

If you go back to the old filbo days, and when the kop was penned off, we all knew that pen 2 and 3 were the place to be, to have sing and a jump around.

The problem now, is that the singers are spread around the kop in general, and not all together, so it`s difficult to really get things going, because quite often we end up with different parts of the kop, singing different songs at the same time!

This is another reason that "when your smiling" hardly ever really takes off in the kop, because by the time one end of the kop realise it`s being sung, it`s just about already finished, and it`s not one of them songs that we sing over and over.

One of the good things about the "we love you song" is, everyone knows it`s being sung and as it goes on and on, people get plenty of chance to join in with it.

Iwan is a welshman- plenty of teams sing songs to my old man's a dustman

Tired and Weary- think brum sing a version

We're Leicester City- Leeds and others sing it

Bertie Mee said to Bill Shankly- pretty sure Liverpool sing it, others up north do too

Hark now Hear- sung my many

The other week I watched some old FA Cup finals, and noted that everybody used to sing You'll never walk alone

Proof that most chants aren't original so anybody who complains about We Love You should think twice. Creates an atmosphere and seems to have a positive effect on the players, two things those chants don't do because for whatever reason they are rarely sung. Things move on, stop living in the past.
