Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Still isnt good enough or consistent enough to start for us but he is decent as a squad player.
leicesterisme Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 The idiots that were booing him would be the first if he went on a run of games playing well to say 'I've always rated Gallagher' I've seen the fvcker happen before, I absolutely despise some of our fans.
Captain... Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Anyone booing Gallagher today should be punched in the kidneys. We had gone a bit flat, and we needed a change tactically, it also makes sense to rest a couple of players with a match on Monday, so the right subs at the right time, good to see him come back from injury and get a run out aswell. So why boo him? It's not like we were chasing the game and brought on Gallagher in place of Dyer, when Dyer is more likely to create/score. Even then I wouldn't boo. I really don't get it, absolutely shameful. do you support Mills then? If Mills ever takes the field in a Leicester shirt again, I will support him.
Daggers Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 I'm so bored of Leicester fans and their fluctuating hatred of players and managers. The fact that this seems to have caught on with people I thought had some brains makes it even worse, it's as if we live in microworlds where the only important things are the last and next 24 hours. Crap game? Bin him and get someone else for the next one. Great game? Moan about it and demand the impossible. Regardless of result, let's change the manager for someone almost as Godlike as Martin Allen. It's inane. It's ridiculous.
Charl91 Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 I'm in 2 minds about Gallagher. I quite like him as a player. But he's not a winger, yet I'd be reluctant to play him as a striker either. I think he'd make a good attacking midfielder, but we don't really have space for one in our formation.

Used to like visiting this forum, now actually can't face it as it winds me up way too much. We won 4-0 today and still some are bitching rather than just enjoying the fact we won. The majority on here seem to fluctuate between despair and elation without any middle ground, totally devoid of any perspective. There is a core of quality posters on here still, but sadly very much in the minority.
wight88 Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Whilst he is right to be annoyed with some fans, many still support him. When he blanks the bloody family stand who were clapping him when warming up it's pretty pathetic. On the subject of the family stand we were sat a few seats ago from some utter disabled in N1 row MM/NN seat 54-58 ish who booed his nuts off when Gallys name was announced as the scorer. To describe him as a helmet would be deeply disrespectful to the good folk of the helmet community.
FoxyPV Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Gally will now be a peripheral figure with Marshall showing his worth.
stourbridgefox Posted 7 April 2012 Posted 7 April 2012 Gallagher is a different type of winger to Dyer and when he came on he made a difference. One of his through balls to Beckford was stunning, although nothing came of it. That said, he does have his weaknesses. He cannot head a ball to save his life and he isn't great at tackling. But...a player with Gallagher's technical and scoring ability with the above abilities as well? Would he be playing in the Championship?

Mills has been so villified I swear General Ned Ludd has been urging people were taking to the streets with flaming torches. It's all about General Chat and cheesecake.

I don't rate him and never have. And if he went on a run of games I wouldn't change my mind, but there's no chance of me being put in that position, because I've got more chance of going on a decent run than Gallagher.
ithuriel Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 I had always rated Gally as a very good player but this season he seems to have been just phoning in a lot of appearances. With Marshall now on the pitch he is going to have to work for his place and if Drinkwater can improve and new players come in he may find himself warming the bench more often than not. I do not condone booing but when you know a player can do better and does not i'm guessing frustration settles in and then a growing dislike and that player becomes the focus of all that is wrong in the team. This season there have been a fair few candidates
Rob1742 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Gallagher has had a mixed season without question. Some poor performances mixed with some excellent goals. Support him today, as he came on yesterday, didn't put a foot wrong and scored. So why criticise on a day like today?
accessory Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Dissing fans is way out of order. Beckford has had far worse stick at times during the past few months (and sometimes for good reason), yet he applauded all sides of the ground as he was subbed yesterday. There's no reason why Gally shouldn't be man enough to do the same.
Bert Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Did everything required of him when he came on yesterday.
AKCJ Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Did everything required of him when he came on yesterday. I disagree. 'All' he did was score a fairly simple goal. Did nothing to affect the play IMO. Another typical Gallagher performance covered up by a goal.
Charl91 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 He scored a good goal, and tracked back and defended. Thought he put in a good performance.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Game was dead by the time he and King came on so can't give a true reflection on his performance.
Charl91 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Game was dead by the time he and King came on so can't give a true reflection on his performance. True, but he can only play against the opponents that are there.
Corky Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 I must've missed the booing when he came on. Though I suppose the cheers for King drowned them out.
Guest parky0607 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 I disagree. 'All' he did was score a fairly simple goal. Did nothing to affect the play IMO. Another typical Gallagher performance covered up by a goal. Jesus Christ, is this for real? Coming off the bench and getting stuck into the game is one thing. If you have ever played a serious 11 a side game you would know this. Playing a good variety of through balls, I counted at least 3 decent passes. He tracked back a number of times, I saw him in line with defence and supporting a few times He made himself available by moving into space, many players were struggling to do this yesterday. Scored a goal with a composed finish. Schlupp lost his composure twice in front of goal (as a definitive striker). Gallagher has been played as a midfielder for the majority of the season with less practice and chances as schlupp. I dont know what more he could have brought to the game, given the scenario and time he was on the field.
Stevosevic Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 He played well when he came on and is obviously a good enough squad player.
muzzy1981 Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Good servant for th club, deserves another season, shouldn't be in every week. Be good to see another quality wide man at the club, a better version of dyer
whoareyaaa Posted 8 April 2012 Posted 8 April 2012 Although he does get slated a lot I will always thought his prefered postion was striker?
