.............We ditched Pearson....... This type of football isnt going to get us anywhere.... Robot players who "kick it, run with it, head it" that type of footy does not get us promoted. Take a look at Norwich and Southhampton, even Reading, playing top quality football. He has Steve Walsh (as stated in the last match program) checking players ratings each week, how many times they have passed the ball, how far they have ran, how many tackles they have made... Come on.... they should have worked it out by now.... we are shit... NO that's un-fair and plastic fan-ish.... There is no desire, no discipline, no commitment, I don't believe one of them care a bit about LCFC....

I have said it before PEARSON OUT

Sorry I seem to have a different opinion than you that must make my opinion wrong, oh well... if we only had various members of this forum as manager I’m sure we would be in the top flight by now :)

Take your football chat nonsense elsewhere.

Here, in General Chat, we have a plenty of intelligent discussion. Sometimes....

I do not agree with Pearson out, but I do agree with the footballing part. Nugent and Beckford are not target men, so when Kasper does one of his stupid too long goals kicks, the ball is bound to come back; forwards cannot hold it up and midfield are not in the game because the ball is forever going forward and then back.

However, when we do play football on the ground we generally do score. Look at our goal against Derby for example, the second against Coventry etc. All of midfielders and strikers, apart from Howard, are players that want the ball on the ground. Having said that, I do like the fact the defence will clear the ball and not knock it around the six yard box like Sven seemed to insist on.

Under Sven, the football was great to watch but it got us nowhere. Pearson's football is not that great too watch, but is more penetrating. Pearson will get us around the play offs next season though!

I agree I dont think sacking Pearson would aid us but we need to change our tactics. Both nugent and beckford are guilty at not holding the ball up, the midfield become invisible, the ball goes out wide and a cross comes in an we struggle like mad and more times than not concede.

When we pass the ball we control the game and we create some good opportunities.

Would like to hear pearson take some of the blame when we loose, always the players fault.

i wouldnt say Norwich & Southampton played top quality football imo, they both have confident squad's as they'd just achieve promotion;

getting kinda annoying to keep hear "pearson out" & such...seems to be people are never satisfied.

I to am not an admirer of NP tactics but the one thing we must avoid next season is the disruption of another manager change. On occasions this season (under NP) we have played some decent football, i do think NP has a decent chance of getting us closer to promotion next season, of course i would like the owners to back him financially but i hope they refrain from "we must get promotion this season statements". Its backfired this season, giving fans too much optomism and staff too much pressure, im prepared to back/support NP, the team /club will be better if the majority of fans back him too.

all we need is a top quality creative midfielder to pull the strings. danns can do the donkey work. unfortunately wellens isn't remotely consistent enough. we need a game changer.

Not for sacking him it won't help anything.

TBH I did not want him back as I don't think the going back thing works.

But if the owners are gonna get rid (but that would depend on the cup) then they should do it asap to give the new man a few games this season.

If they keep him they gotta stick with him not just give him a few games nxt season.

Look at Reading if our lot owned them the manager would have been gone in september.

At the two home games against them they played very good football, a simple, attack minded pass and move game where they took the initiative instead of just looking to contain. Yes they had confidence but they had/have quality too, their players are all comfortable on the ball and they had a creative spark in midfield from the likes of Hoolahan and Lallana.

We do need to develop a better style of football, no doubt about it for me. It doesn't necessarily have to be like Swansea's 'Barcelona of the Championship' style as such, but it needs to be a unit and it needs to have specific players who do specific jobs, and it needs something we are sadly lacking, an injection of creativity and pace when we get into good positions. When we get into those positions, so often we just resort to a hopeful cross or a negative, backward pass because the player on the ball doesn't have the quality to make a telling pass, run or shot.

In general we do need to pass the ball better and quicker, if players like Danns, Dyer, Wellens etc aren't up to the job then they need to be replaced. The players need to believe in the system and themselves. This is something that is not the case under Pearson yet, and it wasn't under Sven either, who despite splashing the cash, often set the team up with the aim of trying not to concede, instead of trying to score.
