psychonaut Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Spot on, but just to add, the one thing that baffles me with Gallagher is that he can hit a dead ball from 30 yards over a wall and score, and yet he cannot beat the first man on a corner, and the reason we lie mid table is because of these in/out players who suffer huge dips in form, top post DavieG I dont think its a dip in form with Gallagher I just think he isnt good enough period. Certainly no where near good enough for a team chasing promotion to the EPL. We cannot afford to carry him just for his half a good game in 6.
Jimmy Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Dyer probably suffered from a lack of supports as he never actually attacked his full back and spent half his time in the middle of the bloody pitch
8starstriker8 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 I was at the game last night and gally seemed like he didn't want to be there. as soon as drinkwater came on it seemed like there was more passion in the team. something i havn't seen happen at LCFC for a long time.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Hmmmm seemed to me like Gally was all over the pitch especially Dyers side just desperately trying to give him options forward. He wasn't lacking passion and looked sorry he was subbed. He wants to make amends for Barnsley and he looks determined t score unlike Danns who has become Oakley when it comes to having a pop outside the box but ill forgive him because unlike this lot Danns isn't a Scapegoat. Gally is 1 man in an 11 man team that team drew last night and like it or not he contributed as much as the rest of the team
Fox92 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Gallagher is not good enough. I don't think he is the scapegoat, because I haven't rated him since he joined. Doesn't tackle, poor in the air, doesn't score enough goals, set pieces are rubbish. He is a one good game in 10 player, and if we want to push for promotion players like this are not good enough for our team.
paddy Agyemang Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Crap never likely to get into my line up ATM until he shows he's not a pussy
Simo86 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Crap never likely to get into my line up ATM until he shows he's not a pussy He'll never be in your starting line up then
Captain... Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 I like Gallagher, but he was not the man for the job last night, Boro were a physical team on a cold night, he just never really got going, his set-pieces were poor and he was rightly replaced. Last night we needed someone to get stuck in and not get muscled off the ball, I am not just saying it was Gally who was at fault, Dyer, Konchesky, Wellens, Peltier, Danns even SSL (admittedly with an elbow) all got pushed around and off the ball. We couldn't compete physically last night, and although the ref was atrocious it is disappointing that our yellows were mainly for dissent and not for getting stuck in. Drinkwater added a bit more bite when he came on and looked much better than Gallagher, although his mistake for the goal is disappointing, Fonz also looked good, they both kept the ball much better than their replacements and were more physical, which was needed.

blueoveru Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Gallagher is an enigma when he's on form he's very good, but sadly lacks consistancy, but a few of then are the in the same mould as him, and that is why we are where we are. Drinkwater on the other hand even after half a game showed what we lack .....mobility in central areas, finding spaces, for collecting a return ball and his general enthusiasm should help.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Well... He has a sharp strikers touch he has pace and goes down like a striker. Can't make a tackle never seen him do that once and not good at holding play. Good ball retention and i agree his corners are repetitive and not good enough but as i reiterate no one else stands up to take them? i'm sure he'd be open to let other players get involved

When did he get that? He is definitely not a striker, when he's been deployed there in the past he has looked lost! He wants to take everything, and no one else has a say in the matter.
seenitall Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Gallagher = The new Richie Wellens (aka scape goat). Makes a change from Mills and Beckford eh?
jonlcfc1990 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 hmmm i seem to remember one corner where he didn't go to it... And no one else did? It took 3 minutes before Waghorn went over pinged it to their first man and we got on with the game and yes Pace with the ball i'd say not raw pace but he knows when to use it. As for striking he's not had a fair go at it i think PLUS we didn't have all these other strikers for him to possibly partner would nugent be any better than gally on the wing? howard? schlupp? Waghorn had the same problem being stuck in this quick fix position and thats why his goal rate wasn't so good

