Libertine Dream Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 It's amazing how good Mills has become with some of you on here since he's not played. I want Pearson to put him back in, just so I can come back on here and see the messages we saw when he was playing... "Useless. Pointless long balls. etc etc." What does Morgan do any different, SSL is hardly much better, granted its not long ball but its 3 yards to Wellens who sits too deep too often.
Kitchandro Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Maybe it's because nobody is grasping that we have a lot of average players. Konchesky's good, Bamba's good more often than not but can also be a donkey, the rest are just average at best. Maybe people should stop arselicking every player who has a handful of good games in a row. Or arselicking players who aren't playing just because they aren't currently contributing to our crap displays. Or arselicking players because we spent big money for them in the summer and you were swept up in the 'next Steve Walsh' propaganda bollocks and won't let it go. Wake up and smell the coffee. Or don't, whatever.
brockmyster Posted 21 March 2012 Author Posted 21 March 2012 I've always liked mills so he's not come good all of a sudden in my eyes I've always thought it
dave the caveman Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Can you say what you'd have wrote if we'd have won? Just for shits and giggles? Something along the lines of 'Nigel is god', I assume? No you're totally, totally wrong. I don't post when we win. On a serious note, I do blame Pearson because he is the manager. We have the players required for a solid defence. It is down to the manager to make it happen. He's failing, slowly. He's slowly failing. Maybe my three words had we won would have been "he's still failing." Because he would have been. It's a slow, drawn out failure, but still a failure. He'll buy a bunch of players in the summer, and then the failure will continue. He will be sacked just after Christmas with us in 13th having conceded lots of crap goals. Feel free to gloat if i'm wrong, but i won't be because he is failing.
Petchy Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 What does Morgan do any different, SSL is hardly much better, granted its not long ball but its 3 yards to Wellens who sits too deep too often. Well then that is a difference... I'm not too keen on Morgan either, but I do prefer him to Mills who I'm not a big fan of both on and off the pitch. I also like Bamba a lot, but he's a bit of a car crash waiting to happen sometimes and really could do with a steady CB instead!
Tielemans63 Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Let's be honest, all of our centre halves are painfully average - not one of them could get it in the Prem. I'm not even convinced they're upper Championship class. Also, Peltier has flattered to deceive at first but has been pretty awful since Christmas time IMHO.

So who out of Bruno Berner, Jack Hobbs, Wayne Brown and Michael Morrison meet the above criteria. The defence is a unit. Unfortunately, we have yet to return to the generally impregnable backline we had when NP was first here but, given a summer to sort it out, we'll (to borrow an NP phrase which is making some of our lower IQ fans froth at the mouth) 'get it right'.
Kitchandro Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 I've always liked mills so he's not come good all of a sudden in my eyes I've always thought it Even when evidence has been pointing to the contrary all season?
accessory Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Even when evidence has been pointing to the contrary all season? The evidence that suggests we win more games and concede fewer goals when he plays?
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 ha, ha.. ain't playing..becomes great player...ha, ha.. Always is the case.
Captain... Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Kevin ****ing Phillips! (He did actually score them, why do some people forget that the opposition are trying to score goals and sometimes they do because they are a good side playing at home with a decent striker, I think this is the delusions of grandeur crap, we assume we are good enough to beat everyone, but when we don't it is because we are crap and it is Wellens/Gallagher/Mills/Morgan/SSL/Peltier/Beckford's fault)

We aren't better than Blackpool. But if we were we'd be above them in the table. Phillips is playing in the Championship for a reason. Because he can get the better of average Championship teams like us. He can do what he likes but if he scores 2 and fvcking Roman Bednar scores 1 as well you have to ask if it's because we're not doing our job properly.

Kevin Phillips has scored more than Beckford and Nugent this season, he is a very good player at this level, of course if we made no mistakes ever in any game we would win them all, but we don't, no team in the championship does. And I agree as a collective the players have to take responsibility it is this ridiculous scape-goating that goes on on here that drives me up the wall, today Young said he wanted to give man of the match to the whole team (admittedly this was before the equaliser) but it sounds like we were playing well as a unit and I think NP's subs might have upset the balance of the team or Phillips just used his experience and ability to find the space and take his chance.
