Mills vs No Mills

You should probably look up where Morgan and forest were before this season. More consistent than a one off season for Reading.

Mills was average, the others we have are average. Mills not being in the team ain't the problem.

I know exactly where Morgan and Forest were. His past is a lot more chequered than you imply. He was part of the side that only got out of League 1 at the third attempt.

Like other squad members (possibly including Mills) Morgan appears something of a panic buy. Maybe Pearson should have signed Luke Chambers instead.

We score more without Mills in the team, fact! look at the statistics! LOOK AT THE STATISTICS! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

And also concede a lot more..

And Reading scored more than us last season, and we scored no end.

...And Matt Mills has never played for Manchester United and look how well they are doing!!!!!

Yeah, let's forget that he led Reading to a play-off final and had several Premier clubs chasing him, shall we?

Have Morgan, Bamba or St Ledger got that type of record? No.

Mills has had good and bad games this season, the same as every other member of the squad. There's an argument that he's no worse that Steve Walsh or Matt Elliott were at his age. Look how many years it took before Walsh came good here.

a. Reading will probably go one better without him this year. Oh, and Hossein Kaibi 'had Premiership clubs after him'. So did every club-wrecking waste of cash snapped up by Peter Taylor, once upon a time.

b. Morgan, Bamba, St. Ledger have exactly the same record as Mills at this level: Never been promoted / all had frankly poor seasons this year. The only difference is that St. Ledger and Bamba are reasonably successful internationals.

c. Walsh and Elliott were both playing in this very same division at this stage in their careers and, in the case of the former, shipping far too many goals. Not only that, but they had to wait a further four or five years before getting to, and staying in, the Premier League. I doubt anyone is willing to wait that long with Matt Mills. Or any of his equally awful team-mates.

Oh, and let's remember that Mills didn't go up last season, neither has he ever been promoted to the top flight. None of our defenders has ever won a promotion to the top flight and only one has ever played there. As for Sven's other signings; Bamba was a mid-table Scottish premier league defender, St. Ledger went down last year, Peltier was plying his trade in League One (without a great deal of success) and Konchesky had just endured an absolute nightmare at Liverpool. As for Schmeichel, who is largely considered to be beyond reproach, he was sold by Leeds because Grayson felt he was conceding far too many and he's hardly been miserly here either. He's been responsible for letting in at least four goals in the last two games.

I don't see how anyone can interpret that as 'Morgan = problem / Mills = solution'.

I'm taking it you can't argue with any of that then!

Here's an idea: we weren't conceding this many with Conrad Logan in the team, isn't it about time he was given another chance? I know Schmeichel's done okay earlier this season but surely his recent form indicates that we're missing Logan and he deserves another chance...

The record showed that Logan conceded ten goals in the last two games he started for us. So your argument is even more pitiful than before.

Last night, once again, our defence had more bomb scares than Baghdad city centre, and you're just bitter that you can't pin any of them upon your scapegoat of choice.

I'll still take Bamba with any of the others.

More importantly the midfield has to get back to help the defence and forward to help the attack.

Mills has been poor and inconsistent... I only want to watch players who actually want to play for the club with pride on their shirts.

Poor you, no players play for anything other than money. If a better offer came in for any of them they would take it so sorry to burst your bubble

Interesting with Mills in the side we were conceding 1.04 goals per league game, without we are conceding 1.75 per league game!

With Mills playing we have only conceded 3 goals in a league game once, without we have conceded 3 goals in 5 games out of the 12 games he has missed in the league!

Nigel my regret his decision to freeze him out, could be the difference come the end of the season

Is Mills going to do any better than St Ledger, Bamba or Morgan? I personally don't think so.

I don't think Mills should start on Saturday but if he does, regardless of how well he plays, I still won't be convinced.

We're going through the St Ledger route now.

Yes, hes better than all of those if you want a defender. As a midfield replacement because they are crap, Bamba is probably better, but defending wise, no contest (and yes I have seen him play this season)

Mills and Bamba is still our best performing partnership this season in my opinion(although Bamba was worse than Bambi on Sunday)

Pearson should bring back Jack Hobbs

Are you taking the piss? Jack Hobbs is a hoofer who gets turned more than a thai prostitute!! He is a poor mans matt mills ( and thats pretty bad! )

Mills and Bamba for me, don't think Morgan has had a great impact!

In fact all 3 of Big N signings haven't really had a great impact, having that said DD and Marshal will turn out to be good signings in the long run!

Hobbs was decent when he had Brown pull the strings as a senior CB partner.

Just so I'm clear, is Mills the worst player we've ever seen? You know, like, today?

It's just that it keeps changing and changing so often I'm struggling to keep up this season with who I am supposed to be hating the most. I'd hate to be seen as out of step with popular thought.

I did like the Mills & Bamba partnership

But it just seemed to drizzle away. I don't expect to see it again though. Morgan is okay, but like you said, I don't think he's made a massive impact. Same with the other signings.

We want players who want to play for the club and Mills clearly doesn't want to.

do you think mills actively doesn't (or didn't) want to play for the club? I think thats a bit of a wild statement. If I didn't want to play, I wouldn't be bothered if I was dropped or not, no matter my ego.

I'd like to know how people have found out that Matt Mills does not want to play for us? Him and Pearson fell out, just like he did with SSL, the only reason he got back in the team was due to injurys.Matt Mills is a quality defender, if he plays for us again, watch him defensively, he is spot on, only weakness is hiss passing, & that is why people seem to hate him and say he's crap. In my opinion anyway

With Mills - goals conceded per game = 1.00, clean sheets = 1 in 3, points per game = 1.46.

Without Mills - goals conceded per game = 1.75, clean sheets = 1 in 4, points per game = 1.16.

Well if he wanted to play for us then why hasn't he tried to make it up to Pearson just like St. Ledger did and work hard to get back to the team?

If he wanted to play then he would of done that and the last we have all heard from Pearson is that the situation has not changed

Classic Leicester fans.

Matt Mills has gone from an over-priced liability with a bad attitude, to our saviour, in the space of 3 weeks.

And do you know what he's done in those 3 weeks to earn this?

Absolutely fvcking nowt.
