OVER !

The odds are against us but Leeds drew with hull blackpool lost! Results can still go our way! It's not over just yet! So we lost! Do you seriously think we were going to finish the season unbeaten? That would be naive!

Up until tonight I still thought we had a small chance, but not anymore.

They seem to be a bunch of bottlers. Play well when theres no pressure but then when they are expected to/need to win, they don't even put in a half decent performance.

We were always going to lose in Brizzle, it was inevitable. We've not beaten 'em for four years! It does, I think, bring a close to the season and I do now worry for NP...

I don't know how anybody can be pissed off that this match has ruined our season mind. Setting aside the fact that there's no such thing as one result determining a season, only a fantasist would look at our season so far and genuinely believe we'd make the play-offs. How many times do you need to see us lose matches that we're 'expected' to win before you realise that we don't have the mental toughness?

Ok so a few points:

1. I didn't follow this game at all - unless you count BBC updates (I don't!) - so that's a caveat to this post.

2. So with the logic of many on this thread - we couldn't afford to lose another game this season? WHAT? - If that was the case the season was over a LONG TIME AGO!

3. So we play well under no pressure but play bad under lots of pressure? Where have you all been - doubles over Soton, Home win over Brighton, doubles over local rivals Cov and Derby, great performances/wins over Forest and cardiff and Middlesbrough. Bad performances/losses against Watford, Brighton, Bristol, etc - It seems like we play well against the better teams and worse against the poorer teams to me.

4. I am somewhat drunk - so take me with a reasonable pinch of salt.

Glad you qualified that because there's no other explanation for including Brighton in your list of 'poorer' teams. They've been better than us all season.

I don't think there is as much pressure on the players when we play the bigger teams because if we lose the fans arn't as dissapointed. But when we play the poorer teams I think there is more pressure because we expect them to win and the players know this.

The poorer teams are more physical and it seems we just can't compete or don't have the bottle.

We both agree about playing better against the better teams I guess we just disagree about when the players feel more pressure.

Why ?

Do you think NP would have come back to Leicester City without protecting his own interests in writing beforehand.

I reckon NP had next season in mind when he agreed anyway.

Some of the players don't seem bothered, when it comes to games against lower table teams they don't work for it.

EDIT: Our season it over, everyone says we are only 7 points off which is true but birmingham, hull and cardiff have 2 games in hand.
