cosmos Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Just a few questions If pearson can't see how bad gally and wellens are then why is he our manager if he has a footballing brain then surely he can see just how bad peltier is positionally he was a defender surely he can see st ledger loses almost every ball he jumps for gally rarely challenges for the ball in the air and steps out of a great many tackles drinkwater although a good prospect does tend to give the ball away on occasions why can't marshall get a start there is absolutely no doubt that pearson is picking his favourites and and there is a them and us situation in the team, the two culprits being wellens and gally-drop them both and that's going to be the start of better days because we're effectively playing with 9 or 10 men
jonlcfc1990 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 The SSL Love in thread is going to be so wounded And as for this "opinion" I think the Honeymoon was over when people booed them off against Barnsley and wanted Warnock so i think your a tad too late about 7 games too late WWWDLWL
Babylon Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Just a few questions 1. If pearson can't see how bad gally and wellens are then why is he our manager 2. if he has a footballing brain then surely he can see just how bad peltier is positionally 3. he was a defender surely he can see st ledger loses almost every ball he jumps for 4. gally rarely challenges for the ball in the air and steps out of a great many tackles 5. drinkwater although a good prospect does tend to give the ball away on occasions 6. why can't marshall get a start 7.there is absolutely no doubt that pearson is picking his favourites and and there is a them and us situation in the team, the two culprits being wellens and gally-drop them both and that's going to be the start of better days because we're effectively playing with 9 or 10 men 1. How bad were they both on Saturday? And why were you not demanding them to be dropped after that game? 2. Did he not sub him early yesterday? 3. St Ledger had been ok, it would have been harsh to drop him for anyone straight away. But we signed Morgan for a reason. 4/5/6. Marshall will probably be one of the long term replacements, the kid has only just joined. So you want Marshall to start but slag off probably our best performer in recent weeks. I'd want to stay on the bench if I was Marshall, people seem to think you are better than anyone playing that way. 7. Picking favourites? He's picking two players Sven always played when fit. Were they his favourites as well? Gallagher and Wellens have the same problem has 70/80% of our players, none of them can bring consistancy to the table. The new players need time to bed in and they will eventually start taking the places of some of the old guard.

You're 100% right but he also has to be able to replace those players in a transfer window. This was not possible in January because nobody would sell and most players wouldnt want to come due to league position. When the slate is wiped clean come July 1st these players will be replaced. He's had his hands tied.

He's had his hands tied. This is correct to a certain extent. The problem I go back to is who will he be able to attract to drastically improve us if he can not handle volatile yet gifted players. If he gets the summer to get his own players in I would be amazed if he is still in a job by the end of October if he has the start that Sven had this season. I doubt 8th or 9th after a dozen games will be enough for the Thais. Cue yet more upheaval.

I think the key thing is to get into those playoffs as soon as possible I don't know what the target the Thais have set next season but it will probably be automatic promotion.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 I never quite follow this 'playing your favourites' thing. When I'm putting on a CD, selecting a chocolate from the box or deciding which bowtie to put on I usually pick my favourites. I could pick the ones I don't like or have low expectations of, but then I'd rightfully be accused of being a contrary bugger. I'm going to go out on a crazy limb here but I suspect that Pearson's favourites are the players he thinks are the best. They may not be everyone's favourites. Some people like Coffee Creams

Guest Col city fan Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Criticising Drinkwater already Danny Drinkwater is the best young player we have signed in recent years. It's of no surprise to me that we went on to lose the game last night when he had to go off. He wants the ball from the back and forces us to build up the play. The lad is the future of the team. I've only seen him play a few times and already think this. We have a very nice player here. A few more players of his quality and we will improve considerably. What we need to lose is the great one week, awful the next players.. We have too many of these.... The Championship is a long, slog of a season and we cannot carry the players who shine one week and go missing the next. Beckford, Gally, Mills and Danns are the ones I'd be more than happy to lose from this squad.
MrFox781 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Heard this so many times. its just getting boring.
hackneyfox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 You'd lose Beckford and Danns but not Dyer????? Dyer is consistantly shite, how he stays in the team is beyond me. Bentleys Roof is in meltdown and most want FNP replaced as soon as someone decent is available, may don't want to wait that long. We're getting further away from the play-off positions and yet Marshall and Delfonso can't get a game. If Mills is a problem then drop him and put Morgan in.

We're getting further away from the play-off positions. We're closer position wise compared to when Sven left
nedfox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Well suprise suprise lose a game and the doom merchants have their black caps on again. Listen to the BBC sport interview with NP after last nights game the whole team will be having their nuts run off them in training today instead of an easy day before a cup game on Saturday. If the team selection before the Palace game threw up some suprises watch out for the selection against Norwich. Beating Cardiff and losing to Watford will have stung NP and the backroom boys into a frenzy changes will be swift and not just for a few games unless injury or stupid red cards tigh their hands.
foxaholic Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Alan young gave him man of the match so he must have played well How can an automatic choice for Eire be a bad player . Arguably they are as good as England
Callabinho Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 What a stupid thread, Nigel has eluded to the fact that changes will be made, I think Matt Mills will loose his place, as will Pelts. So the back four for Norwich should be Konch, Morgan, Bamba, Paintsil. I can see Nige bringing Bamba back into the team, despite what some people say about him our defence hasn't exactly been “solid” since his departure.
cosmos Posted 15 February 2012 Author Posted 15 February 2012 I'm not a doom merchant far from it, that's why i did a 200 mile trip to follow my team knowing i had to be up at 4am for work, i'm just another fan who expects better from professional footballers, i've not got an axe to grind with drinkwater either i just feel our players should be accountable for mistakes that cost us points whether it's him or anyone else who makes them. Pearson has now had enough games in charge and seen enough shit to start doing something about it, get some of our young players in and whether we win lose or draw they'd show passion and want to represent our club. When SSL gets into his bentley do you really think he gives a damn whether we get promoted or not?
