HEGGSY Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Its been tried and tested with the fosse boys and i feel theres no better time then to kick this off. We all sit in envy of st.paulier, celtic and even palace with the fanatics they have behind them. Theres no reason why we cant be on the same level. Our away support is unbeleveable and if we can manufacture that into home games then it can only be a good thing. Atmosphere is number one and its encouraging to see the amount of posts recently of people crying out for atmosphere. Theres many threads i have seen on hear wanting atmosphere and this is just another one but we are a big club, with big support and a big stadium....and all it takes is all of us like minded people to do this. Being from the filbert street era atmosphere was not hard to come by and never thought back then our club would turn into the graveyard of atmosphere it is now at home and its time to turn the king power stadium into filbert street. So what exactly are you suggesting we do? I dont mean for that to sound sarcastic in anyway, its a genuine question

broughtonblue Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 So what exactly are you suggesting we do? I dont mean for that to sound sarcastic in anyway, its a genuine question Why don't we swap the kop with the family stand? Oh no sorry, this has been mentioned hundreds of times in the countless threads similar to this!
MPH Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Ultras are a type of sports fans renowned for their fanatical and elaborate displays of "support". They are predominantly European and followers of football teams. The behavioral tendency of ultras groups includes the use of flares (primarily in tifo choreography), chanting/singing in large groups and the displaying of banners at football stadiums, all of which are designed to create an atmosphere which they believe encourages their own team and intimidates opposing players and supporters. The actions of ultras groups can occasionally be overly extreme and are sometimes influenced by political ideologies or views on racism,[1] in some instances to the point where the central ideology of the ultras phenomenon, passionate and loyal support of one's team, becomes a sideshow.[2] In recent decades, the culture has become a focal point for the movement against the commercialization of sports and football in particular so you just want people to sing a bit louder and wave their scarf about?

FuriousFox46 Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 so you just want people to sing a bit louder and wave their scarf about? That's the best idea since proposing the Kop and Family stand swap!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Not having a go but you do realise responding with a wiki meaning of ultras wasn't actually suggesting anything. There has been 1000's of threads on here discussing atmospher and ways of improving it, so i'm not sure what you are actually proposing tho.
Kitchandro Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Good job you mentioned the Fosse Boys, things could have got nasty Firstly, I think it must be said that the atmosphere has been significantly better in the last 2 home games. In fact it's been arguably better than anything a small Ultra group could do, as there's been involvement from a decent percentage of 3 stands, at least with the scarf waving and we love you. One thing to take from that is that the second most vocal stand was the family end. People have been saying recently that they'd rather bein there than in the Kop these days. So my advice would be to do that. It doesn't matter what the stand is called. All the vocal fans that sit in the Kop should move over to the Family stand. Eventually, if you can get a decent number in there, we will essentially make it the Kop and the club will be forced to call it that. Failing that, move to J. The idea that we can get the whole stadium partaking in a lot of chants is too ambitious. The best bets are to spread the vocal support along the East Stand, and to get another section on the other side of the away fans.
Dan Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Good craic there by everyone "you want us to be racist", clearly not. Sadly we've got a club who are about as anti this kind of thing as you'll ever see, so it's a serious long shot, our fans have never seemed bothered enough but there is a bit more unity over the past few games and I'm impressed.
Daggers Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 This sort of thing should only include proper fans
MPH Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 so what are you actually proposing? or are you just wanting fans to be more vociiferous?
m00nie Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 we could make stickers and stick them on lamposts etc..
Ozwin Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Seeing it written down 'The Fosse Boys' does sound pretty gay.
Daggers Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 we need a leader. like jobber is to l1 we need at the forefront to start the chants etc, like the old days of Sumo starting the chants off at filbert street, something along them lines How about something different? How about a stand-load of people playing Grandma's Footsteps or Leapfrog or Hide & Seek? That'd be awesome.
The Doctor Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Seeing it written down 'The Fosse Boys' does sound pretty gay. how can it sound if it's in the written rather than spoken word?
yorkie1999 Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Why don't you just go with the flow and see where it ends up instead of trying to start daft groups called ultras
Captain... Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 How about something different? How about a stand-load of people playing Grandma's Footsteps or Leapfrog or Hide & Seek? That'd be awesome. CONGA!!!!! Seriously, at the OP, get off your arse and do it, don't just tell us what we need, we know what we need, less talking more shouting, all I hear is talk, have you tried contacting the club see if you can organise something with their backing. Or just let it happen naturally as it did with the we love you chant and scarf waving. Starting a thread saying we need some Ultras is not going to acheive anything.
Daggers Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 We need more flares. You Norfolk folk are soooo desperately unfashionable. Culottes is where it's at.
AoWW Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 You Norfolk folk are soooo desperately unfashionable. Culottes is where it's at. I dunno - this chap is sure to scare off the opposition fans...
The Doctor Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 You're both wrong. We should all be wearing bermudas.
Daggers Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 I dunno - this chap is sure to scare off the opposition fans... Dressing up sheep is not considered clever or funny outside of Norfolk
yorkie1999 Posted 20 February 2012 Posted 20 February 2012 Dressing up sheep is not considered clever or funny outside of Norfolk Yes but once you get a good un you've gotta look after it