Guest parky0607 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Nothing to cheer? Where you not there then when this happened? Lets not mention the fact that when we do get a penalty his conversion rate is unbelievable so much to say when we get a penalty its in! I'm sick of people getting on his back i don't see anyone else going for every corner going for every free kick do you? No wonder with all the abuse gallagher brings on himself Danns had one corner was horrible did the crowd boo and jeer and want him subbed? Oh no a wave of support had washed over their sad little faces singing we love you palace Leicester so everyone ignored it oh and konch's free kick but again it doesn't matter because we were getting behind the lads LIKE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO! Gallagher is a good player he isnt a winger but he's happy to get his place where ever it is on the pitch because for some strange reason he still loves playing for the people who boo and cheer when he gets subbed and abuse his Wife on twitter. No one mentions Kaspers 40% rate on Goal kicks (ATLEAST HE SHOWS passion) or the fact that Danns looks like a lost child sometimes and nearly gave away a goal similer to the SOTON mistake on monday(HES FUNNY ON TWITTER INIT), Maybe this is what we do now moan until there good hasn't anyone learnt their lesson from Beckford? Booing him Berating him wanting him gone now? they'd let him do them from behind it's just pathetic. TRY SUPPORTING HIM! I'm fully behind whoever posted this - in total agreement Sick of seeing a 'Gallagher' thread after every match, just because he doesn't lunge into tackles and get himself sent off - hes crap and shows no passion. For those of us who have a relative understanding of the game, Gallagher focuses more on holding the player, pressurising him into a pass which may go AWOL under pressure. This also slows the move down and allows our own players to get back into position, and stops the opposition from 'dinking' it past and running on. It is important that we have a balance of players who do this as well as players who's strengths lie in tackling itself. As I have mentioned in the past, football is a game in which you win by scoring goals. Gallagher is currently one of our top scorers, so like it or lump it, it's crucial that he's in the squad - I wonder if the people who are calling for him to leave are also calling for his match winning goals to leave too (including penalties)? Please BORE OFF with these threads - there are countless other threads from our previous games which can easily be extended if you are that way inclined, there is no need to start a new thread after every game.
seenitall Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 His free kicks and corners are woeful though - and if we don't discuss the players, can't moan about the owners or managers, what the hell are we supposed to talk about on here?
Thracian Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Gallagher = The new Richie Wellens (aka scape goat). Can't help but agree. Our fans seem to need to have someone to pick on. I don't understand it and cannot see how it helps.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 No one is saying kill the debate i think there are good arguements for both camps but the point is it's a team game a team effort and a team result so to single out a player who must be low on confidence not passion confidence after beeing booed and sarcasticly cheered off by his home fans maybe it's a bit harsh to kep singling out his ineptitude when he's not the only member of the team
StanSP Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 His free kicks and corners are woeful though - and if we don't discuss the players, can't moan about the owners or managers, what the hell are we supposed to talk about on here? It's hardly 'discussing' the players (in the main) when it's just thread after thread after thread of just lambasting and in essence, scapegoating. Can't help but agree. Our fans seem to need to have someone to pick on. I don't understand it and cannot see how it helps. Same. Even if we were top of the league, clear by a few points, fans would still find that one player to blame for not making us further clear. It's at every club, not just Leicester, though!
StanSP Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 He thinks he is Beckham.... He is not... How do you know he thinks he is Beckham? Has he said that to you? It appears that a lot of fans want to think he is Beckham. They're just blinded if they do.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 He thinks he is Beckham.... He is not... Oh please! Ronaldo thinks he's messi he is not Ferdinand thinks he's young he's not and Danns might think he's the next XAVI Who gives a flying Fvuck there is no evidence for that claim let alone the fact that Gallagher is often shy to come forward to the press fans and media he much prefers letting his play do the talking. He knows his own ability and he knows more than you about who he thinks he is!
cc_star Posted 2 February 2012 Posted 2 February 2012 Gally closes players down most people don't see this through their blind mob-mentality rage, he also plays insightful passes and does a lot of good work. His weak areas are tackling (what a shocker for a technical player). Christ some of Kasper's decisions are woeful but I would never start a thread slagging him off, 50% of Mills passing is woeful, Konch is prone to a lofted ball which loses possession, Peltier is often out of position, yes Gally doesn't tackle but he does trackback & press, Danns fouls a lot & loses possession, Wellens is apparently the devil, Dyer is weak at crosses (many fast wingers actually are) Beckford is uninterested & lazy The list goes on & on Sick of the witch-hunts on FT. Every player has faults if they didn't they'd be £50m+ and wouldn't play for us
