Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Sugar's got nothing on Donald Trump. That guy fired a whole team (five people) at once on the American show and made the losing team always sleep outside in a tent. So much better than our shite. Adam won't win but he should for being a bloody funny chap. Nick or Tom will mind, that said I'm not averse to either of them.
Ozwin Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 The American version is the probably the worst edited show I've ever seen. They'll sometimes show the same clip twice in one episode like we're supposed to forget they showed it once already. And the board rooms are a joke, they edit in snippets of Trump's voice while looking at the back of his head or the contestants so it sounds more tense.. It's hilarious.
Matt Posted 30 May 2012 Author Posted 30 May 2012 Is there no interviews this series then? That's always the best episode, but Sugar just said the two who won their task were into next weeks final and presumably that will be a task would it not? It normally is isn't it? Normally you have the interviews then the final, I thought it happened that way anyway.
MooseBreath Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Love the way they show sugar pointing at whoever gets fired in the next episode so you know who is gone as soon as they sit down.
StanSP Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Think I just heard the interviews are the final. 2 hour show on Sunday, 8.30pm. I think they did that last year as well. Interviews and then boardroom ultimately combine for the finalists to sell their business proposal and themselves for one last time. I could be wrong, my memory is quite poor.
Raj Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Used to be an avid fan of this but havent watched this series. Bored of the "individuals' trying to carve out a media career as opposed to being Sugars bitch. Plus most of them are proper wankers.....ie Stringer!

Last year the final was the usual task with all the fired muppets helping out, I guess after the mockery of last year where it was clear that Tom would have to have got caught shagging Sugar's missus before he got fired, as he was the only one with a decent business plan, actually he didn't have a decent business plan, he had a successful product, Sugar dismissed his chair idea, which was his actual plan, and just said here's 250K now lets develop this idea you have already put to market and been successful with. So they have changed the format slightly, to make it slightly less obvious that the winner has already been decided. Now they can interview all 4 and whoever has the best business plan will win, they should probably just do that at the start, bring in 16 people interview them and examine their business plan, then offer to go into partnership with the one with the best plan. It is called business, but doesn't make a good TV show.

Perhaps Sugar should be kept in the dark about who's project is what?
Saxondale Posted 31 May 2012 Posted 31 May 2012 I do always enjoy the annual interviews with the c**ts. Used to be about third from last episode.
Jimothy Posted 3 June 2012 Posted 3 June 2012 Tom or Ricky will win. Tom has seemed strong most the way through. Ricky has been close to going a few times, which makes me think he's got a decent business plan and was kept in for that reason.

Ricky's blotted his copybook by rambling on, but i've noticed they usually make the winning team look poor and they turn out winning so he could turn it round. Still think it'll be Tom. Claude

Still think it'll be Tom. Yeah times I've watched it and thought the winning the team would lose. Having heard the business ideas I think Nick might be in with a shout. The other three ideas seem totally shit. All I know it Jade won't win.
pSinatra Posted 3 June 2012 Posted 3 June 2012 Jade = conveniently forgetful & economic with the truth
Basingstoke Fox Posted 3 June 2012 Posted 3 June 2012 I was looking forward to seeing Ricky get torn apart by that bald bloke but he did disappointingly well.
MooseBreath Posted 4 June 2012 Posted 4 June 2012 Can't help but suspect that a lot of that was faked to make Ricky winning look respectable. He was like a flailing child for almost the whole series and then suddenly had Claude kissing his ass. Come off it. Another case of sugar's favourite business plan being earmarked as winner from the start

Another case of sugar's favourite business plan being earmarked as winner from the start I see your point but, if Sugar was sifting people throughout the series based on their business plans, there's no way Jade would have got so far.
Captain... Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 I had picked Ricky early on, it was clear he was bigging himself up to stand out, but every time he had to do something he did well, he was prepared and he was confident, I think the editting was more to show his "journey" which wasn't as impressive as say Adam, but made more of a story. As an apprentice Nick would have won, but I don't really see his business plan making money, Jade was awful and Tom should really have won it with what was by all accounts a very impressive business plan, but not one Alan Sugar would invest in, which seems a bit of a pointless exercise really, they should have had some guidelines to start with saying that Siralun wouldn't invest in businesses that use other people's money, so really the whole process was a waste of time for Tom as he was never going to win with that idea, no matter how brilliant, well thought out and executed it was. Surely they should have had a look through them as part of the selection process.
Daggers Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 This show has as much to do with business and talent as my left nut.
